A/N: this one is weird donât @ at me
âStill playing with mortals?â Regulus leaned against the counter of his kitchen island, looking extremely anachronistic in his favored Victorian clothes while being in Siriusâs hyper modern villa. It wasnât uncommon for his brother to stride inside of whatever property Sirius got his hands on just to mess with him.
He followed Regulusâs eyes on the other occupant of the room, currently asleep on the huge leather sofa. His nakedness told a story they both were extremely familiar with.
âHeâs notâŚâ He started, but Reg stopped him.
âWhat? A toy?â He couldnât have sounded more sarcastic even if he tried. That seemed to be Siriusâs penance: when the definition of God of Sex became a prison because it seemed like to prevent him from finding anything different.
âA mortal,â He corrected.
Regulus shook his head, an elegant eyebrow raised suspiciously.
âHeâs Lyall's child.â
âA Demigod, then,â Regulus sounded impressed. Sirius never cared for people with their own godly blood, he despised it in himself and didnât look for it in others. âDoes Albus know? Does Father?â
The questions were more loaded: Gods were technically forbidden to fall in love, or in the same bed, with mortals, but it happened more times than not, but Demigods, the results of those unions, were even more frowned upon because of some prophecy. And the offending Demigods usually got sent on impossible quests to prove of being worthy of said love. Those tasks were created so that they couldnât succeed.
âWhat do you think, Reg?â Sirius snapped his fingers and three glasses filled with a golden liquid appeared in front of them. The brothers took one each, leaving the other on the counter. âHeâs already on a quest.â
That wasnât common, not in the modern times. âPoor thing got cursed shortly after he was born. FenrirâŚâ
Regulusâs pretty face scrunched. âIs he trying to get free from the Moon Curse?â
âHeâs trying to lift it, from everyone. Itâs a quest to take Fenrirâs power, for Lyall nonetheless.â
Regulus shook his head. âIs he crazy?â
âQuite the opposite,â Sirius answered, knowing his voice softened. âHeâs the smartest Demigod Iâve ever met. Smartest mortal too, honestly I think he could outsmart Minerva herself.â
Regulusâs demeanor changed, from mocking to concerned. âSirius⌠Whatâs the bounty?â
Because to openly get up against a God required a bounty to bring back, something usually deemed impossible. And Regulus knew his brother. Sirius shrugged: âA Godâs heart. Not physically.â
Now Regulus paled. âSirius?â
âIâll do it,â There was determination in his voice which said to the younger brother it wasnât the first time he had that conversation.
âHe wonât,â A different voice answered, as the naked figure on the sofa moved to reach them after wrapping what looked like a random piece of silk around his waist. He wrapped protectively and hand on Siriusâs hipbone and leaned closer; Sirius, turned potty into the gesture, started to kiss up and down his neck. âWeâll figure something out.â
âMy heart is already yours,â Sirius complained against his warm skin. âI donât need it for my duties.â
âFuck your duties,â Regulus and the Demigod said at the same time. The younger brother liked the man immediately. Sirius whined.
âI havenât even introduced the two of you and you are already teaming up against me,â His was only mocked annoyance. âRegulus, Remus. Remus, the annoying brother I told you about.â
âI start to think that heâs annoying only because he cares about your wellbeing.â
That generated a curt laugh from Sirius and an eye roll from Regulus. âItâs more complicated than that, but as things are in this century, yes, I care. Especially about his heart.â
Remus ignored - as much as he could - the other God practically sprawled against his side to turn to look at Regulus. âSo do I, and since he told me it's mine, I can do what I want with it, and Iâm planning on treasuring it. Fenrir will have to consider it a bounty brought at his doorstep and break the Curse. My quest was to get the heart of a God.â
He winked at Regulus and the otherâs face brightened up, albeit shortly. âOnly to get it?â
Remus nodded and Sirius was taken aback while his brain got wired on the conversation instead of on how nice and warm Remusâs body was.
âSo, you did it? You broke the Moon Curse?â He had to ask.
âI donât know yet, love, but I guess that might be the loophole Fenrir missed.â
âItâs enough for me,â Regulus commented. Sometimes, being the God of Law was good, other times it was a game changer. âJust know Fenrir wonât be happy about it. And Sirius: keep him or I might actually steal this mortal from you.â
âStill not a mortal,â Remus answered, chuckling, as he finally placed his lips on Siriusâs who only responded in kind after giving the finger to his brother.
