8/9/27 updating & revising & expanding on Daisy Mae’s fnaf verse ! i also want to note that the time line is 100% adaptable of course. this can all occur in the 80's or the 2020's or whenever else ! ( it's so long i'm so sorry ) ** deleted the other reblogs bc i decided to move this updated version to its own post.
-> daisy mae ( 21 ) and her daughter mabel ( 4 ) relocated from baton rouge, louisiana to hurricane, utah following daisy mae's tumultuous divorce from her abusive husband when she was eighteen and their daughter was two years old. an incident where her ex's neglectful / careless actions very nearly resulted in mabel's death during his designated weekend with her stripped him entirely of any partial custody he was wrongfully given in the first place. but since no death occured he was essentially given a slap on the wrist as far as punishments go. her ex proceeded to stalk and harass her and by extension mabel, and the police were of no help.
all she could do was file restraining order which of course didn't do anything to help her feel actually safe. when nathaniel showed up to three year old mabel's preschool to try and pick her up, and attempted to bully the staff into letting him inside. daisy mae made up her mind to leave with mabel permanently. it was an elaborate plan, she pretended that she was moving to seatle, washington. she enlisted the help of a friend with a similiar build to drive her own car quite a ways towards seattle knowing nathaniel would follow. while she used a rental car to head towards utah.
-> a year later and they finally felt almost fully settled, daisy mae wasn't constantly looking over her shoulder and mabel was making friends, not having nightmares about daddy either. even getting an invite to attend a birthday party at freddy fazbear's pizzeria. ( or the mega pizzaplex if it's 2020's ). the four year had been begging to go since they would pass by it while driving home. the neon lights and friendly looking waving bear with the bow-tie, the little girl was enthralled. and before she was invited, daisy mae did in fact surprise her with an outing there.
little mabel became a bit hyperfixated on the characters on the stage. though it altered a little every now and then her ranking in general went foxy, freddy, chica, and bonnie. but she liked them all very much. she went home with a foxy plush, a freddy fazbear pizzera coloring book, and a few character themed candy bars.
-> just a few weeks later is when the birthday occurred and daisy mae who is normally so vigilant looks away from her daughter for all of 2 minutes and 20 seconds and then never sees her again. despite there not being a body found the amount of blood found strongly suggests murder. daisy mae will hold onto the barely stable hope that her daughter survived whatever or whoever attacked her but in the deepest pit of her stomach she knows she's gone. she knew it the moment they handed her one of her fairly new butterfly sneakers splattered in blood in an evidence bag to confirm it was hers.
-> mabel's death was murky enough that the pizzeria was able to argue it wasn't even clear if it happened on their property. they were also quick to point the finger at daisy mae. which yes she looked away from her kid for two minutes thinking she'd be fine because she'd been to this place before and thought it was safe. she thought hey there's a bunch of people around, mostly people i know. mabel knew not to talk to strangers **. daisy mae was ultimately naive and it cost her everything.
** this is not to put any blame on the four year old at all, it is to just emphasize why daisy mae thought it'd be fine to not have her eyes glued on her daughter every second. daisy mae didn't consider that a monster in a friendly looking yellow rabbit costume would successfully lure and manipulate her daughter into going with him. mabel reasoned that her mommy said not to talk to strangers but the mascots / animatronics were friends to all kids right ? even if this one wasn't on the stages he was still a very nice looking rabbit. ( she even asked him if he was best friends or perhaps brothers with bonnie )
-> convinced that if mabel is truly dead, her spirit may still very well linger at the pizzeria, a heartbroken daisy mae becomes obsessed and when she's not hounding local law enforcement to try and get some semblance of justice and/or find her daughter; she's frequenting the location on a regular basis attempting to make contact with her baby. part of her prays that she won't ever make contact, since it would confirm what she already knows that mabel is gone and not just lost but alive somewhere. but if her spirit does linger, daisy mae wants her to know her mama's still there and hasn't left her.
