@bisexualsaregreat
Starting to think the B in LGBTQ stands for burnt out
The only universal truth that exists about bisexuals is that their attraction is not limited to one gender.
I personally witnessed this type of racist, retaliatory behavior by the Minneapolis police department back in 2016. Philando Castile had just been murdered live on Facebook. The incident was fearlessly broadcasted by his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds. Remember her? Iâll never forget the voice of her four year old daughter in the background of the video, pleading with her mom to cooperate because she didnât want the cops to shoot her, too. The very next next day I turned a corner in Minneapolis where I happened to be living for the summer. I came upon an unarmed black man sprawled on his stomach in the middle of a vacant parking lot. His arms were raised to the sky, as high as they could possibly go in that vulnerable position, as three cops stood in a circle surrounding him, each with their gun pointed at his head. I froze. The copsâ eyes darted from me to the compliant man laying face down on the ground to each other as I nervously removed my phone from my pocket. I pointed it directly at the cops, who in turn lowered their weapons, detained the man and put him in the backseat of the squad car. The next day I turned a corner in another part of the city. This time I watched a white security guard slam a black man up against a brick wall. He was trying to wrestle a brown paper bag from the mans hand, accusing him of public intoxication. This time I didnât freeze. I took out my phone and pointed it at the white guard until the situation de-escalated. When the guard removed the bottle from the bag, it was only orange juice. I realized then that I had surely observed this type of behavior throughout my life, that I was raised with reruns of COPS blaring in the background of my white suburban childhood. I had been conditioned to overlook police aggression towards people of color as somehow normal. I could no longer be passive with my privilege if witnessing and documenting these moments might diffuse a lethal situation. Ever since that weekend I have made it a rule to drop whatever Iâm doing, pull out my phone, and point it directly at any cop I happen upon who is merely interacting with a black person. There are no videos of these incidents because in the moment Iâm always too shaken to switch my camera setting from photo to video or hit record. It is terrifying for anyone to confront a cop, and it is hard to imagine how scared Philando Castile must have felt in his final moments on earth. Iâm still amazed that Diamond had the composure to not only film the murder of her boyfriend, but broadcast it live and narrate it for the whole world to see â directly in the face of Philandoâs killers. It is heartbreaking to imagine how frightened that little girl in the backseat must still be to this day, how the sound of sirens will haunt her for the rest of her life. I grieve for Minneapolis, for America, for the family of George Floyd. We must all meet this moment and do whatever we can to dismantle a system of white supremacist violence that harms us all.

Oh hi! Iâm bi!
Joe Biden Is Hillary Clinton With A Dick
A mostly centrist stance, until itâs politically solvent to challenge the status quo. A typical politician with typical flaws. Decades of good-natured accomplishments that are peppered with problematic moments. The establishment favorite. Calm and calculated. Experience. Experience. Experience.
Joe Biden is Hillary Clinton with a dick. If she had one, it too would lean slightly to the left. And yet, Joe is seen as the best person to beat Donald Trump in 2020. If Hillary went for it, well â that would be ludicrous.
Personally, Iâve wanted Hillary to jump in the race since the day after the 2016 election. I wanted her to defy the media, who didnât wait a wink to declare that her political career was clearly now over forever. One day, sheâs expected to become the leader of the free world and the next, we never want to see her face or hear her name again.
Despite her fiery self-reinvention as a give-no-shits public speaker, author, and activist in the subsequent years. Despite how she earned 3 million+ more votes than that asshole who usurped her job. Bitch won the popular vote, despite what we now know was a coordinated attack against her by a hostile foreign government. Despite all of that â and still to this day - she is the most qualified human being who has ever sought the highest office in the land.
And still. Hillary Clinton, 2020? Get the fuck out of here. Itâs time for Joe.
Thatâs right. Joe Biden. Whoâs older than her. Whoâs biggest advantage is a mere association with the President we all miss. The retired guy whoâs riding the heels of his former boss. The guy who is only a little bit creepy with women. Good oleâ reliable Joe. If anyone can take down that monsterâ
Democrats, what the fuck are we thinking? This is the MeToo era! Womenâs rights are being eroded. Children are being locked in cages. We NEED a nurturer, a femme, a goddess to beat Donald Trump, who just this week dismissed another rape accusation because the victim "wasn't his type". Yet nobody seems to think that the woman who already has beat him at the polls should try to scrub this stain on American history herself.
We fucked it up by playing it safe in 2016. We were ready for fundamental change and we clung to normalcy. That was Hillary then. This is Joe now. Now I wasnât the biggest fan of Bernie Sanders, but he had his finger on the pulse and we pulled our hand away. Iâm not saying that Sanders should win in 2020. Iâm saying that our country has changed and our way of thinking needs to change with it.
Warren. Harris. Klobuchar. Gillibrand. Gabbard. All of these people would make incredible leaders. Iâm not saying we should support these candidates because theyâre women, we should support the candidates who we believe would do the most good for our country. Iâm saying we should consider these people to be as likable, electable, capable, qualified, and ready for the presidency as we seem to consider Hillary Clinton with a dick.

Freddie Oversteegen, Dutch resistance fighter who killed Nazis through seduction, dies at 92
The Dutch resistance was widely believed to be a manâs effort in a manâs war. If women were involved, the thinking went, they were likely doing little more than handing out anti-German pamphlets or newspapers.
Yet Freddie Oversteegen and her sister Truus, two years her senior, were rare exceptions â a pair of teenage women who took up arms against Nazi occupiers and Dutch âtraitorsâ on the outskirts of Amsterdam. With Hannie Schaft, a onetime law student with fiery red hair, they sabotaged bridges and rail lines with dynamite, shot Nazis while riding their bikes, and donned disguises to smuggle Jewish children across the country and sometimes out of concentration camps.
In perhaps their most daring act, they seduced their targets in taverns or bars, asked if they wanted to âgo for a strollâ in the forest â and âliquidatedâ them, as Ms. Oversteegen put it, with a pull of the trigger.
âWe had to do it,â she told one interviewer. âIt was a necessary evil, killing those who betrayed the good people.â When asked how many people she had killed or helped kill, she demurred: âOne should not ask a soldier any of that.â [âŠ]
Hey, I canât believe I need to say this while the Holocaust is still in LIVING MEMORY but Jews, including white Jews, are not âalliesâ in the fight against Nazis, and if you think they are and that Jewish concerns shouldnât be centered at anti-Nazi rallies, you need to look up what a Nazi actually is.
