What a great year 2022 has been … I had some amazing trips and catches through the 2022 season… looking forward to 2023 season… Here is a look back at the 2022 season.

Well it's been a long time... I just figured out how to post with my telephone.. Being old school doesn't really do it for me. However it doesn't keep me from catching fish. The 2021 season is upon us and I am looking to book some trips. Fishing this year, I believe, could be outstanding. I hate to admit it but last year, 2020, was a tough year for catching bigger fish on the Lake of the Ozarks. It was a tough year for big fish, however small ones were eager to bite. Everyone might not agree with me, but I usually tell it the way it is. I'm now booking trips on the Lake of the Ozarks and also the Osage River.  I recently added a new jet boat, and I still have my Phoenix, and they are always ready to go.  During the off-season I have been fishing quite a bit and catching some really nice fish. My biggest this winter has been a 7lb 7oz.  As you know I am a catch, photograph and release guide. I like to release the fish as soon as possible to allow them to be caught again. I do a little crappie fishing in the early spring however Bass is my favorite fish. Back in Business Back in Business Back in Business          

It has been a long time but with the current regulations and if everything keeps going the way it is,  I am now booking fishing trips for the 2020 fishing season.   However until we are all clear we will have to have some restrictions.    We will have to have masks while we are under way. That’s when the big motor is being used, when we are traveling and not fishing.  I will only book two people for a fishing trip. I cannot do three, we are too close together.  Safety has always been and continues to be my main concern. Other than that, let’s go fishing. I am ready to have a great time!

I don’t what  to think or really what to do. However I believe that it is my best interest to you to keep my guide service on lock down until the first of April. Hopefully we might see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Crappie Fishing

This time of the year there is nothing better that eating early spring crappie filets. I always like to go out and try to catch a few this time of the year.  The  fish filets are better that others because they real lean.  Fun fun fun

Don’t like the weather

Just give it a day or two. The weather around here changes just about every day.  The next few days is going to be like a killer around here. We have up to 10 inches predicted of cold wet snow . I know that sounds like a mild day to some of you northern folks but that is a terrible thing to happen here. The lake is still liquid bit terrible muddy and the fish just aren’t biting at all.     So take apart those reels lose part of them and just go invest some of the newes Lew’s reels. It is time for you to get some new ones anyway.

Lets give it a month or two so we can go catch the big ones.

Happy New Year!!!!!

Well the New Year has started and it is time to start thinking about fishing again.  Yep I got my new knee and I am just about ready to go fishing again. I have a couple of fishing trips scheduled before spring here in the midwest and you can bet I will be in shape for them. I will schedule fishing trips the first of April and thru the summer and in to the fall and winter.  If you want to go before that just give me a call and we will see what is happening on the lake.

As everyone knows I am a catch and release bass guide We practice CPR with all of our fish.   Come go with me I am always ready to hit the water..

Crappie fishing  Do I like to catch them yes .... Do I like to eat them WELL of course. However I really only fish for them in the spring. The rest of the time it is bass time for me sorry .

Ready To Go

HEY now is the time to fish beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. The fish are biting and the lake is in great shape. NO WE ARE NOT FLOODED. We are at full pool like it is at this time normally. The water color is stained and that is a fisherman dream.We have been catching some amazing fish.  Come on down to this amazing lake and lets go fishing .

I Am Back !!!!

Just got back from a Fishing trip to Canada which is always a great one. Smallmouth Bass ,Walleye and Pike  was the catch of the week. Of course the Walleye and Perch were a tasty meal also. It is a special treat for me as my son Jon has treated me for a Christmas present the past several years. Great to have a son like that you know. 

  HOWEVER the fishing here at the lake is just as good right now it seems like. They are releasing lots of water and when that happens Oh boy the fishing gets Real Good. Jim Siez good.

Sunday May 19th morning

Fished with Ken McVey from Manhattan Kansas this morning. He learned how to skip a wacky worm and caught several keepers today. The fish are in a transition mode and scattered throughout the water column. Some are shallow some are deep. The fish can also be caught fishing a Texas rigged worm.  It won’t be long before the fish settle into a summer pattern. Book a trip and lets go fishing.....
