The Sheep Detectives (2026) dir. Kyle Balda
im terrible at being a real person but i think i'd make an excellent fictional character
i want to see the symbolism ppl would weave into the fanart of me. i want to see who id be shipped with. i want to see what discourse ppl would have about me.
I am so tired of short-attention-span, trim-the-fat culture. All writing advice these days is for how to write like Chuck Palahniuk. "Cut 'think', cut 'feel', cut 'wonder' - only action, only pushing forward, show and move and move and move." What if I could emulate this style, and still don't want to? What if I want to write like Henry James, with three paragraphs of introspective musings between each dialogue line? The music advice is, "make it shortform, make it Tik-Tok compatible, make it punchy, hit the refrain as soon as possible." What if I want that 10-minute prog rock piece? What if I want that symphony? What if I want it slow and luxurious and lazy? Movies. Series. Poetry. Bodies. Everything is "trimmed trimmed trimmed trimmed, stripped bare, you have three seconds to win me over, make it airport chic." I don't want to win you over, then, I guess. I want the fat left it. I want the pleasure and the indolence and the indulgence. Fuck this art-advice that's always "your art needs Ozempic."
Oh boy, a complex character who's a woman! I love messy characters who hurt everyone around them and continue the cycles that hurt them!! Can't wait to share this joy with fellow fans– why's everyone calling her a bitch
pmdd is when you channel tony soprano for roughly a week out of every month
this is roman roy (dog). he enjoys yelling at small children and staring at the ceiling for extended periods of time. when he is mad, he punches cabinets and screams. he in engaged in a longstanding war with his own reflection. god bles.
they invented a new level of hell and it’s called Opening A Bank Account
so like who decided that tyrell was going to pronounce “bonsoir” like that
SUCCESSION (2018—2023)
99% sure i just interviewed for a position at e corp. yall stay tuned
the parallels between tyrell and vera are so interesting to me. they both go to insane lengths to gain proximity to elliot, which ultimately leads to their demise. they both seem to view him as a godlike figure, although interestingly, vera has more success through recognizing elliot as a human being. and yet they have completely different intentions with him. vera wants to use elliot to enact his OWN will, while the majority of tyrell’s goals are directly tied into ELLIOT’S will. vera has always preyed on the “weak,” while tyrell has always attached himself to the “strong.” i honestly think they serve as personifications of both the predatory and parasitic elements of capitalism, but we don’t have time to unpack allat. anyways, food for thought or whatever
