“I,” There was a moment of hesitation. “I honestly wouldn’t blame you if you did.” Billy spoke softly, face pressed into his boyfriends shoulder. “I was ready to give up so many times.”  One of Billy’s hands came to rest on his chest, feeling the comfortable pattern of a heart beat. 

Teddy held him close, rubbing his back he said, “let’s be honest Billy, I don’t think I could have ever moved on from you.” Kissing his temple, he put his hand on top of Billy’s and said, “you’re it for me, always have been. Always will be.” 

Holding him there, Teddy asked, “do you want to get some rest? My bed is a bit small, but, I hear I’m comfy to lay on.” He joked, hoping to get a smile out of Billy.

“I think he’s doing okay.  He isn’t really one to tell you if he’s not, but as far as I can tell he and Storm are back on track, and I think he’s enjoying having a more exuberant daughter in Gabby.”  Gabby shared a few qualities with Jubilee, so she could only imagine that he would enjoy that.

She hesitated, “I was only just really accepting that he was actually gone, you know?  Which makes me feel kind of guilty that that’s when he showed up.”

He nodded, “I get that, I do. I may not know him as well as you but I think if there’s anyone who would understand moving on it would be him.” Teddy shrugged, “and besides, he’s now back, I cannot imagine he’s going to worry himself with what happened while he was gone. If I were him, I’d be more focused on what was in front of me.”

Teddy thought on it, “I don’t think I’ve met Gabby yet, she’s your sister?”

Putting the Band Back Together

Kate enjoyed teaching people archery. It was a useful skill to teach people in times like this. Arrows were silent. Guns gave off your position. Plus, she was really happy she was working with Clint again. But she couldn’t get rid of the feeling she should be doing more. She should be out there saving people instead of hiding inside. She could go request a mission, but those were mostly supply runs or scouting missions. She wanted to go rescue people or fight a zombie horde, or something real.

She decided to walk the perimeter to look for easy access points—places she could sneak out if she needed to. It was then that she ran into Teddy. At first she wasn’t sure it was him (there were a lot of hunky guys around this place, in her defense), but then he turned in her direction and she ran up to tackle hug him.

“Teddy,” she shouted. She knew he was here in Haven, but she hadn’t seen him yet. And she really missed him. “I’ve missed you! How are you doing?”

Teddy had been caught off guard by thee hug, but welcomed it. “Kate! Oh my god, hi!” He gave her a bear hug and laughed slightly. “It’s so good to see you. I had heard you were here! It’s just. . .wow. . .hi.” Teddy laughed, hugging her again. “I’ve missed you too. I’m glad you’re here with us now.” He kept a hold of her for a moment before letting her go.

“So, how are you? Aside from the apocalypse happening and all that.”

Teddy had to grin and nodded, “I’ll have to take him up on that. We cannot have this little one without a great name.” He smiled and said, “it feels like it’s been forever and a day that I’ve seen you. With the expansions and everything I feel like I almost loose time or something.” 

“It helps that Billy is back through,” Teddy said, “I’m starting to finally feel grounded after so long of being without him you know?” 

“I’m glad you got him back.  I know that’s been really difficult for you.”  She smiled slightly, but it was genuine.  “I don’t know if I can fully understand feeling ‘grounded’, but I can tell that you’re happy.”

She got up and moved over to grab an old feed sack, which she began to fill with straw.  “I’m sure that after nearly three years the odds of him finding you were pretty long.  You’re both very lucky.”  She finished filling the bag, “For her bedding.”  She explained as she offered him the bag of straw.

He reaches out and takes the bag and says, “thank you though, honestly. You’ve been a good friend to me. Thanks for pulling me out of my funk.” He smiled as he tied off the bag of straw. “How’s your dad doing? I had heard he came back.”

He had maybe met the Wolverine once or twice, but being the nerd he is though he had to ask about him.

The magic disappear from around his hands, the witch barely missing a beat as he turned toward Teddy, but not meeting his face “Well,” with one hand on his hip the other by his side as if he was balancing a plate on it. “Who wouldn’t?” Fake confidence thick through his voice. His eyes still didn’t meet Teddy’s for a few moments but once they did, he couldn’t help the laugh that escaped him. “I missed you too, Tee.” The grin not leaving his face. Stepping closer to his boyfriend, running a hand through the others hair. @biggreennerd

Teddy smiled softly, closing his eyes as he was touched. Brushing Billy’s cheek he smiled and said. “I was getting pretty dang lost without you. Honestly was starting to think I was going to have to let you go.”

Pulling him into a hug he closes his eyes for a moment, still needing to assure to himself he was there. That he wasn’t a dream.
