Some Headcanons about Seraph biology
- They average at about 6’6 in women and 6’9 in men, though can and do exceed 7 feet (and in rare cases, 8 feet.). It is quite common for Seraphs to assume a slightly hunched posture.
- Much like people with giantism, Seraphs have long and wide hands and feet, broad shoulders and pronounced facial features.
- Unique to Seraphs however are their disproportionately large eyes, bulbous eyelids and wide mouths, and their unnaturally coloured skin, typically blue, green or pale white, but occasionally yellow, purple or grey. This skin often has a slightly translucent, wet appearance regardless of the environment, with some resemblance to earthen materials like clay or mud.
- They have to eat far more to accommodate for their height and weight. While humans can subsist off of three meals a day, Seraphs need to snack constantly.
- Their voices are often deeper due to their size. Due to their altered anatomy (such as larger lungs and distorted voice boxes) their voices may sound uncanny to human ears. Some compare them to trumpets and other wind instruments.
- Low temporal stability can cause a build up of physical and psychological symptoms that vary from seraph to seraph, such as vomiting, migraines, a fast heart rate, and muscle contractions. Seraphs often recall a coppery, metallic smell permeating the air and tainting the food they ate during periods of low stability, or within the eight hour period preceding a temporal storm.
- Seraphs sleeping while a temporal storm forms will wake up in a hyper-active state. They may experience nightmares and spasms before the event.
