“Hope so too. But if there was a ring, that begs the question of where did it go?” She replies with a snort before flopping back against the pillow again and letting out a soft groan. “I feel like hell.”

“I wish I could give you an answer, but my mind’s a blank.” If he focuses, he can get a flash or two of running into her, but he knows the memories are only going to get worse from there. “You and me both. Wanna go downstairs and get some breakfast? It might help with the hangover.” Although he’s not sure he’s ready to deal with the noise.

“The risk of students trying to replicate rituals that should not be done in modern times is an occupational hazard. I just trust they’re going to do the right thing.” Perhaps it was a naive hope, but Ra barely had the time or energy to concern himself further with his students. 

“…do you think it might actually be of any use?” 

“...okay just try not to show them anything that could potentially like, blow up the school or summon a hoard of demons or something like that, because eventually one of them will pull it off and then it becomes a problem for all of us.” And that was definitely not a mess that he wanted to deal with.

“Maybe? I think it would work, but it’s really only useful if you have evil coming around your home.”

“You’re welcome.” She replies with the slightest of smiles. And if Kate weren’t a Hawkeye, maybe this would be weirder. Honestly? After being around Clint, nothing surprised her anymore. “Well hey, maybe you proposed.” Kate says with a chuckle. “I don’t really remember much of anything.”

“Maybe. I hope it was with a decent enough ring,” he joked. “It’s all kind of a blur. Hopefully some of it comes back, but honestly that might make everything worse.” At this point he wouldn’t be shocked if he’d gotten her a ring pop and proposed with that.

Katherine Martinez. Eh. It wasn’t awful at least. Could have been much worse. “I think we should at least try. And no offense taken. I mean you’ve… very attractive but uh… usually like  to date a guy for a while before I think about… you know, marrying him.”

“...thanks?” It’s hardly the first time he’s been called attractive, especially since his first career was, well, as a model. But he’ll never quite know how to respond to things like that. “But agreed. Dating is usually a good place to start. An engagement is a pretty good next step.”

“Right…” He doesn’t know her real name. Question was, on whatever marriage shit she signed, did she use her real name or an alias? Should she give him her real name? Crap. “Kate. Uh…. Cisco, right?”

“Francisco Martinez, but yeah. I usually go by Cisco. I guess you’re the new Mrs. Martinez...” What a weird thought. He’s not sure he ever imagined getting married and certainly not like this. “Do you think we can get this thing annulled? No offense, but I think we'll likely be better off if we do.”

“I would never actually advise my students to kill anything. Though, I do believe it’s important to look at all aspects of the religion, even the gritty parts.” He himself had yet to go as far as making any sort of living sacrifice, but he’d delved into a number of other unsavory rituals. There was very little he wouldn’t do to gain just that much more experience. “Did there happen to be anything less disgusting mixed in there?” 

“Fair. Maybe discourage them from doing it, though. Sort of a ‘don’t try this at home’ disclaimer. I’ve seen students do some really dumb things.” Mostly during his time as a student, but he doubted much had changed over the years. “Yeah, there was one spell that was for warding off evil from the home. A really old one, but no blood sacrifices required so at least there’s that.”

“Yeah… can’t say I have either.” She replies, glancing over to the male. “Kind of at least a little bit funny though, right? I mean what are the chances we’d both be in Vegas at the same time and then run into each other?”

“I’d guess they were high enough to not be impossible, seeing as we’re here.” It doesn’t seem particularly likely, though, he must admit. He frowns slightly, looking over at her. “It occurs to me that, well, I don’t actually even know your name.” At least not her real name.

“It would appear that way.” She flops back down against the mattress, heaving out a heavy sigh. new york new york population. “Guess it was nice to see you again.”

“Apparently very nice. Apparently, ‘let’s get married’ nice. Which I don’t think is all that common. I’ve definitely never experienced it before.” There’s a first time for everything, he supposes. This is something he could have gone without experiencing for a first time, however.
