“Thank you,” Beckett said with a nod of acknowledgement. He knew he hadn’t always been the most responsible person but that didn’t mean he couldn’t change and he hoped that this would show Sofia that. He wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to get her back but hat didn’t mean he couldn’t be in her life and Harper’s, “Burgers, okay let’s do burgers. I wonder if the diner is still any good,” He said, “Have you taken her there yet?” They’d had many a date in the diner or at least spent a lot of time there. It was reasonably priced and easy to get to and casual and had fast food. What more could teenagers ask for?
Sofìa was trying. She wanted to trust in and believe in him but it was easier said than done. Every time she thought about Beckett, thoughts of how he was in high school kept circling her mind. “Oh, I hope it’s still good. If it’s gone downhill, I’ll just have to move again.” Sofìa exaggerated, a wide smile quickly moving across her features as she thought about the diner and their past dates there. “Not yet, I’ve been cooking for her every night but she’s already getting sick of my cooking. I don’t think I’ve been there since we moved- have you?”
