I’m going to talk about the story of Paradox Junction.

a lot of what I’m about to say is speculative head canoning and Narrative Interpretation. Don’t take my words as gospel or an indication that I know more than you.

I think the best place to begin when discussing Paradox Junction is with Samantha Maxis because her character is intrinsically tied to this haunted testament of humanities folly,

In Black Ops 2’s Survival Map: Nuketown, the CDC/CIA characters are chronologically parallel to the events taking place on Griffon Station on the moon

For 24 rounds of the map Samantha Maxis is in control of the hoard of zombies until Richtofen trades souls with her and takes over in her place at Round 25.

This would be her second time being present

As just a little hours prior to the events of Nuketown Zombies” Ultimis and Primis Venture into Camp Edward to obtain the elemental shard being held by Broken Arrow.

At the end of the map, Dr. Ludwig Maxis would send his daughter and a young Eddie richtofen into a teleporter to save them feom the wrath of Dr. Monty.

Nuketown was the place where her psyche shattered and returned to her Black Ops 1 state. (This will come up later)

She unleashes a massive amount of energy that turns camp Edward as we knew it into how we find it in Bo2. From where Samantha was she would’ve seen Army Trucks on what would be later named Trinity Avenue

This place is the place she found out her farther was taken away from her farther would be taken.

All this is to preamble why Nuketown is such a traumatic memory for Samantha Maxis. And Why when she was reconstituted in the dark aether she would make this place her new home.

Well, what is left of her anyway.

Samantha is now the twins. Both with different personalities and outlooks.

The Scorched Twin has a much more sadistic and cynical personality compared to the other Unscathed Twin.

The Unscathed: Has an In map discussion with the Terminus Crew regarding her memories (and how particularly she remembered Lizzie by her pet name)

The Scorched: Has a discussion with the Maledictis Group of (Richtofen, Nikolai, Dempsy and Takeo)

Remembering the Great War.

During the Main Quest we come across an ash Woman who vanishes. But as she does a the shadows of two figures disappear soon after only leaving the twins signature chalk. This is symbolic of how after Samantha fought the forsaken was was thought gone forever she re manifested as two lost little girls forever doomed to repeat a cycle.

Now this is where we go into speculation town.

Theory: Is Trinity Avenue a hint towards Ava Jansen being a vessel of Samantha and the twins are the fractured soul of Samantha.

Ava was born using the DNA of Samantha Maxis and Sergei Ravenov

Could it be that Ava’s body would complete this separated Trinity that make up Samantha as a person.

Anyway I’ll leave it here. In my next post I will talk about the theory that the Greek Goddess Hecete is tied to this map narratively.

Paradox Junction Cinematic | Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

So, I want to discuss the cinematic for Paradox Junction

The Warden is pissed. it seems that he requires life energy to sustain himself.

He seems to be feeding off of Ava Jansen who he pulled though the mirror in Liberty Falls Circa 2022.

The Warden describes himself as a "Righteous Soldier here by Divine Providence". This to me gives the warden a more human motive for being as he is, he's a man from civil war era united states so he isn't some kind of cosmic omnipotence with grander universal motives.

"Fuck Freedom, i've seen the corruption it brings, the unholyness, the perversion, the despair"

This is a seemingly religiously motivated man with a mandate of purity at heart. and puts into perspective a core motivation as to why he enslaves the shadow smiths.

This sort of attitude seems to indicate why he has Nuketown in his own little hell dimension. it's the image of purity in his eyes, the nuclear family the white picket fence the traditional American values. all of this to me screams of the so called purity the warden seeks, nuke town is a place frozen in a single moment of time. it's perfect thematically.

"Even if I have to burn the idea of purity back into the bones of reality itself"

It just writes itself doesn't it.

anyway those are my thoughts on the matter. give me your own opinions on what's happening in the story so far.

I don’t suppose I should be suprised by this but given the leaks surrounding paradox junction but I’ve held the firm belief that Call of Duty Zombies fans have the mental maturity of twelve year old children for the most part,

Wether it’s shouting at streamers about what they think the next step of the Easter Egg is or Simply Complaining About any aspect about the game.

Since I was young myself I heard a lot of people complaining especially in BO2 bring mad about how “The OG crew isn’t in the game”

It only took them till Origins for them to come back as Primis but I remember Victis getting no grace as a result of this.

Same thing happened with the Chaos Crew and Requiem as well. But I can’t tell if a lot of the complaints come from people who were there in the beginning just being unable to be separated from their comfort characters or if it’s actually just a bunch of New Gen Kids desiring for a time they didn’t actually play back then.

Then they have the Gaul to complain about “Reusing Assets” or “Reusing Maps”

No one had an issue with the Wunderwaffe returning in Call of the Dead. Or the Thunder Gun being reused.

I had someone actually put a bad faith argument hoping that the raygun mark 2 is going to be the wonder weapon in the Paradox Junction despite it being a fixture of the T.E.D.D tasks and mystery box since ashes.

The point is it doesn’t matter if they get unique stuff or not, they’ll find something to complain about

The reception to Astra Malorum being an obvious example of this.

If I start talking about how people think the story is shit despite not engaging in the actual narrative at all then I could go on for hours. But yea. Zombies fans are immature. Cod players are immature

My Undying Love for Nuketown Zombies, It’s Inspiration and its Narrative Role in the story of Call of Duty Zombies and my speculation for “Paradox Junction”

So I LOVE Nuketown as a location for a zombies map. So I’m first going to speak on this map first before moving onto it’s story, it’s inspiration and it’s Sequel Map Alpha Omega before moving onto my speculation dor Paradox Junction and why Nuketown is the perfect nexus point for a “Place out of time”

So Nuketown Zombies is a survival map that takes place in 2025 during the events of the map Moon, we hear Richthofen on the Radio throughout the map until round 25 when he swaps souls with Samantha Maxis and takes over the zombies.

You play as nameless CDC or CIA agents sent to “Camp Edward” for an unknown reason (perhaps in relation to the work done by Broken Arrow?)

The core gimmick of Nuketown zombies is that after Quick Revive the Perk Machines and the Pack-A-Punch Drop at random over the length of the match via the nuclear mushroom cloud that looms over head, I love this for Nuketown zombies and it’s my Favorite map of all time Because of this reason. The atmosphere in the map is Bleak to say the least, the sky is grey and the image of 1950’s American suburbia looks like a *hell hole*, the buildings are in ruin, the mannequins look charred, overall the whole vibe of the map for me is “Hopeless” and I love it.

I’ll talk about it’s inspiration

Nuketown in Call of Duty was very deeply inspired by the depiction of a “Doom Town” Nuclear test site seen in Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull and this itself was inspired by the Nevada nuclear test site that uses mannequins and a facade of an American home to test the effects of a nuclear blast on your average American home at the time.

The effect it leaves at least on me is somewhat haunting image of the idillic American suburbia in its most artificial form, and for whatever reason gives me a sick sense of appeal, having something crafted to be so pure and idillic be destoyed by the very people who set it up, there’s a metaphor there somewhere, an image I’m obsessed with

Moving back to the narrative role of Nuketown Zombies

It’s the beginning and the end, alpha omega as black ops 4 put it

It was the ending of the story in black ops 1 zombies and the beginning of the story of black ops 2 zombies.

It’s the place where black ops 4 story loops back around to address the continuity and story of black ops 2 before Tag Der Toten. Such as Broken Arrow, T.E.D.D, Russman, Marlton and the Avagadro, hell even a send off for Peter McCain, alpha omegas ending also sets up the original map by having The Samantha we know and love destoy Camp Edward after having witnessed her farther be eaten infront of her, bringing things back into a tidy little loop

So Nuketown is a place where the past and the future meet often narratively (sorta Zero Escapish if you ask me)

Now as we take this into account let’s discuss why Nuketown is somewhat inspires Paradox Junction and what I think could be covered narratively for the story of black ops 7.

So Paradox Junction. From what we can gather from in game Intel and leaks it’s implied to be a fucked up hellish reimagining of Nuketown where “Time doesn’t happen linearly

So I’m picturing a version of Nuketown trapped in its own hell dimension similar to Shadows of Evil or Mob of the Dead. Perhaps the warden plucked Nuketown out of the depths of the dark aether for its “temporal energies”

I’m wondering if there will be some sort of “Time loop” vibe to it where our group of survivors die over and over again in this prison the warden set up.

I’m also expecting this version of richtofen’s backstory to be fleshed out in this map given his implied role in nuking America in his timeline.

I really cannot wait for this.

I Had a bit of an insane idea for a crossover between A Cod Zombies Style Game and Danganronpa.

My original idea is a sort of Retelling of Mob of the Dead with the Cast of Culprits from Trigger Happy Havoc where though the main quest they need to free the souls of the people they killed from purgatory.

The zombies would be nameless people from the reserve course

The Tedd Tasks/ S.A.M Trials would be ran by Alter Ego

You have in Inbuilt Wonder Weapon in the Megaphone Hacking Gun.

The Mystery Box is the MonoMono Machine

The Wonderfizz can be the Mono Vending Machine in SDR2

(Btw if anyone has ideas for Danganronpa themed Perk-a-Colas feel free to contribute)

(Same goes for the Pack-a-Punch)

The Gobblegums could be linked to Ruruka Ando.

Sakura Could be a Brutus or George Remero like special enemy that you also need to help move on.

Maybe this will become a pet project if I ever get into modding Black Ops 3.

So the narrative of Bo6 left us in a weird place when if came to Samantha and Richtofen. Seemingly the two souls that escaped the dark aether together were fated to re-enter conflict with eachother.

What we know from Intel in Bo6 is that Samantha and Eddie found themsleves in the same orphanage at some point after escaping the dark aether.

Gabriel Kraft separates them by adopting Richthofen and raising him as his own son.

They both grow up and Richthofen has a family. At some point he does something to piss off the CIA or the American military.

Weaver working on Intel provided to him by Samantha maxis botched an assassination attempt on Richthofen and inedvetedly killed his family.

This sets up Richthofen’s wider motivation to resurrect his family and sets up Requiem to bait Sam and Weaver to be exactly where he needs them to be.

Then the events of Cold War transpire Samantha seals herself and zykov in the dark aether and is presumed lost forever.

Richthofen later creates an AI imitating Samantha’s Personality as a personal assistant but also as a proxy for revenge? (I really don’t know why he did that)

Bo6 transpires and ether Richthofen or S.A.M die. How this effects tge later narrative I don’t know

But this Richthofen was the version of Richthofen that kept his soul before the multiverse collapsed. This was Eddie.

I have a hard time believing they would kill both Samantha and this version of Richthofen permanently given their narrative weight. But perhaps I’m expecting too much. I hope this ramble made sense to some people

it. kind of annoys me how some people are accusing the foreign horse girls of cheating during ep 4. Because like, did what musaka roppei and super creek say just,,,not register? I don’t mean this to be rude, I’m just genuinely confused because they both point out how this is simply a major cultural difference, in how the foreign horse girls are much more used to be being rough with fighting for positions while Japanese horse girls like oguri and tamamo are not.

what the foreign horse girls did might seem rough to us and tamamo and oguri but to them it’s just an everyday normal fight for the preferred position.
