"You should be a marriage counselor," Barry joked. Honestly, though, Barry figured that Billy lacked the patience to actively make sure that people could and would repair their relationships. Billy Batson was a kind heart, a good soul, but at times he was unsure of himself, and unable to truly see from others’ points of views if they weren’t similar to his, no matter how hard he tried.
Patting Billy’s back, Barry laughed. “Thanks, man, for real," he said. It was good to have a friend like Billy. The boy was endlessly loyal, and he was kind, and smart, and wise - probably from those Shazam powers of his. He didn’t really understand it, and he didn’t think that the boy did either.
Noticing something flash in the boy’s eye for a brief moment, Barry raised a brow. “You okay, though?"
He felt as if there was something Billy was keeping from him, and it was something he didn’t like. He just told Billy the biggest problem going on in his life at the moment, and he expected just as must honesty in return. He hadn’t told anybody about his troubles with Iris, and yet Billy Batson just drew it out of him.
"I'm fine," Billy answered swiftly. It wasn't to deflect anything - it was the simple truth. He was fine. It was just that others weren't. People were living under oppression and fear, but Billy Batson was just a-okay, if not a little miffed by the circumstances in which his charges were living in, and although it wasn't easily overlooked, the boy was nonetheless fine.
He arched a brow. "You think I can't take care of myself?" Or you think that there might be something wrong with the way I just can't stop looking at you perpetually? Have you caught onto my little boy crush antics? Please don't have. I really hate it when things like this happen. I'd prefer not to be a blushing schoolgirl, thanks.
"And really, marriage counseling?" Billy scoffed. "I'm a sixteen year-old boy. Rage and hormones and stuff, right? Not exactly therapeutic material, dude. Unless you're into that sort of thing, I guess." He shrugged.
