have you ever felt that maybe you were a nicer person when you were overweight? asking because i have experienced this, when i was overweight i put more effort into my character instead of my looks
Not nicer but maybe I let people take advantage of me more when I was overweight because I thought that if I didnāt they wouldnāt like me and now I am more sure of myself so I donāt take the bs.
Iāve had this. Peoples perception of you changes when you lose weight. I was the same I used to let people walk all over me and was constantly taken advantage of. Now I care less what others think and Iām not afraid to say no or stand up for myself more. If people call me a dick or whatever for that, thatās cool. āLions donāt care for the opinions of sheepā ;)
Stay strong big or small. Be kind. Donāt use others and spread love not resentment.
For me, through the journey of getting fitter, IāmĀ finding self-respect and self love, and Iāve started to stand up for myself. Thatās not being mean, thatās just valuing my own feelings as much as I value othersĀ ā and thatās not selfish. We are all just as good as anyone else. Itās showing the world that Iām worthy of respect, no matter my size.
I want to emphasize that itās not the being fitter part that is the catalyst, itās the JOURNEY. Itās learning what weāre capable of. Of overcoming adversity, of not giving up, of battling and failing, and getting up and trying again ā those are the things that have helped me find my voice, regardless of my size.
I hope everybody reads all the comments because theyāre worth it
