With the GameOverse pilot coming out, I thought it’d be nice to revisit the original NES game that started the franchise
Now, I know the pilot is based on the 2003 PS2 game, but not only do I not own a PS2, this game (even if it flopped) is what started the whole thing so it only feels right to begin here (definitely not because I’m too lazy to download an emulator, cough cough)
And yes, it’s a ROM. As far as I know, the game was only released in spanish and italian for some reason, so this is a translated version by yours truly, heh
WERE FINALLY OUT OF THE FUCKING TRENCHES. WE HAVE A SEASON 2 RELEASE DATE
I mean....
There is something sad about how many side characters die in OPLA, im one to say Oda really should kill his characters more often but man...
It hurts when even useless Mr. 9 and the replacement marine captain of Shellstown die. They dont get to dream anymore, and we will never see them again wondering what they're doing
Do NOT play Mewgenics that shit is distilled crack, all my fucking good cats keep being lesbian and fucking each other.... mlthey only make offspring with non binary one... fuck
Something something, being forced into the technology you dont understand or care about... something something metaphor for women in men spaces forced to adapt to toxic environments something something

youjo senki is the one story where when im looking for fics ill actively seek out crossovers
because i love reading about tanya being put in situations
like the setup is usually trivial: tanya dies, usually in combat, and is reincarnated in the crossover setting of choice
and it's hilarious every time to see her particular brand of mental illness interact with her new circumstances, wether it's "overly serious in a funny moe way" or "oh fuck oh shit oh no"
so anyway i just read 2 crossover fics in succession. specifically uma musume and 40k. hilariously consistent characterisation
why is she like this
What i imagine taylor was wearing to have bugs on hand
"Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki)" TV Anime Season 2 new informations is coming!
Air Date: 2026
why does this meme have just an image of ibuprofen like a fucking mario game
Do NOT make your first game in a game jam. You're going to be stressed, and it will shitty and destroy your seelp schedule...
Anyways, i did submit pne for the GMTK gamejam 2025.... as my first game

Anyways im gonna go back to sleep... did learn like 2 things about it
Really like the headcanon that the amount of dying will flames types a person has is equivalent to the amount of times they have been close to death.
Makes Gokudera having 5 of them all the more tragic. Poor guy probably got one of them blowing himself up at some point
Some stuff in thinking about the strawhats being inspired by some fictional stereotypes, which seems to fit in.
Luffy - peasant turned king - King arthur, Sun wukong and King David. Mainly because luffy is seemingly a random kid from the botton of the hierarchy, but he is actually the chosen one in some way.
Zoro - wandering ronin - No liege, aimless but honorable. For some reason, his last name is french? (Roronoa comes from Francois Lolonois) , also in one piece european swordsmen are stronger ever since Kaido reached wano. So maybe there is something there.
Nami - femme fatale, witch? - this one is harder, Robin Hood is clearly there at the start, but with the way she hoards wealth and makes unfair deals, you could argue she is some sorts of weather witch.
Ussop - cmon - the boy who cried wolf, pinocchio, the giant bean stalk, aesopp, probably the character with most references to fiction.
Sanji - prince - straight up a prince, a gallant knight, for some reason takes the role of princess in whole cake island, there is some tokusatsu there.
Chopper - reindeer/monster - Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, all the stuff about the yeti.
Robin - archeologist - Indiana Jones and the like.
This was mainly a thought about how whales represent change, especially in fables and fairytales.
So on rewatch, the Gorosei first appearance made me chuckle because they talk about not letting Luffy get away with beating Sir Crocodile.
With all the new reveals and stuff, it is silly that they didn't go all out, taking into account what they knew. But on second thought, what could they possibly do that they didn't try? Like, in order of events after Jaya.
Luffy went into the sky to fight God.
An admiral spared him, just because.
Got spared by CP9, the offcial assassination squad of the World government, because robin let herself be captured.
Beat CP9, a buster call, and fled successfully on an operation shouldn't have worked.
Got spared by Garp.
Beat another warlord, but at least barely managed to survive.
Got spared again, by another warlord this time.
Got saved by the same warlord, while they had sent another Admiral after his ass.
Broke into, out of, and reach marineford while they were on maximun security... SOMEHOW.
Didn't get killed in marineford. To be fair, they had other, more urgent problems.
Didn't manage to capture him in Sabaody nor in Punk hazard.
Doflamingo whole shtick got outsmarted, and bite the world government in their ass.
Motherfucker kept getting saved by magic silver bullets, and they did kill him in wano and he still lived. No wonder they think the fruit is evading them with all the bullshit Luffy survives.
Although most shows or series take place on earth, you have to take into account that they are technically a different earth.
So, if something out of the ordinary happens and isn't acknowledged by bystander or extras, it's because it probably is far more common in that world.
It's obvious in hindsight, but a twelve year old me only realized this while watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn, where they explain that the superpowered mafiosos were around and even participated in World War 2. So a guy straight up nearly killing highscoolers on a daily basis is by far not that weird all things considered.
