Hmm. I have NEVER been so glad to be wearing a #helmet... 😳 I was extremely conscious of just one thought as I felt my #head hit the road at speed and heard the crunch and felt the helmet deform underneath me: "If the helmet wasn't there, that noise would be my skull deforming..." As someone who always thought it was a bit of a pain to have to wear a helmet, and occasionally didn't, consider me converted! Way back in October 2015, one of my first blog posts for the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism concerned the then-new law that banned smoking in cars with children in them – See blog post here – and some of the interviewees expressed their doubts about how the law was going to be enforced. 

Well, eight months later, it seemed that they were right, and in June 2016,  not a single fine had been imposed.
