If you’re on the verge of adulthood and you feel like you have no idea what ‘adulting’ is, you might want to check out some of these books. Here’s a list of some daunting “grown up” books that range from self help to finance:
Rich dad poor dad- I had to start with a personal finance book because lets face it, us millennials have no idea where to start with personal finances. This book was written quiet a while ago but its still relevant and easy to read. I read this book when I was 15 and I still re-read it every year to freshen up. It does a great job of introducing you to the relationship you’ll want to have with your money
The life changing magic of tidying up- One of my all time favorites! (it pleases my inner Monica Geller) if you want to go into adulthood having a healthy relationship with the objects you buy, this is the one for you. Marie Kondo has a wealth of knowledge on efficient cleaning/ tidying methods that actually make a huge difference in helping you maintain a clear mind and a happy living space.
The 48 laws of power- ‘nuff said. Learning how powerful people work doesn’t necessarily mean you have to employ these tactics, but it’s important to recognize them when they’re being used on you.
Girl Boss- This one is popular for a reason; if you wanna know to grow a business with little capital on the internet, this is your go to. A great read, regardless if you wanna go into business or not.
5 Love languages- Another popular one. This book will help you understand communication in relationships (not just romantic ones). You can never go wrong with learning how to effectively communicate your love to the people most important to you.
Come as You Are: The Surprising New Science that Will Transform Your Sex Life- A book about female sexuality; A super insightful read regardless if you’re sexually active or not.
Freakonomics- Literally one of the most interesting books ever created. If you’re an econ geek like me or just wanna know the hidden economics of how the world works, this will be a good read for you. This is one of those books that you can never unread.
How to win friends and influence people- Similar to the 48 laws of power but with its own twist. This teaches you how to navigate the tricky world of making fiends or networking.
The Telomere Effect: A Revolutionary Approach to Living Younger, Healthier, Longer- A sciency approach to health and wellness. A perfect read to get informed about your health.
Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ- Emotional health is just as important physical health. You’re never too young to tend to your emotional well being and this book is just the place to start.
Ok, so that’s my round up of ‘grown up’ books. I hope you enjoyed and that this helped you to realize that books about life and self improvement are not just for adults. You can prepare for the life you want, you don’t have to wait for it.
7 ways to seem richer than you are
1.Always get in and out of a car elegantly. When approaching the door, stand with your butt facing the seat. Get your legs together, bend your knees and sit before sliding your legs into the car. Never spread your legs or jump in and out of a car. When leaving a car, wait for him to get the door, keep your knees together and slide them out first before leading over and standing up. 2. Have a basic knowledge of the expensive part of town. Know the major streets, landmarks… and most importantly, where the stores are.
3. Work on your penmanship. Write neatly and know how to write in cursive. I’ve actually had an SD who said “Penmanship is how I tell the difference between posers and real money. Poor woman write like toddlers. “
4. Make sure your outfits are worn correctly. Make sure they fit correctly. Iron your clothes. Take care of rips, holes and missing buttons. Don’t mix metals. Make sure your shoes are clean. Don’t wear anything that needs to be adjusted or fixed every few minutes.
5. Understand money. Know the other major currencies and how they relate to the dollar. A Lot of high-end websites list prices in euros or pounds. You should have a close estimate of how much it is in dollars.
6. Start reading the news and understand what’s going on in the world, not just the stuff your friends put on facebook. I like bbc world news, wall street journal, Forbes and the business of fashion.
7. Always be on time. Wealthy people are busy and have tight schedules. Know how long it takes to get ready, plan your commute with google maps and be aware of things that can you late.

Indigenous Australians have had stories about giant kangaroos and wombats for thousands of years, and European settlers just kinda assumed they were myths. Cut to more recently when evidence of megafauna was discovered, giant versions of Australian animals that died out 41 000 years ago.

Skincare and Beauty Recommendations
For all you babes, I made a list of my must have stuff to look the best you can go scam an SD
Body- Lush Ro Argan. This stuff is the bomb. It’s a body conditioner that smells like roses and honey. Smear that good stuff all over you and let it sit for five minutes. Wash it off and your body will be soft and smooth, no other products needed. I’ve used this stuff for five years and every person that gets a whiff of it compliments me. Guys go crazy for this scent, especially in the bed room downtown haha.JUST GET IT! You get a shower and body cream in one!
Face Cream- Laneige Water Bank Cream. This shit makes my face look like it’s been kissed by an angel. So dewy and soft! I feel like I look much younger when I apply this because it hydrates so well. Perfect to use if you want something that traps the moisture in your face and is lightweight. I’ve noticed the dehydration wrinkles I had around my eyes and mouth have diminished. My makeup goes on like a dream after I apply this.
Face- Kojic acid soap. I use this soap for my uneven skin tone and acne spots. I barely wear foundation because it cleared up my clogged pores and hyperpigmenation. Dirt cheap off Amazon. Haven’t had a major breakout since I used this the past 3 years.
Perfume- Tom Ford private Collection comes in 12 scents. With mainstream brands, I feel like ALL WOMEN’s FRAGRANCES smell the same and give me a headache. Too sweet, floral, romantic, too much alcohol, etc.Now, this collection ain’t cheap, so, get a sample from your local department store. They give it to you in a cute vial and box and the sales associates are super knowledgeable about scents. THIS STUFF LASTS A LONG TIME! I wear the Tobacco Vanille all year round. Literally, this scent is my confident booster, I smell unique and luxurious! And the scent projects like a beast, so a 4 ML sample will last you cause all thats needed is a small dab for the day! I used to buy decants off eBay to save £££ until I got me a SD to buy me the 100 ML hehe.
Sunscreen- Elta SPF 40. This stuff is the best sunscreen on the market and all the dermatologists I’ve seen recommended it. No white cast and absorbs into skin fast, it’s also super moisturizing!
Hair- Bumble Bee Invisible Oil. If you have frizzy, dry, damaged, natural, thick hair, this SHIT IS THE BOMB. This is the only product that works on my hair when I wear it curly and straighten it. It does the job, smells great, and my hair looks so glossy and healthy….best of all it doesn’t weight my hair down or feel greasy.
Mascara- Lacome Hypnose is the only thing I use on my lashes in the past six years. I will NEVER STRAY from Lacome’s mascara products. It makes my eyes look amazing and it’s easy to take off at night. Don’t like the other brands like Benefit or Too Faced which are hard to remove at night.
Makeup Remover- Clinique Take Off the Day Balm. Your makeup literally will melt off when you wash your face with this! I used so many different brands from wipes to oil to alcohol and none of them worked as well as this.
Lipstick- Nars Velvet Lip Pencil in Bahama is the best nude/rosy color out there for all girls IMO. I use the Train Bleu colour (quite vampy) when going out at night and always got compliments! Because it’s a jumbo pencil lippy, you can line your lips easily and fill it in! Lasts all night! Taylor Swift uses their Dragon Girl shade as her signature red colour according to the makeup artist that showed me.! Best secret lippies around!
Foundation- Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk is a game changer. My skin looks radiant, dewy, and natural which no other foundation has given me. Everyone raves about it and I wish I listened earlier and quit wasting my money at MAC and Estee Lauder.
Concealer- Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer- If you don’t like wearing foundation, this concealer is all you need then. It hides my dark eye circles and any redness on my face like a PRO. Comes with a wand so you don’t need to use anything else when applying it!

Hey guys, tomorrow is September 30th and in Canada (More specifically Manitoba) we call this day Orange Shirt Day. Orange Shirt Day is a day to remember those who survived residential schools and those who didn’t. We do this by wearing orange.
If you don’t know what residential schools are, let me tell you a tiny bit about it. Residential schools were schools made by the Canadian government for Indigenous children. They took kids away from their homes from 6-16 to a school ran by the church for over 100 years.
Children were often faced with mental, physical, and sexual abuse. Many lost their Indigenous identity and some children even died. They died from many causes like starvation, abuse, hyperthermia, and some went undocumented.
You’re probably thinking, “then don’t send your children.” Well, like the Canadian government always does, they made a new law. The law was that all Indigenous children had to go and if the parents refused, they would go to jail and their children would be taken anyways.
Just think about that. Canada is “celebrating” 150 years, so that means there is less than 50 years of Indigenous children not going to these schools.
Why is this important today? Well, if you think about it, 50 years isn’t that too long ago. We still have residential school survivors that are alive. If you’re abused your whole childhood and into your teenage years, it would be hard to cope. It would be hard to make peace. It would be hard to parent a child when you were never treated like a child should be.
Although some had positive experiences at these schools, we cannot ignore the fact that many did not and that trauma needs to be talked about.
I only mentioned a few things about these schools. There is so much more. So I really encourage everyone who sees this to read more about residential schools, to spread this around, and to wear orange on the 30th. Indigenous issues mean a lot to me so I would love it so much if people break the slience and learn more and talk about it. The way to move forward isn’t just to apologize, it’s to talk about it.

best and fastest ways to get clear skin ✨
i’ve had acne before and still sometimes struggle w it so here is what works best and it is guaranteed !!!!
1) aloe vera - literally buy the actual leaf, cut it and use the gel on your face daily !! you can mix it with other things as well, like i sometimes mix it with lemon juice
2) rice water - moisturizes your skin but also helps with scars
3) benzoyl and peroxide gel - you probably need a prescription for this one but its for acne and really saved my life !!! works super fast and soooo well
4) vitamin e - get yourself a small bottle and apply it at nighttime!
5) exfoliate !!! - i use St Ives green tea exfoliator but you can use whatever works
6) baby lotion - this is for people with dry skin (but anyone can do this) , i dont use scented lotions. baby lotion works best especially since my skin gets dry in the winter
7) lush dark angels - i recommend going into lush and telling them what your skin type is, they’ll give you the products that work best for you. I got dark angels which is like a charcoal face wash and it helped get rid of some bumps !
I’ll update this as my skincare routine changes but for now i promise these are all amazing and work super well!!! just sharing with everyone because i know having bad skin isnt fun and ive been insecure about before
