Music

The topic that I choose to talk about this week is music. I am pretty sure that music plays a big part in the lives of people in our CWP class. So I know that I am not the only one. Music has been something that has always stuck to me since day one. for as long as I can remember I have always installed music into my daily life. It is something that I truly love and adore. I use music in all sorts of ways. I use music to motivate me for something like sports. I also use music to mellow me down. Its kind of been like a form of meditation for me. Its very soothing to the mind. When ever I listen to music, I get an overwhelming feeling of joy, happiness and excitement. When ever I have a bad day I tend to listen to music to cheer me up. Whenever I am driving I always listen to music from point A to point B.  If I am walking to class I listen to music. I also listen to music during class depending on the situation(sorry Mary Beth lol). There has been too many situations that .Overall music play a big part in my life.

My favorite genre of music is Hip hop. Hip hop has always played a major role in my life. I grew up around people who loved this kind of music so naturally I grew to have a love for it as well. My favorite hip hop artist is probably Nas. from an overall standpoint, he has had one of the most successful rppers to ever grab a mic. Nas’s music is like magic to me. The words that flow through his mouth has touched the lives of many people. To most people nas is exactly what hip hop is suppose to be. I feel like he’s just an overall great rapper. From his word play, to punch lines, and overall flow. He has had one of the greatest  .He is a rapper worthy of being called one of the best. 

My all time favorite album is “Black Star” by Mos Def and Talib Kweli. The amount of chemistry that Mos def and Talib Kweli is impeccable. This album means so much to because it flows with my thoughts. Its really hard to explain but it does. As a young black man that lives in America, I can relate to this album in many ways.

Week 1 of The NBA

The NBA season is finally here! There has already been tons of highlight plays and games that are at the top of discussion in the sports world. The first topic I want to talk about is the Golden state warriors. For the past three games this team has looked absolutely terrifying. They're already destroying every team in there path and it has only been three games. They look even better than last year. You can tell that there team chemistry is on another level compared to the average NBA team because you can barley find any cracks in there play. There a strong team in almost every category. Not to mention that they have arguably the best player in the league right now in Stephen Curry. The season has just started and he is already looking like a player worthy of MVP conversation. He already has one forty point game and one fifty point game. If the Curry and the Golden State Warriors continue to play the way that they are playing, I wouldn't be surprised if they win back to back NBA championships.

Another team that could stop the Warriors from repeating is the Oklahoma City Thunder. I am really excited about this team this year. They have a brand new coach that was well known throughout the college basketball world. I am definitely glad that they fired Scott brooks as there coach. He did an OK there but I felt that the Thunder should have one a title four years ago. Another thing that bothered me about Scoot Brooks was the way he structured the team. It was all Westbrook and Durant. The carried the whole load offensively without the help of any of there teammates because they were not featured in the offensive. You cant win a championship with just two players. Its really been great to see there team fully healthy and appear to be in mid season form. 

My Philadelphia 76ers are already getting killed by 30 points each night. It looks like its going to be another season of pure struggle for these guys. I cant even tell you the full roster because most of the players on the team consist of players that have not established themselves as quality NBA players. Yet there are still promising players like Nerolens Noel and future rookie of the year prospect Jhalil Okafor. If it was up to me I would fire general manager Sam Hankie and start new. But the possibility of that happening is highly unlikely.

NFL Sunday

Today was yet anther great weekend of NFL football. There was a lot of exciting football games on and I watched a good chunk of every single one of them. I'm not sure why but I was in a really good mood to watch some NFL football today. Probably because I won my football game this past Saturday and our school JV football team won as well. One team that I was very disappointed in was the Buffalo’s very own Bills. they played absolutely pathetic for the first half of there contest against the sluggish Jacksonville Jaguars. Former Bills starting quarterback had to start this week due to Tyson Taylor getting injured two weeks previous to this game. For the first half of this game EJ Emanuel Played absolutely terrible football. He was completely off his rhythm and which was also the exact reason why he lost his starting Job in the first place. He did start playing great football in the second half and because of that they almost came back and won this game. The final score ended up being Jaguars 31 Bills 24.

Another team that was disappointed with was the San Diego Chargers. My favorite team. We were playing the Oakland Raiders. This game also happened to be a huge division game within there divisions as well. Like the Bills game, this game also had an unfortunate ending. Phillip rivers also had a terrible first half. He struggled mightily. But it wasn't just Phillip Rivers, It was the entire Chargers team that struggled in all three categories of the game. That’s offence, defense, and special teams. On defense we could not defend Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper. He is only a rookie and yet he is makes NFL veterans that are well recognized look very bad. In a few years he will be known as the best all around receiver in the game. He has proven that based on his state in the season so far. Anyway the San Diego super Chargers ended up almost coming back due to outstanding second half play. But those were two games that I was very disappointed. 

A team that I was very impressed with this week was the New England Patriots. They Had another amazing showing as they're team record improves to 6-0. Tom Brady has been playing lights out football. To be completely honest I feel that they could end up going undefeated this season but that's only if they keep playing well. overall I felt that this week of NFL football was the best one yet.

Blog topic 6

I really enjoyed this weeks Blog topic. I really learned a lot of new ideas for my project after looking and commenting on other peoples blog. I feel like have a lot to bring to the table after I reading theses blogs. I learned that many people in our class are very creative with there projects. I feel that I can include there concepts and put together the best project in the class  if I really wanted. I feel a lot more confident now that we did this blog because before this, I really wasn’t to sure of myself. I had a hard time coming up with effective ideas that will make my project a diamond in a rough.

Blog#5

  I slept almost until 11 o'clock and I still thought I didn’t have enough sleep. Every day, there is a lot of work to do and I feel I don’t sleep enough every day. I believe everyone has the feeling. Always keep awake until two or three in the morning. I have a friend, he is very busy, almost go to bed every day at three A.M, and in a week, he needs to get up at 5 because he needs to work at 6 in the morning.Why we are not getting enough sleep? Do we really have so many things to do every day? What are we doing every day? Why do we sleep less and less? With these questions, I began to ask my friends. (I only ask them about the weekends, because everyone has different schedules on week days.)   First I asked my boyfriend. He said, he usually get up at 9 in the morning on weekends, and then he spend 30 mins to take a shower, later 9:30 to 10 he needs to  eat the breakfast. And then start playing games from 10 to 11, and then to prepare lunch.  After lunch is his study time. From 12 to 3, he usually writes his homework, and then starts watching movies or TV shows to relax, or if he needs to buy food for the week, about 2 hours. So from 3pm to 5pm is his relaxing time. Starting at 5pm, he needs to perpare the dinner, then eat dinner, probably need to use the last 2 hours. (most of the Chinese food needs to be prepared for at least 1 hours, so every day he needs to spend a lot of time to cook. At the 7pm, he will continue to study and do his homework, he will choose to play games when he needs a rest. He usually go to bed around 12 am, but he used to lie on the bed, watching his phone, so he’s not going to sleep until 1 o'clock somtimes until 2. So I about the statistics, on average (weekends), his daily sleep time is 7 hours, the cooking time is 3.5 hours, the stud time is 6 hours, rest time is 5 hours. Shopping time is 2 hours. Because he doesn’t need to work, so he has plenty of time to relax and rest on the weekend. But from his schedule, it shows that he spend a lot of time on video game and smartphones. This shows that modern technology and the network has become a part of our life, especially in our generation, if the daily life is without a computer, network, smartphones, we will feel that we lost something in our lives, I believe that 99% of people will not not use to live without the network.   And then I asked me another good friend, she and my boyfriend is not the same, she needs to go to work. Every day she sleep 6 hours, 1 hour for a meal, study for 4 hours, 1 hour to take a bath, work 8 hours, the remaining four hours she used to watch movies on the Internet to relax, or play games. Thus, the network has become an inseparable part of the modern people. She is so busy and tired every weekend but she still choose to spend few hours for the internet. So I believe that the Internet is one of the most important reasons that causes us to sleep less and less. Of course I need to do more research to get an answer. My friends around me have given me a lot of help. I will continue to study until I get a more perfect answer.

At first after reading the first few lines of your proposal I thought to myself “ this isn’t blog 5 let me skip to another blog”, but now I’m glad I took the time to read the whole thing. This is beyond an excellent topic to research. Technology has already taken over our world, especially in this generation. It’s a lot about our smart phones and computers. Nine times of ten if a person is not paying attention to something or someone its because of a reasons involving television whether it’s a phone, computer, or even a TV. I am very interested in seeing how your topic 1 project will turn out. I feel that you will do a great job on it. I never really asked myself those questions. What do we do everyday. why do young people such as myself dont sleep as much. its probably because all of the distractions or entertainment in today world. especially in college. In college there is so many things that you can do for entertainment.I feel that this topic will really have a lot of people interested in our class. Many people will probably be thinking the same thing as I.

My Project

I am very happy that for this class, I get to do a project on a topic of my choice. And for my topic I chose to discuss the lying and cheating that goes on within the organization that is the New England Patriots, and the guy that so many love to hate, Tom Brady. In this research project, that now I know so much about research projects thanks to that very, very long article we read about research papers and projects, I will be going through the various steps of a proper research project and following the given guidelines for this specific project. For this project, we have to do a lot of research, which I have done. I have looked up a lot of information on these cheaters called the New England Patriots, and I do not like them. It very well could be because they are the rival team of my favorite team in all of sports, the Buffalo Bills, or maybe it could be because they are just so darn good and I am bitter about it. They go to the Super Bowl every few years, they win the division almost every single year, and worst of all they beat the Bills like 20 out of the last 22 games they played each other. And as much as it pains me to type this right now, despite all of the cheating allegations, Tom Brady might be the best quarterback of all time. They have done everything from “Spy-gate” back in the early 2000′s, more recently “Deflate-gate” which took over Sportscenter and ESPN for about 8 months, and most recently “Headset-gate” and within my project and my web I will delve deeper into each of these scandals. My goal is to get my class and my peers to prove these guys guilty and so that they hate them just as much as I do. Hopefully they are already Patriot haters in the class so I have people to agree with me, and also hopefully there are not any Patriot fans that I have to hear crap from. When I present this project, I plan to create a poster of all of their different scandals and all of the bullshit that this team gets away with and that includes quarterback Tom Brady, head coach Bill Belichick, and team owner Robert Kraft who are all suspicious and most likely guilty for their actions. I do not like the Patriots and I hope one day they get stripped of all of their Super Bowl titles because they are all cheaters. Thanks for reading and I hope you all enjoy my project.

I love your decision for this project. out of all of the topics that I have looked at this one in particular may be my favorite. You sure are right about how everyone hates the Patriots. for me in particular, I dont know one person in my family that actually is a fan of the New England patriots. I felt that they have been cheating for the past four years and only a few incidents have occurred when they have actually gotten caught. I never really understood as to why people hate Tom Brady. But I dont think the hate is going to stop anytime soon. im excited to see your project.

Project #1

I’ve always been fascinated with Criminal Justice, but the aspect of it that attracted me the most is the prison system. The reason for this is because I have come to understand that American prisons have this profound ability to take a person in and over time morph them into a completely different human being. Of course, this is the purpose of prison: taking in a criminal and releasing them as a new, rehabilitated, law-abiding citizen. However, this is an idealistic outcome that often doesn’t happen, and that is because the methods American prisons have for “correcting” inmates are far from effective. The result of this is, ex-convicts are released from prison only to reoffend and get sent back. This is a common phenomenon called recidivism. It doesn’t happen with everyone that gets out of prison, but it happens often enough.

This is a topic I feel really passionate about which is why I want to do my first project on it; specifically on the psychological effects that occur while a person is in prison. To do this, I will have to understand how the prison system itself has the ability to have such a dramatic change on a person’s behavior. What I would need to look for is what kind of punishments inmates have to endure once they are incarcerated, how do the correctional officers treat them, what kind of environment do they live in, and what are they allowed to do in their leisure time. I know that these topics are very general, and all of these factors vary from prison to prison, but I believe if I could get an idea of what typically prison life consists of, I can have something to work with. Also, if I can find interviews of studies that involve former inmates, I would receive valuable information about life in prison.

As for the physical project itself, I was thinking of creating a model of a mini-prison using a box, a slinky, some pens, and hopefully if I can find some,  laser pointers. I want to do this because I think I can create an accurate representation of a prison. By doing this, I want to show how dehumanizing the prison environment is and how it is not benefitting anyone that goes through that system. Also, I want to show how former inmates become so psychologically damaged from being in prison that they cannot function normally in society and as a result, they go back to prison. 

I really hope that by doing this project, I can shed some light on the hardships inmates endure while they are in prison, and long after they are out of prison. Awareness needs to be raised so that prison reform can become a reality.

Maybe most of the TV drama is more dramatic, but I think there is still something real, those things happened in the drama that really happened in real life. People who enter the prison is not really bad, maybe they just too young and they make a mistake, but after they get into the prison, they got some unfair treatment, may have a serious impact on their psychology, and then make some worse things. No one has not made any mistakes in their lives. But for the people who make mistakes, we need help them and bring them back, not pushing them father away from the whole world.

Project 1 topic

My project 1 topic will be on the poorest part in Buffalo. For as long as I can remember I have always been interested in poverty and ways to prevent it. My dream job is have my own charity and travel around the world helping those who are less fortunate than I am. This is a topic that is extremely important to me because I feel that everyone should live on equal terms. Too many people get stuck in unavoidable situations that causes them to be unsuccessful. I want everyone to have the same opportunity that someone like me has had in this country. I Understand that Buffalo is one of the poorest parts in Buffalo so I feel like this will be a great topic to do my project on.  I feel that many people will be interested in our class considering that we are all living in the city for the time being. It would interest some people in this class if I talked about important things in The city of Buffalo. We all know that poverty has been a huge problem here in the United States of America. The city of Buffalo is the one of the poorest cities in America. I would like to come up with something in my project that would address this problem. I want to show what the city has been doing to fix the poverty rates in this specific area. I also want to come up with ways to prevent this problem that we call poverty in that area. statistically the eastern part of Buffalo is the worst part. That area not only has the highest crime rates, This area also is the poorest. But that is expected. When ever you have a poor area you can expect the areas crime rates to be extremely high as well. For my project I plan on demonstrating my topic with a well organized poster. The poster will have Pictures indicates poverty in that particular area. I also plan on having a bunch of statistics as to why this area of Buffalo has not been excelling from an economic standpoint of view. I want pictures on my poster that shows the efforts that have been made by certain people or groups in order to decrease the poverty rates as well. I feel that my project will come out great. If you have any suggestions or ideas please let me know and I will gladly put them into consideration.

Almost basketball season

The NBA season is almost here!!!!!! This is the time of year that I am most excited. I know that I am a football player and all, But I get tired of watching football all the time. I am out there on Coyer field playing football for Buffalo State everyday. I'm always thinking about football. Basketball is my escape from that sport. I'm really excited to see how my Philadelphia 76ers progress this year. I know that we haven't been the best team this past few years due to the fact that we have traded all of our best players away. I'm ecstatic to see my our new rookie Jhalil Okafor that we drafted this past year. Another team that I am looking forward to watching this year is the San Antonio Spurs. I'm really want to see how there basketball team is going to be with their new free agent additions. Now that they have Lamarcus Aldridge many people think that they are the team to beat in the western conference. The Clevland Cavilers are an interesting team to watch this season as well. I want to see how they bounce back after that devastating loss to the Golden State Warriors. For the most poart it looks like they kept their same team from last year fro the most part. But ultimately there season will come down to rather guys like Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Overall I am looking forward to this NBA season this year.

Chargers and Bills

How about those Bills!!! They absolutely destroyed the dolphins today. That was a must win game after that devastating loss to the New England Patriots.Those guys were clicking on all cylinders this week. I think it is pretty safe to say that this years team has a legitimate chance to make it to the playoffs this year. I know that we are only three weeks into the season, but we have to admit that the Buffalo Bills are really really good this year. There defense is definitely a top five in the national football league. I think that its about that time for the Bills to kick things up to the next level. They haven't made the playoffs in about 100 years. 

My favorite teams in the NFL really got there butts kicked to day by the Minnesota Vikings. They lost 31 to 14. the main reason why we lost was because of our offensive line. we could not give Phillip Rivers enough time to do what he does best in the pocket. we were getting throw aourf in there up front. It was absouluty embarrassing. adrain  ended up having over 100 yards on us  with only 20 carries which means that we had a hard time on defense as well. so far my chargers have lost two consecutive games in a row and it looks like it is going to be an extremly long seasonthe quality of being logically or factually sound; soundness or cogency.

Playlists Of My Life

Whether I am standing in a dark crowded venue with blaring guitars and lights, using the rhythm to move my body across a dance floor or humming along to one of my favorite songs while drawing alone in my room, music has always been my gateway to contentment. I live for the moments when I breathe in, open my eyes, and use various playlists to express myself in different ways. Music brings me to a place where I feel most in my element. 

Playlist One ( “Im Spinning”)

This playlist is filled with upbeat, chaotic, indie pop songs that bring life and joy to my soul. I remember the night of the Passion Pit concert. One of the best sensations is being able to feel the intensity of the music in my chest, allowing myself to drown in the music not only emotionally, but literally. As a concert junkie, I never tire of standing in a condensed space with bodies constantly shoving through to reach the stage while I hear nothing but the deafening music canceling out every other sound.  As I let my arms fly high into the sticky air, I notice that I have found my peace of mind.

Playlist Two ( “Ambients/Instrumentals”)

This playlist is filled with extremely powerful songs without lyrics. These songs express a specific mood to which I picture myself dancing. Dancing is another way I use music to guide me into a state of tranquility. I immerse myself with the sounds and allow myself to tell a story by moving to the music. I feel a rush of energy and I allow the music to take over my body. I forget the other bodies are there dancing with me, and I enter my own creation of a world where I am happy. 

Playlist Three ( “ Soft Sound” )

I am filled with bursts of creativity and new ideas while drowning in the songs of this playlist. I able to create a vivid pictures in my mind by simply listening. This music is my escape from reality. When I feel overwhelmed, extremely happy, or angry, I throw my headphones on and listen to this playlist. Sometimes I sprawl out on my bed with my eyes closed and just listen. Other times I take out my sketchbook and let the mood of the music effect the way I move the pencil.

    Each playlist is filled with music that represents different environments where I express myself and feel satisfied. The places where I feel most comfortable and content are those where music is involved. My obsession with concerts, my love for dancing, and the motivation to discover creative ideas have given me playlists for my life. With music, I become the greatest version of myself.

Out of all of the blogs that I have read this, one is by far my favorite. I love how music is such a huge part of your life. Music has played a huge role in my life as well. it is what keeps me sane. I also find it interesting that you are a concert junkie. I have only been to a few concerts in my life. Like you I enjoy listening to instrumentals as well. songs without lyrics can be just as powerful as songs with lyrics. Listening to nice smooth instrumentals is hobby of mine because it calms my mind down. I really enjoyed reading this blog.

Inventory

What makes a good writer? I believe a good writer must grab the attention of his audience and captivate them through their entire piece to submerge them into what they are reading. As a writer I believe a strength I have is getting my point across to the reader very clearly. I make sure they walk away with a full understanding of what I have written and don’t leave feeling confused. I also believe my pieces are very smooth and free flowing almost as if I am just in conversation with the reader, and lastly I am very good I feel personally at making connections back in my writing being able to tie a lot of my papers together for good conclusions. But obviously no ones perfect especially not me, with my writing I make silly or stupid mistakes usually involving grammar, punctuation, or even sentence structure. Which honestly puts me at a sub par writing level for where I believe I should be at this time in my college career. One topic I enjoy writing about is the evolution of the word race and how it has changed over time and separated towns, states and even countries. Just the fact that a 4 letter word with such little definitional meaning can cause so much damage over time. A few things I enjoy to do in my free time consist of working out, running, playing or training for football, having bonfires, going out on the boat going for a bike ride, or just relaxing and watching college or professional football. Ultimately, I loving being outdoors and being active, just the freedom you can have mentally by being physically active and living a healthy lifestyle is just an unbelievable feeling. Throughout this semester i’m looking to improve and come as close to perfecting my writing as possible. I’m looking to clean up my sentences improve and cut down on simple mistakes and become more formal and respectable in my addresses. I want to be able to walk out of this class and be able to walk into the job market feeling confident in what I can bring to the table at a respective place of employment that will help me in my career endeavours for the future. I will hopefully achieve this by using the tools and resources i’m provided with by you to better understand how to better myself in this field using things such as the book and your constructive criticism to not only get through the class but to prepare myself for the next task that lies ahead. The most important part though is that you do give me the constructive criticism necessary to push me to improve in these areas I have addressed need improvement and even other areas you believe I need improvement in that I don’t see myself. Also to show me maybe what I did wrong specifically and how or what I can do next time to fix the mistakes I have made to improve each and every time in my writing.

Based off of what I read, It seems that you have all of the needed tools to become an excellent writer. like you, I also believe that grabbing the attention of the audience that I am writing to to is extremely important. I like how you talked about clearly getting the message through your audience. that Is something that should not be taken lightly because your audience needs to know what they are reading, otherwise they would end of confused and no longer interested in your writing. Overall I sound like you are an extremely creative writer that continues to get better. I really look forward to reading your future work.

First Blog! Yeah!!

This is the first post for my blog. Exciting! Right now is Sunday morning and I just start writing it. I was playing computer game for the whole day yesterday and I went out for Buffalo Wild Wings with my friends. Here is the thing I have to say, Never, Ever, order SPICY GARLIC flavor from Buffalo Wild Wings. The smell almost made me cry. It smells so sour!!!   Actually at the beginning of this semester, I had my new semester revolution, doing exercise everyday. But after one week, I give up. I can’t weak up early on the weekend. After I woke up around 10, I will start doing my homework, if it is Sunday, otherwise I will just play computer games. I always play Diablo and Hearthstone. I love those games! There is nothing to do but killing all the monsters from the game in Diablo, but I still loves it! I think I will never change. I just love to stay home and playing games everyday. My father thought I am very stupid for just staying home doing nothing but games. I will like it! In high school, I stayed home watching anime everyday, after I went to college; I still stay home all the time. But sometimes I will go to shopping with my friends. I went to shopping with my friend on Friday. It was quite empty in Walden Galleria mall. I thought it would be busy after the new IPhone 6s released. But I think I went too early. The new pink IPhones were not in store yet. I am not a person likes to buy a lot of stuff. My favorite shopping places are actually supermarket. My friends go for shopping and I am only doing window-shopping. I save all my money for food. I have few friends save money for buying expensive bags, shoes or clothes. I never do that. I rather spend money for delicious food. I love all kinds of food, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, everything tastes well, I will go for them. But I don’t like to cook. Usually people who loves food loves cooking, but I am not one of them. I hate cooking. There was only one time I spend 5 hours making the cake, ‘Lady M’. Besides that, I never make cakes anymore. I might try to make a green tea flavor Lady M in the future, but I don’t know if that is going to be before graduation or after I married. Who knows?

It sounds like we have quiet a few things in common. I enjoy playing video games whenever I get the chance to as well. although I dont get to play much because of the fact that I am a student athlete. Another thing that we have in common is that we both love watching anime shows. I would love to know what kind of anime’s you watch because I bet that they're great shows that I would enjoy a lot. I also like the fact that you save your money because that is a great trait that can prove to be very rewarding. Saving money is something everyone should do because it can come a long ways.

blog post number 1

My name is John Navarro and I am a journalism major who does not particularly like to write. The plan for when I applied to college as a journalism major was to be a sports guy for the local news or something like that but since then, I have kind of lost interest. I like to write about things that interest me though. For example, I can write all day about football or movies or something because those two things are my two big passions. Football is the biggest part of my life, I believe that it is one of the most competitive and toughest sports to play in the world. In third grade I decided that I wanted to play football, so my parents signed me up for little league. After my first day, some older kid hit me so hard that I instantly thought that I did not want to play anymore, then I went to my dad and he told me that “that’s football”, so i got back out there and it changed my life. I played five years in little league, and my final year I had to make the weight of 135 to play in the game, I weighed about 140 the morning of the game, I didn’t eat anything that day, put on multiple layers of sweatshirts and went behind the field and ran until I couldn’t run anymore. I took off the sweatshirts and stepped on the scale, it said 135 exactly. That moment taught me if i work hard enough for what I want, nothing is impossible. I continued my playing career throughout high school and now into college. I learned one of the most important lessons my senior year of high school. I was voted captain of the team and led the team on to the field game in and game out, when it came to the last game of the year before the playoffs and I thought I broke my finger, so I had the trainer wrap it up and I returned to the game and continued playing. The trainer told me after the game that it would probably be best if i went and saw a doctor just to make sure that I would be okay. So I went to the doctors and they told me that I had a ruptured tendon in my finger and that I would be out for 3 months. I took it pretty hard but then I realized I had two choices, I can sit here and cry about it or I can be a leader to this team that needs me. I chose to continue being a captain to that great team and still showed up to every practice and game after that. This taught me to never give up and sometimes I just have to take what life gives me.

along with you football is also my life except i hadn’t started until i was a sophomore in high school. Playing the game changed my life and made me who i am today building me up and putting me through things that will better prepare me for life when i’m no longer able to play ball anymore. injuries like that are tough to stay strong through im currently going through the same thing currently with my foot but im going to use this story as motivation to be a better leader and still hold a role on the team now seeing as you did so as well.

I really enjoyed reading your blog. I can totally relate to what you wrote. Like you, football is a huge passion of mines ass well. Its pretty obvious that you are playing the greatest sport in the world. It also plays a huge role in my life today. for guys like us, we wouldn't know where we would be without this amazing sport. I can see where you are coming from as far as your major goes. The kind of job that you are pursuing sounds really cool and interesting. I can definitely see you excelling in a job as a sports reporter. overall this is a great blog.

The difference between High school and college

Its crazy to think that I am over a year out of school. Everything is happening so fast. Its as if my life is flashing before my eyes. Things here in college is a lot different from back in high school. The one big difference that I notice is the independence. I no longer have people climbing all over my back, telling me to do things. I must get everything done on my own. I dont have my parents with me pushing or forcing me to get my work done. coming to college, I had to learn how to use my time management wisely. I had to learn how to use this not only because of education but also because of the fact that I am a student athlete. last year as a freshman here at Buffalo State I had a hard time managing my time but now that I have experience I am a lot better at it. Anther huge difference between high school and college is the teachers/professors. Teachers in high school were a lot more strict. It was their way or the highway. things had to get done in a certain manner or order, and I felt that You had to learn in a certain way in high school that some students may not be accustomed to. In college the teachers are a lot more open minded when it come to situations of that nature. I feel like in college, you are free to learn in whichever way you choose. teachers in college allow their students to be a lot more free in many ways. most college teachers wont be hard on you because you are expected to get the work done. they understand that we are all young adults and that there should be no excuses as to why work is not being done. In High school I feel that everything is handed to you. People guide you to success your success. In college that is the complete opposite. you must go out get get everything on your own. you wont have an academic  adviser hounding over you telling you to keep up with certain things. Everything must be done independently. In high school I was fortunate enough to have football coaches and teachers care about me enough to do what ever it takes for me to pass and move on. In college our not going to have a teacher follow your every step. That is what I have learned over the course of my time here at Buffalo state college.

looking back

Taking a look back at this semester I really accomplished a lot for my CWP class. We did three major projects. every single one took major time and effort to complete. I remember the first project that I did way back in the beginning of the first semester. my topic seemed relatively easy. I decided to talk about how the time I switched from public school to private school. But I had a hard time trying to convey my essay into a way that my teacher (Mary Beth) see’s fitting and appropriate. But after talking to Mary Beth Everything became so much easier. She allows her students to be free and open with their writing and that makes writing more interesting to me. after our first project the other two became much easier. Looking back on this semester for CWP i also learned a lot from our blogs that we do here on tumblr. I've learned that a lot of people in our class really do have creative minds that can produce great writing. Tumblr has become a way for me to pick other peoples brains so that my writing can become more productive. hopefully whenever I blogged something someone from our class became a better writer because of it. My favorite part of my our CWP class was the group readings and discussions. The reason why is because I always learned something new coming out of those discussions and I loved it. It was kind of like a tv show. The class being the players and Mary Beth being the host. Everyone in the class got involved as the discussions got more in depth and more interesting. Over the past 15 weeks in this CWP class I have become a better writer. Theirs not doubt about that. It is these fifteen weeks in this class where I expanded my creativity and my writing abilities. I appreciate every bit of it. Thank all of you guys for a great semester.
