Do you know how many first cousins you have?
yes
no
so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
okay so i just got my dream job??? a week after applying to it?? and now iâm thinkingâŠ.maybe this is the good luck post
âŠ..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment
likes charge reblogs cast, folks, this is the good luck post
i need all the help i can get for finals
Hey so
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.Â
So you know.Â
This might be the real one, yâall.
I am not taking a risk
Not risking it pals
U know what I want potato of luck
Damn right Iâm reblogging. See previous post re wrath of whatever from high atop the thing.
Going to Vegas this week, not taking a chance.
i dont get offended at white people jokes even though im white because:Â
i can recognize white people as a whole have systemically oppressed POC in america, which is where i liveÂ
most people when they make white people jokes only mean the shitty white people and i am not a shitty white personÂ
im not a pissbaby
my white friends that have reblogged this give me life
4. Sometimes I am a shitty white person and the jokes remind me to FUCKIN STOP
If ur white and like this post I fux with u
^absolutely
5. Itâs hard to be offended when white people jokes involve bland food/tourist dads in socks and sandals/white girls in yoga pants obsessed with pumpkin spice/suburban PTA moms and other harmless and mostly true stereotypes while jokes about POC involve them being called thugs/criminals/slurs/uneducated/illegal immigrants.
âI tampered with that persons food/drink order because I thought it would be funnyâ is like saying âI cut your brakes out of your car because I thought it would be funnyâ. thatâs not a joke. Itâs almost premeditated murder
a reminder for all people that real life has no âundoâ button.
allergies kill people every day.
intentionally tampering with food is a federal crime.
you can be charged with assault, manslaughter, and more if you intentionally tamper with someoneâs food or drink.
there is no joke in the entire world that is worth killing someone over and then having to live with that.
donât fuck with peopleâs food.
a reminder for
all people that real life has
no âundoâ button.
Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Side add-on. Just because it won't kill someone doesn't mean it won't absolutely WRECK what they're trying to get done in their life at that moment. It might cause a "oh that's annoying" for an hour for an average person. But for a person with allergies/sensitivities that don't kill - it could cause them to experience cramps, stabbing pain, nausea, fever, chills, dizziness, headaches, incontinence aka living on the toilet because your butt is mad, etc for three days up to OVER a week (+) of painful symptoms/side effects. It might not KILL someone, but it might KILL their ability to function. It might KILL their chance for appointments and advancement opportunities while they're unwell. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to explain to a prospective client you want to preform for that you have been brought low by [INSERT VEGETABLE/FRUIT] and it might have been almost easier for them to explain they got shot in the shoulder than try to explain without going into graphic detail: "My intestines are currently attempting to crawl up my throat and retreat through my anus at the same time." or "I feel like if I burp, my guts will spew out of my mouth like a fake spring snake in a tin of nuts joke." or "I'm trying to be at my pc, but my behind is running like a river and my phone doesn't have the same app control ability while I'm restrained to the porcelain throne." Don't fuck with allergies. 1) Not funny - you could legit MURDER someone. 2) Even if they don't die...how can you call yourself a friend for putting them through unnecessary pain? 3) You're legitimately harming someone. If someone punches you in the face, it isn't likely to KILL you, but it will still HECKIN HURT!! Just try not to be a reprobate and ASK people about it. If you make a mistake, be honest IMMEDIATELY. They might have a medication they can take to help or at least have time to plan around the issue. This shit causes actual HARM and real life PAIN and SUFFERING to people. If you intentionally POISON someone with something they've told you is HARMFUL to them, you're a right bastard and deserve a proper kick between your legs regardless of gender. You're not funny, it's not a prank. You legit caused harm on someone who trusted you to respect their vulnerability. You're a cruel bastard. Be better.
My mom's allergic to crab. (She's fine with other shellfish, which ususually go together as allergies, but NOT CRAB.) If she eats even small amounts - like something got mixed together at a buffet - she spends the next two days glued to a toilet having awful diarrhea.
I'm not quite that bad with wheat, but I still get cramps and diarrhea. Sometimes Benadryl helps, sometimes not. When my GI issues get bad, everything from nuts to wholegrains to fatty meats to acidic foods causes the same symptoms - and NOTHING helps except waiting it out.
DO NOT MESS WITH PEOPLE'S FOOD.
And if you're a bitch about "hey, what's in this?" or "I can't eat this" then YOU are the problem. Not them. Not their allergies. Not their sensitivities.
This includes giving people normal soda when they ask for diet. You could literally kill someone this.
"But they were rude to me and as someone working customer service this is the only way I can retaliate"
IđDONTđGIVEđAđFUCK
Murder you can literally murder someone!
Also if someone tells you their allergy/intolerance is so bad they can't even smell it fucking believe. Don't offer immersion therapy
Treat intolerances the same as allergies while your at it. Cause mine? Not allergies but so much as a whiff of onion going through the produce section? I'm down for 3 days with a migraine that meds and homeopathics offer minimal relief for.
I have a sensitivity to soy. I asked someone I thought I trusted to get me a coffee a while at a convention. I stressed that I couldn't have soy milk. Well, guess what? She said she didn't believe me so got soy milk to confirm it. I spent two days in abject misery, missed pretty much the whole Con and had to drive 6 hours home on day three. She is no longer my friend, if she ever really was. Seriously, just don't.
what I love about the amazing devil is how human their music sounds. like, there's some tiny imperfections in the voices sometimes, and you can hear where they take a breath. sure, sometimes it sounds ethereal and angelic, but even then, if you listen closely, you can hear that the people singing are actual humans. this might just be me, but I feel like a lot of music is striving too much for perfection. singers need to always be perfectly on pitch, even if they're awesome singers all by their own merit, there can never be any mistakes, hearing a tiny intake of breath is not wanted, and everyone has to sound inhuman in their perfection. but with TAD I don't feel like that, it feels somewhat grounded. whether intentional or not, their music shows that human voices have an immense power even without being tweaked to perfection. idk if they use pitch correction or not, and ultimately it doesn't matter, because even if they do, it doesn't take away from the raw emotions, and the little imperfections that make their music so much more perfect in my mind.
anyway, that's my two cents on why I love my favourite band so much lol
Geralt getting *pissed* because someone chose to ransom Jaskier to Yennefer instead of him.
(Never mind that Yennefer actually has money and thereâs a rumor going around that she and the bard are married)
âOh, would you stop pouting already?â Yennefer sighed as she and Geralt walked side by side.
âIâm not pouting,â Geralt muttered â while clearly pouting. âI just donât understand why they sent you the ransom note.â
âBecause, unlike you, I actually have money,â Yennefer replied dryly. âAnd look, weâve arrived.â
Towering in front of them stood a tall, weathered spire, its stone walls reaching into the cloudy sky.
âGuess itâs time to start climbing,â Geralt said, scanning the walls for a decent handhold.
âOr,â Yennefer said, raising an eyebrow, âwe could try using the door.â She pushed open the heavy wooden entrance with ease and stepped inside.
âRight,â Geralt mumbled, following her in.
They climbed the long, winding staircase in silence until they reached the top. There, sprawled comfortably on a lavish bed, was the bard theyâd come to find.
âYenna!â Jaskier greeted with a grin, sitting up. âPerfect timing. The dragons just left andââ He stopped mid-sentence, eyes narrowing as he took in Geraltâs appearance. âGeralt, what are you wearing?â
âI came to rescue you,â Geralt said flatly.
âOh, I see that,â Jaskier said, waving a hand. âBut honestly, have you learned nothing? If this is going to be a proper romantic tale, the heroâyouâneeds to rescue the charming damselâmeâin shining armor. Not⊠whatever this gloomy ensemble is supposed to be.â
He flopped back dramatically onto the bed.
âNow go change into something dashing. Iâll wait.â
honey is the only food product that never spoils. there are pots of honey that are over five thousand years old and still completely edible
i also want to point out we know it tastes the same even after thousands of years b/c archaeologists who discovered two thousand year old honey tasted it. presumably right after they looked at each other and went âwhat the hell here goes nothingâ
Iâm pretty sure they also identify human remains by taste. Archaeologists are straight up freaks.
No, no no⊠you identify bone from rock or other substances by touching it to your tongue. If it sticks, itâs bone. The taste itself has nothing to do with it. And most archaeologists wonât lick human bones if they know theyâre human.
âŠand I realize that doesnât actually do much to prove archaeologists arenât freaks.
mai nam is jane and wen i dig i fynde some roks both smol and big i put my tung upon the stone for science yes i lik the bone
Iâm sitting with a bunch of archaeologists and we just laughed so hard we CRIED weâre getting tshirts with this on them
I will never ever get tired of seeing bredlik poems. It is really one of the seminal art forms of the century. I am not being sarcastic.Â
If I ever donât reblog this, assume Iâm dead and archaeologists are licking my bones.
The last one killed me!!
I beat it was an archeaologistâŠ
I know that some British people take umbrage at Americans calling the Great British Bake Off relaxing, but it's just because GBBO is such a different kind of stressful from American baking shows.
American baking shows will be called something like "Cupcake Knife Fight", there's horror movie lighting everywhere and dramatic stings every 5 seconds. All of the contestants are shit talking each other and fist fighting over the one single deep fryer provided by production. It will show the judges all whispering to each other at their super villain table overlooking the whole kitchen, and one will be like, "Oh my god. Everyone look at Brenda right now. She's straight tanking it." And it will cut to Brenda, who is running around covered in flour and crying and also bleeding for some reason. Then you get a clip from an interview with one of the contestants, and they're like, "I really need to win this. Without this award money, I'm gonna need to close my restaurant, sell my dad, and live out of my car. AGAIN." Then the giant digital doomsday clock overhead lets out a horrid klaxon, the judges tell half of them that their cupcakes taste disgusting, and one of them gets eliminated and sent to walk down the dramatically-lit shame hallway never to be seen again.
Meanwhile GBBO is in a lovely, brightly colored tent, there are delightful and friendly hosts/jesters there to keep everyone entertained, and all of the B Roll is of like... a bumblebee going into a flower, or a lamb running in a field. And yes, there will be moments where someone will mess up their timing or something, and they'll be looking at their bake through the oven door like, "oh gosh I don't think this will rise in time!" Then they stand up to find Paul Hollywood directly behind them ominously. His creepy whitewalker eyes will glow white, and he'll say something like "the 12th of June. 2035. Drowning." And his eyes will go back to normal and he'll walk away. Then the baker gives a playful grimace to the camera and says "that didnt sound great, did it?". Cut to a sweet looking older woman sipping tea on a stool and she says "oo I do hope that Prue enjoys the taste of my sugary, sticky baps!". Then, at the end, someone gets a gold star for doing good, and the loser of the episode gets in the middle of a giant group hug. You see all of them at the end of the series at a giant carnival with their families and the post credits informs you that all of the contestants have become a Partridge Family-style traveling band and stayed friends forever.
THHHIIIISSSSSS! I had a kidney stone last year and they gave me morphine at the hospital. It took care of alllll my pain. The Doctor asked how I was feeling and I waved my hands around like a loon because they didn't hurt for the first time in a long time. He was rather confused. đ
You can only keep the last thing you ordered online if you can explain it to a medieval peasant Keeping it?
yes
no
too easy
I die trying
they call me a witch
results
I think this has been shared here before but I wanted to put it here one more time cuz itâs one of the very few pieces of media we actually have of them singing live đ
Also I absolutely love how the lights on them go with their characters (blue on Joey for Blue Furious Boy and red on Madeleine for Scarlet Scarlet)
And yeah just the way theyâre genuinely having fun and being silly is everything to me đ
This is so close to 800 Iâm terrified
@catscraftsandcommentary I keep going back to the look on my mom's face when I explained "yes I understand I do somethings a weird way but it's what helps my anxiety so I just do it that way". It was like a light just went off (like the Ouran scene where they all realize with yhe lightbulbs) that maybe 1 my anxiety is way worse than she thought, and I amanage it a lot better than she thought
My Mom and I clashed so many times over the years because we both had to do things a certain way thanks to our individual anxiety but were never able to see that was the reason. She's passed now and I would give anything to go back and undo all that angst.
the people who go "we shouldn't be so open about nudity because it could trigger someone's dysphoria" are like two steps max removed from "fat people being fat in public could trigger someone with an ed". like peoples' bodies are not the problem here, trying to restrict someone else's body because of how you personally feel is indistinguishable from conservative praxis. i'm sorry if that sounds harsh but there is basically no interpretation of "we need to control the bodies of [demographic]" that does not fall down the slippery slope of fascism.
