The dog slept folded up like a deck chair, the sun went down and up again. Peeled myself out of the comfortable blanket and caught my early train. I feel mocked by myself that I can get up at any time if public transport is involved but not just because I want to. Now I have a journey of a couple of hours ahead of me to not only try stay awake but also revise for my exam. Fingers crossed something will stick this early in the day!

Date with a new friend! Had the greatest time getting snacks and with a friend from my new neighborhood🥺🥺🥺 We spent the time crafting together (she was knitting, I was sketching).

It is the dead of winter and this past month I have been so incredibly lonely. Truly Allah answered my prayers this weekend. I met one of my high school besties a few days ago, and then this today. Alhamdulillah for everything💖I really feel like a plant that has been watered.

23.08.24 i am currently enjoying my exam/term paper-free life by working too much, cleaning to de-stress and finally getting back into reading (bought piranesi by susanna clarke yesterday, very excited). my first master's semester is slowly approaching and the courses all look promising. also, looking forward to autumn!

Almost time to go home and I am really looking forward to it. Vacation is nice but I also love being at home. My garden is waiting for me and my books and paints and everything.

I've been reading about hauntings, grief, trauma, healing and restorative justice. amidst my own hopelessness, reading such literature gives me some optimism. but there's so much unlearning I have to do, which is certainly not easy. so much of my sensibilities are dominated and influenced by Eurocentrism.

August 11th (13th) 2024 | Started reading The Lord of the Rings in English! I read it first in French something like... 15 years ago now ? 😅😂

my professor wrote back with his comments on my draft yesterday evening! all’s well and good, he gave me some tips on how i could improve it, of course, and that’s what i’m gonna do today. i’m putting all of my distractions away once again and focusing solely on writing.

i was thinking about making some posts about subjects that pertain to my thesis - revising the materials in a way. but i think i may do it after getting some work done first…

Currently, I am at a cafe and transcribing an audio interview that is almost three hours long. I love doing research and don't mind doing the grunt work, but I do not fancy transcribing because I recoil at listening to my own voice. I'm like, goodness, why do I sound like a ten-year-old.

Anyway, I hope you guys are doing alright over there and are doing much better than I am. 🏵️
