“What is this? Have you actually strayed away from your script to spend a little time partying, hm?” Drew teased as he gave the girl a gentle nudge and moved to settle beside her. “I kind of feel like it’d be stupid to miss out on this. It only happens occasionally. It’s a nice way to just relax.”

“I know right? I’m a little surprised myself,” Billie let out a light laugh at his comment as he moved to sit beside her. “I guess it’s nice. Not much is going on but perhaps that’s not so bad,” she shrugged, looking around at others attending the party before looking to him. “Did you come with anybody or are you flying solo tonight?”

“Where did you buy this from?” Sofìa asked, smelling the drink before taking a small sip. “Is it… Can you taste the mango in it?” 

“Buy it? It’s one of the beverages offered for free at the refreshments table,” Billie almost snorted in amusement. “Oh yeah I mean... it’s fruit punch flavored. Any other fruits you’re picking up on there, Sherlock?”

“If that’s neither of us...” Billie held her breath for a moment as she looked around. “What do you suggest we do then?”

Nearly, every campfire get-together Drake gave everyone the fuck-you salute and went off to jump from building to building. He took it as his time to shine. However, this was different. It was his last year at the Academy, and he was feeling sentimental. Drake had stockpiled a bunch of liquor into the back of a pick-up truck he borrowed and brought it over. He might have skimmed off the top at various stores when they weren’t looking, but who was going to stop him? It was all in good faith and a potential cheery disposition among acquaintances. Drake patted on the roof of the truck, “Now we can get this party started!” He shouted. Drake hopped off the car and opening up the huge amount of liquor to the masses. “And just for you,” He pointed at the nearby person. “As the booze king. I’ll give you something special. What do you want?” He asked.

“Well that certainly depends,” Billie replied with a quirked brow, clearly not impressed by the other’s entrance. “Are you expecting something in return down the line? Or are you truly being thoughtful with no ulterior motives?” she asked, looking a little skeptically at the other.

“Okay so this is the part where you tell me that was just your stomach and we turn back to go get some s’mores,” Billie spoke, eyeing the other nervously. “Please tell me that’s the case here?”

“Ah, and what is it you are rehearsing for this time?” Drew couldn’t help but ask curiously as he leaned in to get a better look. “And no, I have a day off. Occasionally I’m allowed those and I thought I’d use it to just… power down completely you know? I tried sleeping in but that was a massive fail so I settled for a coffee run instead because i’m sure I’ll be grateful of it later.”

“Honestly? Just another one of those cop shows,” Billie admitted with a sigh. “If I got this, I’d least I’d have a speaking role. Last time I was just corpse number three.” The redhead was so passionate, but just couldn’t quite make her big break. “They actually give you days off over at HQ? Shocker,” she teased. “Can they summon you with some sort of Bat Signal whenever need be?” Belinda added the question playfully. “Oooh– coffee,” she cooed. “Have any extra for me?”

“Hey! You don’t know who my dad is. Maybe you should be nicer towards me. He can probably help you land the role, or something.” He lied through his teeth. Drake couldn’t stop the lie the minute it left his lips, but now he was going to have to roll with it. “If you’re a good actress you need to make me care. Can’t just care about a nobody.” He reasoned. 

“You’re right– I don’t. But I have a feeling I don’t care,” she replied simply. Even if this guy turned out to have a famous dad, Belinda’s pride always got the best of her and she wouldn’t play nice just for the opportunity. “I am a good actress,” Billie said all too desperately, having to dial herself back. “I am,” she said more calmly. “But I don’t have to make you anything. You’re not a casting director nor a producer.”

“Ooo aren’t you in a chippy mood.” Drake scoffed as he sat in front of her. He plucked the script out of her hand quickly skimming it over. “Which one are you.” He asked flipping through the pages. He got bored and handed it back over to her. “What’s it even for?” 

Billie’s gaze narrowed at the other as the script was plucked from her grip. “Why so many questions? It’s not like you care– or could be any help,” she scoffed simply, yanking the script as he handed it back to her.

“I mean, with the color of my hair that might actually be debatable.” Drew stated with a grin as he slid into the seat opposite before he was invited. “You make it sound like you really don’t want my company.”

Billie let out a light snort at his reply as Drew slid into the booth despite her light protests. “It’s nothing personal– I usually don’t want anyone’s company when I’m rehearsing,” she pointed out. “So, no hero work today or something?”

“Ouch, salt in the would Billie. Salt. In. The Wound.” Hugo commented dramatically, placing his hand over his heart as he looked to his twin. “After that remark maybe I’ll retract the offer I was going to make which was to run lines with you- and to get you pie.”

“And everyone says that I’m a drama queen,” Belinda teased her brother with a grin. “My favorite scene partner and pie? How could you deprive me of the perfect combination?” she gasped, pouting before breaking into a soft laugh. “Is there nothing I can do to convince you to avoid retracting your offer?”

“Listen I just got a whole new script I need to memorize by tomorrow so unless you’ve broken a limb or you’ve accidentally set your hair on fire– I don’t want to hear it,” Billie sighed, trying to dismiss the other from her table so she could focus.
