season 4 of Supernatural is wild because for the whole damn series Dean is the only one who has any normal response to anything ever. Comes back from hell and is noticeably shaken but does what humans do best and tries to hide his pain (gets immediately bombarded by Sam about his newfound trauma), finds out angels are real and does what any human would do and immediately goes through a crisis of faith (gets told by everyone that this is just gonna have to be the new normal), gets told he alone can stop the apocalypse and does what any human would do and freaks the fuck out (Sam turns it into a bigger thing by trying to stop it himself causing Dean great emotional distress), has to relive the worst of himself by torturing the man who tortured him (is told by Angels to deal with it), finds out a prophet can predict his immediate future and does what any human would do and tries to use it to save his brother (Sam fucks up the whole routine), makes a deal with angels to save his brother from having to become a monster (his brother leaves him), HIS BROTHER LEAVES HIM (is told to suck it up)
