I might be one of the only people that loves that Sarah’s heroine never ends up with the first guy she falls in love with like almost every other ya/na book out there. It’s refreshing. I was expecting a Rowan or Rhys equivalent to come along in the next Crescent City book so I am a little disappointed 😂

I’ve seen some anti-Elriel posts calling out how it doesn’t make sense that some Elriels hate the mating bond with Lucien but want one with Azriel.

Here’s my two cents on the matter.

My thing is, I love the idea of mates when its two people who genuinely feel fated together, like they were meant for each other. I can say that about Rowan and Aelin, and Feyre and Rhysand. They give you those soul-matey feels even before the mating bond was confirmed.

I can’t say that about Lucien and Elain. I love them both to pieces, but they feel wrong for each other. Even when Feyre thought Rhys was her enemy, there was a magnetic pull, this undeniable chemistry. For me, Lucien and Elain are just painfully uncomfortable and so opposite that its like two pieces of different puzzles you’re trying to force to fit. 

Azriel and Elain on the other hand literally clicked from their very first scene. There was this instant sense of comfort and ease, like they belong together. For me, THEY give off those soul-matey feels. 

So it’s not that I’m against Elain having a mating bond. It’s that I’d want her to have one with someone who genuinely feels like they were meant for her–to be mated to the person she would choose bond or no bond.

What I want is for her to be the first person to forge a mating bond of choice.

If you’re happy about the tv series then good for you I hope you get what you want from it but I can never unsee the actors and it’s gonna ruin the books for me a little bit 😂 I’m stressed who they are going to cast as our unearthly beautiful characters. And Azriel! Does the perfect actor even exist???

One argument I often see against Elriel is that they are not mates. But to me the idea that Elain and Azriel’s love for each other could be stronger than the coveted mate bond - is way more meaningful and romantic.

Seeing all the Elain hate just makes me love her more. Some SJM fans are so used to a certain kind of heroine that they forget that women can be quiet AND strong-willed, indecisive AND powerful. They are not all fierce, confident battle-trained characters. It doesn’t make Elain any less. And if she is not for you? Then fair enough - we still have Aelin, Feyre, Bryce, Fury, Manon, Mor, Amren etc. But I need a character like Elain, not another carbon copy of your typical YA lead, because frankly if she was like the others I’d be bored.

Okay so I haven’t watched Supernatural past season 1 because I wanted to wait and see how Destiel was handled. I get too involved in shows and ships and didn’t want to watch to be disappointed, is that really how they’re going to end it? Are there more episodes or seasons to come yet?

Stressing about what the a court of silver flames cover is going to look like because I went and bought the ugly new covers I couldn’t get the originals. My ocd is not going to let me get acosf if is comes out in the original designs because they have to match 😂 Why did they have to change them?

I’m sorry but is this real? I haven’t been watching because the 100 isn’t on in the UK BUT WHAT THE FUCK!? I lost Ben Solo and Bellamy within 12 months. I’m actually numb. I’m shocked but not at the same time. 13 year old me was so naive and innocent to what was to become of her fave fictional men.
