When Hakuba meets Conan during Sunset Mansion he actually asks Conan desperately to warn his Shinichi-nii-san about Kaito- HAHAHAHHAHA. On the other hand, they exchange phone numbers early
Kaito almost immediately starts pestering the Kudo mansion and sending a heck ton of KID notices so Shinichi can get the hint and attend a heist. Shin is like... dude... my letterbox... it's overflowing with this stupid thief's notices...
Cue Kaito being a nervous mess around Shin
Even when Shin shrinks into Conan, he's half wondering how the thief will react when he sees him, and if he'll even know. He laughs to himself how funny it would be for the thief to not recognise him
Too bad for Shin, Kaito immediately starts tearing up, wailing, and hugging his adorable tantei-kun and how he's suffered. Annoyingly in the hug, Kaito also secures his gadgets so Cone is left to suffer in his grasp.
Although he has to admit, he's glad he doesn't have to hide his true self from the thief and he really needs a hug after everything he's gone through...
