That cards seems an awful lot like the page of cups from the tarot

one of this cards most common meanings is that new love is aproaching or simply falling in love and this scene is right before he meets alberto and that would mean that alberto is his love and he will fall for him and i just cant

interpreting the line "you got me off the island, Luca" as in Alberto didn't want to leave because even though he had stopped counting the days, he wanted to stay there in case his dad came back. he didn't even go to the human town by himself even tho he could have if he wanted to since all they really had to do was swim over

and also the fact that almost the entire movie was Alberto helping out Luca, even up to the end where he sold the vespa (which was originally HIS dream to have one) so that Luca could go to school :")
