FRANK AND BEANS
i want you to know that i’ll always be there for you no matter what
Surprise beautiful person! Once you get this you must put it into at least 8 people's asks anonymously who deserve it. If you break the chain, nothing bad will happen, but it's nice to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out. Love you!
.-.
when you successfully resist a self-destructive impulse
send me a 🌚 and a character from my canon and I'll tell you my opinion about them!
Hey Endos you’re all ableist and stinky garbage boys.
Howdy everyone take a look at these jerks posting in the actuallyendogenic tags
Prime example of the hypocrites that go “Don’t come in our tags!!!11111 You don’t belong in that space!!! ” and then go post hate in others’ spaces
I mean endogenics ARE #actually ableist and stinky so
I mean gatekeepers ARE #actually assholes and stinky so.
You existing isn’t ableist. You claiming to be a system is ableist. Systems are only formed through the repeated childhood trauma. How in the world you’d get alters or headmates without the need to split your identity to cope and survive is beyond me… Cause it’s impossible. You can have your religious/spiritual past lives and such. That is not our/my problem. The problem is calling yourself a system and using our clinic terms. Also I love how you say get out of the endo tag but like you have in your bio that you might have ossd-1?????
Look buds. We got friends that are endos. O’ course we’re gonna stand up for them. Endos are friends not food, eh? You’re the wolves by the way.
That odd and pointless metaphor aside, tell me how it’s impossible. Go ahead. I’ll wait.
This is neuroscience and psychology. Very little is not just understood but also set in stone with this field. Yet you’d like to come here and tell me it’s impossible for my friends to exist.
By the way, system isn’t even a word used nor claimed by those with any kind of mental illness, so I’d love to know how it’s ableist. “But we use it!!! We’re mentally ill!!!!” Do you people even check the history of a word before running around with it? It’s never been a clinic term. Not to mention that hey! Endogenics can deal with mental illnesses too! Wow, what a concept there, eh?
To go back to words, what about ableist? Are endogenics going out and blatantly denying your existence? Are endogenics saying, “Oh look, look at me, I didn’t form from trauma so you couldn’t possibly have either!! Boom boom boom, take my invalidation pellets!”
Actually, it seems to be quite the opposite.
Not to mention you guys are so funny with this. “They’re ableist!!! By merely existing!!!! Or calling themselves systems!!! uwu”
You claim this time and time again. You never give any kind of evidence. But hey, at least you’re consistent. That’s gotta be worth something, right?
#boycott47metersdown
47 Meters Down is a new horror movie coming out June 16th. The movie follows two sisters who go cage diving with Great White sharks, only to have the cage break. The two sisters end up on the ocean floor and get surrounded by “man-eating” and “scary” Great Whites.
As the Great White population continues to plummet, this movie will only contribute to the fear of Great Whites and other shark species, similar to how Jaws did. Please consider avoiding this movie and speaking out about how it will impact the population of Great Whites and other sharks.
Acephobia fucking exists part 3
I find it interesting how a lot of these comments in this part are literally advocating for conversion therapy of asexuals, see us as people that can be ‘fixed’ with the right amount of ‘therapy’ and the ‘correct psychologist’. Straight people don’t think we’re straight, or normal. Honestly a lot of them hate us.
This is something I talked about earlier, how there are plenty of types of aphobia, and this type is the one we tend to face on a regular basis. Literal sexual harassment and conversion therapy.
But sure, aphobia isn’t real alright.
Jesus this is scary
It’s funny that they want to paint us as an ‘abnormal’ tiny little minority. Asexuals are estimated to make up 1% of the worlds population. To put that into perspective the entire population of Australia is estimated at 0.33% of the worlds population. So the amount of people you’re discarding is the same as the entire population of Australia three times over. But sure we’re tiny, abnormal and irrelevant.
so, everyone who wants to throw aro and ace people out of the LGBTQIA community: please take a moment to notice how the intolerance here doesn’t just look the same as intolerance against other marginalized sexualities and gender identities, it doesn’t just use the same words and tone and tactics, it’s explicitly linked by several of these people. they’re saying they think asexual people are “sick” in the same way trans people are. maybe think about that before you go on another “you’re not oppressed like we are and don’t belong here” tirade.
HEY REMEMBER WHEN I SAID TO UNFOLLOW ME IF YOU DONT THING THAT ACE IS A VALID SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR DOESNT FIT UNDER THE QUEER UMBRELLA? DID I FUCKING STUTTER!? ALSO JUST WANNA POINT OUT MAYBE YOU SHOULD DO SOME HAAARD THINKING ABOUT HOW YOU’RE JUST LIKE THESE COMMENTERS IF THATS HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT ACE PEOPLE.
This! Please don’t ever tell me that I don’t face discrimination or that I am “basically straight” and don’t belong in LGBT+ spaces. I do. We do. And if you think that way, you’re part of the problem.
“Yeah but gay people get killed for being gay” Yes, that’s very true, and as a gay person I know it’s a major issue, how we’re being put in camps to be killed, are driven to suicide, or murdered on the streets, but the fact is that the LGBT+ community isn’t just about that; It’s about creating a nice safe environment away from hateful people as well as straight people in a secluded environment; I am not aro/ace, but I can understand why it makes sense to include them. They are not hurting us by joining unless they are openly homophobic, but there are lots of X-phobic LGBT people (TERFs, exclusionests, transcum biphobes) the LGBT+ community isn’t some sort of Oppression Olympics where only the “Most” oppressed can join. Different parts of the community have different needs, that’s to be expected. The only people not welcome in the LGBT+ community are those who actively spread hate (TERFs, exclusionests, transcum biphobes) and those who cause harm to others and claim it’s LGBT+ (pedophiles and kinksters). Aro/ace people, cishet or otherwise, are people who face struggles with their sexual/romantic orientation and it’s important to acknowledge that even though it’s not as bad as what LGBT people go through, it’s still an issue in it’s own right, a much smaller one but an issue nonetheless. We are building a safe space from that in our community, as well as a place where we can fight back against our oppressors. Of course, a cishet aroace person can be homophobic, in the same way that a cis lesbian can be transphobic (Lookin at the TERFs) that would be something that excludes them for the community. Being aro/ace isn’t the same as being a ““normal”“ straight person because it is seen by most people as something wrong, it is a sexual/romantic orientation that diverges from what is widely considered the norm. Aro/ace people are more than welcome in our spaces as long as they remember to stay in their lane, the same way cis gay people are expected to, or they are not welcome.

Having did (or other types of systems) misrepresented in the media as a horror/shock value for nuerotypicals’ entertainment is ableist as fuck. It’s just yet another movie dehumanizing and demonizing people with mental illness.
As both a trauma survivor and an alter in a system, that movie is not empowering. It is demeaning. It is specifically designed to represent us (alters) as non human entities that are inherently evil. The entire movie was about the guy being “broken” and “having evil inside him” so I have no clue how it made you feel the opposite.

Hey, are you against endogenic systems? If so, why?
I wouldn’t use the term against, but I definitely have some cautions and disagreements with parts of the concept, term, and ideology!
(P.S. “You” in this post isn’t focused on you specifically, but rather on the general “you” of people identifying as endogenic systems!)
Firstly, I want to acknowledge that there is room for non-traumagenic systems in professional DID/DDNOS diagnoses. Almost all systems are reported as having trauma, but it’s not a 100% of the time thing. It’s speculated that the remaining percent have trauma and don’t remember it, but that’s not my place to say.
There’s a lack of research, but current science states that DID is caused from early childhood trauma, when one’s identity is not yet fully formed and fragments due to dissociation from painful environmental factors, compartmentalizing, and then the formation of multiple identities. Whether or not the brain alone, without environmental factors, can do this isn’t my say. There’s nothing that says it can’t happen, there’s no evidence that it has happened.
The issues I have with idea of endogenic systems is how the concept can (unintentionally) further stigmatize DID and DDNOS. There is a huge fight for people with traumagenic illnesses to be recognized, so when people who don’t have trauma are creating new terms about a topic that already has a lot of discourse, it can create confusion, misunderstanding, and more stigma.
For instance, this sort of discourse can make the focus of conversations about DID/DDNOS romanticized–like it’s a cool thing to live with alters and navigate this world as a system. Alters are a significant part of DID diagnoses (and can be in DDNOS), but they aren’t the only symptom nor the most problematic in many cases. Focusing conversations on this multiplicity and using similar terms that people with DID/DDNOS use can alienate those of us living with these disorders.
I have no problem with people experiencing other identities–be it endogenic, a spiritual thing, or what not! It’s just that the people who don’t face the same stigma and oppression that people with DID/DDNOS do need to make sure not to tread on terms and territory that isn’t appropriate for them to. Essentially, equating a phenomenon (experiencing more than one identity with no discerned cause) with a disorder is inappropriate.
I believe, through some creative thinking, there are better terms that could be used to describe people who experience multiple identities (or other parts in their consciousness). Just like how people who experience more than one identity like kintypes and such use different terms (or at least, are supposed to!). For instance, I personally feel that the terms “systems,” “headmates,” “alters” should be for people with DID/DDNOS only. Conflating these terms with something that isn’t a disorder disempowers people who use these terms to describe their disorder.
(Please note that system and alters are not new terms created on tumblr, they are terms originally use for people with DID/DDNOS)
Essentially, don’t use system terminology (including the term “system”) if you don’t have DID/DDNOW/OSDD-1. Also, a lot of endogenic groups (gonna use that term since it’s not a DID/DDNOS specific term) take up survivor spaces for people with DID. This can sometimes happen unintentionally, but it’s important to remember that unless you have a DID/DDNOS Dx (Self-dx is fine!), then it’s inappropriate to take up space not meant for you.
This survey of 128 people (as in, bodies) shows how people with DID/DDNOS find it inappropriate for endogenic groups to use DID/DDNOS terminology, where those using it (endogenic) believe it’s not wrong. Clearly, it’s important to listen to the oppressed and stigmatized group and not appropriate their terms.
The other problem I have with this concept is that I believe it sometimes causes people who do have DID/DDNOS to overlook the need for treatment. I’m all for normalizing this sort of multiplicity, but over-normalizing it. If someone is experiencing DID symptoms, they may have a system that is formed from trauma and just not remember it. A lot of systems I’ve spoken with have at least one alter than has or had no recollection of the trauma. Sometimes the idea of “oh, if you’re don’t remember trauma then you’re endogenic, and that’s okay!” can prevent survivors of childhood trauma from getting the help they need.
In summary: The existence of people who do not remember trauma and describe system-like experiences is totally valid. Your subjective experience is always valid. It’s just important for people without DID/DDNOS to not use terminology specifically for these groups, enter their safe spaces, and they need to be mindful of further perpetuating stigma.
(Too long to edit for typos, but hopefully there aren’t too many haha)
I totally hear you on a lot of these points. I think my two big qualms about this whole line of thinking personally is
1) most of my friends are endogenic and I’m happy and proud to share labels with them. Additionally, they all have other disorders and traumatic experiences that they just don’t identify as “bad enough” to qualify them as traumagenic. I think labels and personal identification are very personal and don’t always convey every nuance of a persons situation.
2) I’m a traumagenic system, but I’m also a nondisordered system. I have one of the most stereotypic kinds of trauma during the right childhood years of my life to form a system, and I suspect that’s what caused my system to form; however, we don’t fit the criteria for OSDD or DID and don’t consider ourselves at all disordered. So do we belong in survivor DID spaces? Or only survivor spaces? What terminology do we use?
I’m genuinely not trying to trick you or be rude. I have pretty well formed opinions about this, but I’m not going to try to convince you of anything. I just really want to know what you think if you have the energy to talk about it because your first response was very well worded and made good points.
I’m pro endogenics using our terminology. I don’t think they should create their own. I’m pro them existing too. However they shouldn’t invade traumagenic-only spaces. -Kay
I totally respect that individual desire! I think it will be beneficial if you check out my reply to @dreadpiratesolstice since I explain the important of respecting majority opinion in public conversations. Private convos, that’s all on you and your preferences! :)
I respectfully disagree. You can not know what is anyone else’s head. Endogenics have a right to exist. They have a right to their own public spaces. We have a right to discourse among ourselves, and with traumagenic systems that welcome such. System is a plural term in general, not simply a DID term. Headmate actually originally came out of the soulbonding community, and that is generally the term endogenic systems use.
Most endogenic systems, if they do not have a problem with their plurality [and many don’t] won’t seek help for it. And many that have trauma in their backgrounds [again, many do] do not consider it the origin of their system, and may not be ready to delve into said trauma. Which means by urging them to seek help if they aren’t ready, you’re actually harming them.
