I do think Berdly must have SOMETHING to do in the final chapters at least. Feels like his stuff in chapter 2 hasn’t completely finished yet, like he’s an unresolved plot thread. And it’s interesting to me that they included the detail of Seth liking him in chapter 5. Like maybe that and his brief appearance at the festival are there to remind us he’s still around, so it’s not too jarring when he shows up again. Maybe it even has something to do with the weird route skipping chapter 6. Maybe that’s when he’ll be important, so the weird route had to skip it because it won’t work without him? Although you can still cancel the route even after hospitalizing him, so maybe not. Idk, just feels to me like he’s not “done” yet, but maybe that’s just me wanting to see more of him.
