As someone who fails regularly, I find such comfort in this!
I like this a lot. My college creative writing teacher refused to read the revisions I had done on my stories because he said he knew I was a B student and that wasn’t going to change.
Stephen King’s college writing teacher didn’t think he was very good. My college writing class thought my writing was “babyish” and “stupid fairy tales.” The original teacher didn’t care for me, but she developed medical problems and was replaced by David Bradley, Jr., who made it plain he believed I had what it took. I don’t do writing classes or groups anymore, but I’m still in touch with Bradley, one of the finest writers I’ve ever read.
Language does not always have to wear a tie and lace-up shoes. The object of fiction isn’t grammatical correctness but to make the reader welcome and then tell a story; to make them forget, whenever possible, that they are reading a story at all.

How to make a character people love to hate
Make them unfair, especially if it’s towards the main characters. Bonus points if they know they’re being unfair and dismiss it.
Make them a bigot.
Give them a position of power.
Do not give them a zany personality. Anything can be forgiven for a character with a wacky personality.
Let them get their way at important points instead of having the main characters constantly triumph against them.
Umbridge fits most, if not all, of these points.
Don’t even try to punish your body for poor eating. First of all, it was your mind that chose to eat that junk, not your body. Second of all you cannot out exercise a bad diet. Yes, it can be frustrating. But the sooner you get over it and start eating healthier, the happier you’ll be!
I like this idea. Rewarding your body with endorphins and strength. :)
How to make a lovable villain (while still keeping them evil)
Make them good-looking. People are more willing to like those they are attracted to.
Give them a pleasant personality. Not all people who do horrible things are huge jerks.
If that doesn’t work, give them a sense of showmanship and pizazz. Villains having fun are fun to watch.
Give them a tragic past.
Give them a motive that relates to their tragic past.
Make them have at least few people they truly care about.
