Left picture- June 2017, 150 lbs Right picture- August 2017, 140 lbs I took the after picture (right) a few months ago, so I need to update my progress once I see a distinct difference in my body. But if you could see visual progress in my mind set, you’d believe me when I said eating MOSTLY plant based has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my life. I’ve struggled with anorexia in the past, and with it came a lot of issues with food that has affected me for 10 years now. The left photos were taken after I moved to Los Angeles in April with my boyfriend. It was the first time I ever lived without family, and the first time I’ve ever dealt with stress from finances and jumping from job to job just to pay half the rent. After stepping on the scale and realizing I had gained 20 POUNDS in TWO MONTHS, I decided to give the doctor a visit. A doctor...not so qualified to give me fitness advice, in my opinion. She told me not to lift weights, to only do cardio, and be sure to include lean meat in every meal. I informed her about weights not being something any girl should be scared of. And I decided that basically everything she told me had to have been bullshit. I watched a documentary shortly after called “What the Health”, and decided to start eating plant based. It was scary as hell the first couple days. I was scared I would just put on weight because of all the carbs...but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was so brain washed my whole life to think we needed meat and dairy, I never thought to give it up almost completely. I tried paleo, keto, Atkins, literally everything besides going plant based. And anytime I was on one of those diets, I would gain the weight back THE MOMENT I went over 1200 calories a day. But now, even though I don’t restrict myself to only foods that are plant based, I have lost 15 pounds (I had lost ten in my “after picture”), I’ve create such a better relationship with food, and even if I don’t count calories for a few days, I don’t gain ANY weight. I still count calories most days, but I’m not obsessive over it. And eventually I will intuitive eat, but it’s a process. I have eaten animal products on occasion since starting this new phase, and I don’t know if I will ever be 100% plant based, as I want to make sure I don’t create a negative mind set toward ANY food. But my goal is for my diet to be almost completely plant based, 24/7 except for on rare occasion, for right NOW. I think veganism has been brought to light so much recently, that people think they have to go big or go home. “Eat as much as you want as long as it’s vegan!” Well it’s not such an easy transition for people who’ve eaten meat and dairy their whole life sometimes. Sometimes it takes a while to transition 100%, and even then, you can still gain weight eating as much as you’d like. But for ME, eating plant based so far has made me lose weight without gaining it back, created a healthy mindset for me, and took the guilt away with eating animal products. I still have 5 pounds to lose until I’m at the weight I was before moving to LA, but I’m not stressing out over it. I’m HAPPY! And that’s what matters most. I couldn’t recommend this lifestyle more.
Abortion.
In this post I talk about my emotional experience after I received an abortion. I encourage anybody who is thinking of having one to read this. I also encourage anybody who is against abortion to read it. When deciding whether or not to go through with my abortion, I wish I was informed, with all of the extensive research that I had done, about the emotions I may feel afterwards. No pro-life bullshit. No making it sound like rainbows and butterfly's either. I am pro-choice, and ask of anybody who reads this to respect my decision in courageously making my choice to get an abortion, known in this post. It takes a lot of courage to put this in front of 10,000 peoples faces. So anywho, this is how I feel. Okay, so. If you've ever had your heart broken, you know it hurts. It hurts bad. Your heart aches and you want that person back but you know there's a reason why you broke up. But at the same time you don't really care, you just want them with you. Right? This is what abortion feels like, but multiply that feeling times 100. At least for me- this is the amount of pain I feel. But the difference is, I can't have them back. They're gone. And they're gone because of the decision I made. And you know how when you break up with somebody you have at least one person telling you, "you'll find somebody one day", "There are plenty of fish in the sea", or something along those lines? My dad actually told me "Don't worry, you'll have a baby one day." Which is pretty much saying "there are other fish in the sea, Ashley." Well all I think about when I think of having another baby one day, is that baby is not going to be the same baby I was carrying three weeks ago. There are other fish in the sea? I never even got to meet my first fish, and I still want that same damn fish. But in the future. But that's not an option. Once that fish is gone, its gone forever. And you'll have another fish one day but it won't be the same fish (okay I'm done with the fish analogy). Anyways, that's when the grieving started to sink in. When I realized I would never have the chance to experience this baby's laugh, smile, bad habits, good habits, etc. That's when I started mourning over this child that I had given up. But the thing about mourning over a baby you aborted, is nobody really thinks you'd need to grieve. Nobody is coming by my place to give me a casserole, no funeral is in order, nobody is wearing all black for my babies sake. None of that is happening because most people wouldn't see this person as a loved one, most people see this person as a mistake that I had made. And I know the pain will subside and I'll eventually be able to live a whole day without thinking about them constantly. But I also feel as though I don't want that day to come. Because as much as other people wouldn't think of it this way, I respect the life that I chose to end. People have told me that I'm irresponsible, careless and two people have also called me a murderer. Well to many people's surprise, I'm not careless. I'm not irresponsible. I actually had the abortion because I thought it was the responsible thing to do. I'm a nanny. I have been for 9 years now. And I know what a child entails. That's something I know I'm not ready for, but by no means does it mean I didn't love my baby. It was THE hardest decision I ever had to make. I know there will not be a day that goes by that I won't think of how old they would be at that moment, what kind of stuff they would have had to overcome that day, that year. What their hobbies would be. What their first word would have been. This is the kind of stuff I will probably never stop thinking about. I don't know if after I have a kid in the future if this decision will make me feel worse, or if I'll feel better about it. Its all a gamble. But that's the kind of risk you choose to take when you get an abortion. I chose to make this post in hopes to educate anybody who might be getting an abortion that there might be emotional hurdles that you'll have to get through. Actually, there will most definitely be hurdles that you'll have to go through. But there is counseling for it, in which I highly recommend. This post is also for the pro-life supporters who have a pre conceived notion of those who have gotten abortions. (I know that a lot of pro-life people do not agree with harassment, but it is a very relevant issue that we don't talk enough about.) Unless you have personally gotten an abortion, you will never know how it is. There is always a reason somebody chooses to to abort their baby, and it is likely the hardest thing they've ever done. If you're one of the people out there who disagrees with somebody's decision to abort, please take into consideration of what I shared in this post and think twice the next time you harass a mother going through this. And if you are someone who has gone through this already, or is thinking about aborting, always know I'm here if you need to talk to somebody who will not judge you.
INTUITIVE EATING
Hi friends! I'm starting a new journey- one that I hope will be permanent. And I invite you to start it with me if: You are unhappy with your body, want to shed some pounds, find yourself stressed because of all the different diets you have tried, or just flat out want to be a happier and more present individual in life. That's RIGHT! I'm officially dropping the diets and starting a new intuitive eating LIFESTYLE. This is the first time in 10 YEARS I am not going to be counting calories. I've counted calories since I was 12 years old and all its done for me was helped me develop a horrible relationship with food, made me depressed and caused eating disorders. So after 10 years I'm finally saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I crave healthy foods and I find I'm a happier individual when I eat healthier so I'm going to be starting intuitive dieting. This way I'm able to maintain friendships and my relationship and do things every day I enjoy doing because a diet isn't going to be holding me back for the first time in my adult life. I'll be taking you with me along this journey because....I'll have the energy to do so! So if you want to see "low calorie meals", posts on restrictive dieting or anything to do with fad diets, I'd encourage you to either change your perspective or unfollow me because you won't be seeing any of that crap on my blog anymore! Love you all and talk soon!:)
5 Rules Every Person on a Fitness Journey Should Follow
1. Don't be so fucking hard on yourself. 2. Your body is someone's goal body. Appreciate that ish. 3. You're young. Don't spend all of your young years focused on how to be better. Live on the present because you're pretty great already. 4. Remind yourself every day how far you've come. Not just physically but mentally too. 5. Go after your fitness goals but don't neglect your friends, family and other things you enjoy doing.
How to have a bikini body:
Step one: Have a bikini. Step two: Have a body.
Done.
Day 1 vs day 9 of my 16 week fitness plan. Not huge differences at all, but I don't expect big changes this early in the game. Plus a few days in between I had drank during the night time... Heh heh. Anyways, 134 lbs on the left and 132.8 on the right. Trying to build the booty but not succeeding yet
BACK AT IT! I've started a 16 week transformation on Jan 10th!!!!! Check my blog out to follow me on the journey :) I'll be posting transformation pics, meals, workouts, etc. throughout the weeks!

4 Ingredient Cottage Cheese Stuffed Chicken!!! It looks a liiiitle strange but oh my god. Its delicious. And 310 calories, SUPER low carb and very high protein! All you need is chicken breast, cottage cheese, kale and green onion. I used a hammer to flatten the raw, thawed out chicken breast. Then rolled cottage cheese, kale and the green onion in it. Topped it with salt and pepper and stapled it all together with toothpicks. Cook at 375 for about 45 minutes and you got yourself a healthy meal. YOURE WELCOME.
#1 rule for those who are ever around somebody who has an eating disorder/recovering from an eating disorder/used to have an eating disorder: NEVER, and I mean NEVER, comment on how much they are eating. If you think its a lot, keep it to yourself. Doesn’t matter how long ago they were suffering, that voice is always buried in their head and can EASILY be brought out if they hear somebody say that how much they are eating is a lot or if it can be interpreted that way at all.
I feel so relaxed now! Thanks, random internet GIF!
in case you need this tonight.
