āDiamond x Pearl REWRITEā is both a ārewriteā of BDSP & a second story in the Hisui region of old involving my & my husbandās trainers, Ansy & Ikrit, along with their ancestors Mizumi & Sasmu, as they travel along with a pair of familiar monochromatic train twins.
The title āREWRITEā also refers to how in both Diamond & Pearl as well as Legends Arceus someone wanted to ārewriteā the world, & how this story reimagines modern Sinnoh if it included more from Legends Arceus (among other things, hehe).

āļø Iām NOT sharing this for internet points, do not give me internet points - I just wanna raise awareness.
So the heatwave has reached us over here (gonna be like 98-100+ š« ). No worries about us though - weāve got good AC at home & at work, Iām making cold hiyashi ramen tonight, got my āsunbrellaā, etc.
Itās still unbearably hot when I go outside though, so I wanted a smoothie. I went to this one place, & found they had no AC - all they had was a fan / open door, & it was very hot in there. š„
If you come across a place / business with no AC in this heat, here are a couple things you can immediately do to help if you feel up to it:
Ask what the situation is.
Call the shopping center &/or general manager or owner of that location as a concerned customer.
Make a post online to raise awareness of the situation (keep it simple with nothing accusatory - just like āthis place has no ACā)
If youād like to bring them some water or something to help them stay hydrated / cool, just call ahead to see if they have rules about it or whatever.
(This one didnāt happen, but just to emphasize) if someone is having a medical emergency aka a heat stroke / fainted, call 911!
Journal Entry X/XX - As Miss Ansy prepared some much-needed fuel for our journey with Miss Koko, Mr. Link & I explored the Ring Ruins in search for clues regarding the Fifth Sage. Using his remarkable āHidden Moveā Ascend, we were able to enter the Ring Ruins held aloft by a valley. There, we had discovered a strange stone slab.
Mr. Tauro, leader of the Zonai Survey Team, was able to decipher the ancient text Link photographed with his Purah Pad. The name āMineruā was discovered, as was the next stop on our route: the āland of dragonsā, deep within Faronās rainforests.
My instinct tells me we will find an answer to those mysteriously familiar yet unfamiliar Constructsā¦I am sure of itā¦
As it is, I can almost sense my lanternās steady blue flame telling me that this is the correct track to take.
I survived that workweek. Somehow. š®āšØ & finally got a day off.
I was thinking of doing a little good news, art therapy thing today, work on that Hero of Bombs series, but first! In honor of Ingo exploring the Depths with Link, Iām very proud to share the lore accurate (for HoB), completed map of the Depths! \878/
As Iāve shared in that recent string of comics, the Depths is pitch black & the map is empty until you activate the Light Roots. This is the very first time I went & found each one! Thereās a lot of danger down there - all that purple you see are Gloom that can ābreakā your hearts until you have Sunny foods, reach a Light Root, or return to the surface to recover. Also Gloom monsters, giant Froxes, etc. So I usually never bother exploring down there very much (scaryyyyy >u<).
Itās very fascinating - all rivers & bodies of water on the Surface are giant cliff faces in the Depths. I also felt it was a reference to the very first Legend of Zelda, where thereās an Underworld you have to explore, & eventually defeat Ganon. Also itās funny how all the Light Roots are under shrines on the Surface, & have a name thatās the opposite of the shrine (Sinonoyk Light Root = Kyononis shrine).
Okay. Thatās it. XD Now have some pretty pictures of some of the main places of interest during Ingoās Fifth Sage quest š£
Hi-ho, Parasol Lady Ansy (& Sora!) here again š§ļøāļø
With a reminder about heat sickness in light of the extreme heat warnings weāre getting in France & in the US this week or so.
Heat-related deaths in at least France have been rising, so please, please, PLEASE do what you can to stay safe! Have enough cool water on hand (& also eat cooling foods with enough salt to retain said water), wear brighter, lightweight clothes, avoid direct sunlight whenever & however you can (use a dark or dark-underside umbrella like mine), etc.
Heat sickness is not something to take lightly, or just brush off / tough out. If you start to feel lightheaded, weak, very thirsty, nauseous, etc. please take care of yourself. š¢
In the US, weāre forecasted to have record-breaking heat in the east, as well as wildfire conditions in the west. Not good.
If you or someone you know is unhoused (or under-housed, especially when it comes to access to AC or power), we do have emergency cooling centers they can go to. They have a website where you can search where to find one in your state. āļø
You can also come to the public library - many have water fountains, & most of us have HVAC systems (canāt promise the quality, but itās better than nothing) as well as free WiFi for you to chill out safely out of the heat. I think some of us may also have some cooling resources as well - better check the libraryās website for more details before going. š
As for you guys out west, be sure to do what you can do to prevent wildfires. I know nothing about that being on the generally wetter east coast (currently more in drought / flood / storm conditions), so hereās a helpful guide by the NOAA.
Journal Entry X/XX ā We had reached our destination in Hyrule Castle, & confronted the Demon Kingās puppet of Princess Zelda. We had a wild encounter en route with Constructs unlike all the ones we have seen on previous routes. I myself felt a shiver down my spine at the sight of them. They were familiar, but in a twisted wayā¦Even now, I feel as though I am on the cusp of remembering somethingā¦at least enough to know what I saw was āwrongā.
Miss Ansy seemed to notice, & inquired as much. She seemed to want to say something, but stopped herself. Perhaps she can clarify in the future.
ā¦Just who was I before I came to Hyrule?
ā
(I really wanna draw the other Sages on their own sometime āš») Yes, I purposely echoed some of the words Ingo said in Legends Arceus, as I have in a couple comics here & there. Just made sense.
Iām hoping to post twice a week, but weāll see this week since I work 6 days straight š
Iāve been wanting to do this for a long while now - share Ingoās version of The Fifth Sage quest. š
āThe Fifth Sageā follows Linkās journey to find Mineruās Secret Stone within the Spirit Temple. Originally, I thought Ingoās would be more or less the same with only a couple changes (eg. facing the Seized Memory aka a corrupted memory of his brother instead of the Seized Construct), but as this AU progressed, more changed š
Itās gonna be like a small prologue comic, then single panel entries to accompany one music track from that quest (the whole soundtrack is excellent, the ones around this quest especially so šµ) & if Iām feeling braveā¦an animatic. ouo;
I was thinking about that Ask I answered about keeping cool in summer. Iāve been having some easy, cooling meals lately, so Iād thought Iād share them. ^_^
Hereās that cold soba I mentioned in the Ask (another popular noodle is somen, but I usually have this buckwheat soba). Yes, thatās an ice cube. š§ You dip the noodles into this soba sauce & it cools you right down. =u=
Easy breezy š Just boil the noodles, & rinse in cold water until cool (if you have time, chill it in the fridge for a few minutes before eating). If you donāt have easy access to the ingredients, you can always explore other chilled noodles (eg. pasta salad, or hiyashi ramen! I just use instant noodles which most people can get). š
Typically itās served with cucumbers - those (& tomatoes!) are in season, are pretty cheap, & have a lot of water content, so I eat those a lot in the summer like my little snack plates:
My lunch lately - just little cut veggies & cheese sticks wrapped in deli ham. š š„š„ Almost zero effort, not too expensive, & very customizable. >u<
Again, best if you chill it for a little bit before eating, especially on those really hot days.
This is my favorite hotdog - itās got cheddar cheese, avocado slices, & this pineapple-mango salsa I got from the store (more like a pico de gallo but I didnāt name it lol). I can (& have!) make it at home, but well. >u> The heat makes me lazy, & itās also hard not making a TON. šš„
I have to thank that one Hawaiian place (I think it was Puka Dog?) I saw on the Food Network when I was a kid around the Coney Island hotdog contest - they had all these tropical fruit sauces & I was just like āI MUST TRY ITā.
The hotdog was warm, but the āsalsaā was cool, & the avocado balanced it all out. If youāre looking to try something different for your summer BBQās, give it a try! ^o^/ š
Oh! I also discovered these Mexican mini chocolate-dipped ice cream bars that came in coconut, banana, & strawberry - nice little sweet treat >u<
Iāve been saving the strawberry ones for when Ikrit came back from his work trip, so I can say the coconut & banana are great (coconutās like a Mounds bar while banana reminded me of moon pies >u<) š„„šš
I also like these Korean taiyaki ice creams (kinda like a soft cone in the shape of a fish based on a Japanese & Korean pastry thatās kinda like a stuffed waffle. My favoriteās the matcha red bean. šµ
Of course, I also love a good soft serve or just a couple scoops at home like an economic overheating person lol (or get the best of both worlds with a carton of Blue Bunny soft serve!) šØ
Whatāre some of your favorite summer foods? āļø
(lol another repost - I love this little season series >u<) Hereās where I spend most of my time hiding under an umbrella or inside with the AC & my water bottle š«
Today Iām making a sunny peach cobbler for the Fatherās Day BBQ. š»
āļø Also decided to include The Depths flora to the collection, even though none of it is edible lol.
It really was fun & interesting to show the journey of Tears of the Kingdom / Hero of Bombs through the many ingredients & materials they encountered through every part of Hyrule. Link / Iād make so many different foods or Elixirs in every place, while Ingo would dutifully maintain his throwing arsenal. šæ
Iāve got another HoB project in the works, one Iāve thought about for a long time. Hope you like that, too. 8u8
So, I wrote this elsewhere online, & I wanted to share it here, since I think itās important.
A lesson on positivity from a Parasol Lady: donāt let negative people steal your joy āļø
(Long version below - TW for mention of trauma & emotional abuse)
ā
I made a comment about seeing a glimpse of world peace at the World Cup, how happy & hopeful this has been, & agreeing with others online whoāve been saying people still like us American people while (rightfully) hating the current government.
A bunch of people (many being Americans themselves) decided to come out of the woodwork to tell me how Iām wrong. They scolded me for celebrating this moment, said how they actually hate us, & basically how we should all continuously feel bad to show we care about fixing this mess.
At first, that really stole all joy & hope Iāve been feeling, the most Iāve felt around here in about a year & a half.
After I slept on it, I remembered how my abusers LOVED to do that, too - any time I felt happy or accomplished something, I was never allowed to celebrate it. I was never allowed to relax, & enjoy the good moments when they came, because to them, it meant I didnāt care.
It didnāt make me care more. It just made me the most miserable, isolated, & hopeless person. Whatās more, it was a way for them to keep mistreating me more easily, because someone without hope or joy are less likely to do or say anything about it.
ā
Joy is survival. Hope is survival. Joy & hope are revolutionary.
Seeing the whole truth is important; acknowledging the bad thatās going on, or the work that has to be done is important. Ignoring that is injustice.
Itās also okay, even vital, to celebrate when good happens. Doesnāt mean we forgot, or weāre ignoring the uglier parts of the truth. Itās just also seeing the truth that something worth celebrating happened. āŗļø
Like, tomorrowās the summer solstice - we still celebrate the longest day, even as it marks the slow return of darkness leading to autumn & winter. š»
So the next time someone wants to be like āit doesnāt matter / no one cares / here are all the reasons youāre a bad person for celebrating right nowā, you can just let them know theyāre not helping even one person, & theyāre just a joy-thief.
North of Hyrule Castle lies the Great Hyrule Forest. Surrounded by a lake & veiled by mist, the trees hold many secrets. At the center is Korok Forest, shaded by the Great Deku Treeās flowering branches. A haven to all manner of forest life, the innocent Koroks are only too happy to share their mushroomy treasures. š³š
Or at least, they normally do: they & the forest were eerily silent when we made it there. The source came in the form of Phantom Ganon inside the Great Deku Tree, spreading a miasma of Gloom. Once the forest was purified, the Great Deku Tree told Link where he can find the Master Sword, the final key to Ganondorfās defeatā¦š”ļø
ā
Thatās it for this little local ingredient series! Thanks for following along ^0^/
The tropical Faron region lies to the southwest of Hyrule, with a dense rainforest full of Zonai ruins giving way to the coast & a small slice of paradise: Lurelin Village, home of the renown Azure Bay. Rain often storms through the forests, filling it with life, & food: while Hearty Durians no longer grow here, Zapshrooms & Mighty Thistles gives travelers the strength to brave the many storms & velts of this region. āļøš“
Having freed Lurelin Village from pirates, we traveled through the dense rainforest, still following the path to the Fifth Sage. A path through the massive cumulonimbus was cleared, revealing the Thunderhead Isles in the sky, which lead to Dragonhead Isle, floating above Tobioās Hollow. There, in The Depths below, Ingo found answers to the questions he had in his heartā¦& having braved through that with his friends, was handed the title of Sage of Spirit from the last Zonai, Mineru. š¤
Under the shadow of Dueling Peaks is West Necluda, & along the many winding paths, one can find Kakariko Village, home of the Sheikah people. A quiet ninja village filled with flowering plum trees & ingredients that increases oneās stealth, it has since gotten more attention with the Ring Ruins that fell from the sky into their hillsides, & the Ring Garlands a young Sheikah girl started to weave. šæ
Link came here with his isekaied companions to investigate the Ring Ruins, following leads concerning a Fifth Sageā¦more on that later šļø
Along the southeastern coast & just beneath snowy Mount Lanayru is East Necluda. There one can find Hateno Village, the capital of agriculture, dairy products, & recently, fashion. šāš«š„
Link encountered some folks around Hyrule sporting mushroom-themed outfits or hats resembling mushroom caps. Once he & his isekaied companions stepped into Hateno, we saw why: the fashionista Cece had taken over the town with her love of mushrooms. After sorting things out between her & the mayor (I refused to be a part of the mushroom bribery lol), the mayor revealed & shared his newly bred crop of Sun Pumpkins to go with the recently revived art of creating Hateno Cheese. š§
