Astarion decides to use the free time to surprise Del with her favorite druid, Halsin. Sexy times ensue.

The Lighthouse is sinking deeper into the Fade: something is wrong with the ancient magic that holds it in place, securing it from the buffeting of raw power and clamoring of demons.
To save the team, Rook, Lucanis, and Spite must embark on a dangerous journey deeper into the floating islands beyond the Lighthouse, where they’ll have to confront the reality of how their relationship has changed.
It me! This was such a fun project! If you are a fan of Dragon Age, I highly recommend checking out all these awesome entries on AO3. My partner @eponymous-rose wrote an amazing story based on content that was cut from Veilguard and it’s SO good! I loved being able to draw Lucanis for the first time and bringing their Rook to life. I am so happy with how this piece turned out.

First song I fell in love with: Dreams by The Cranberries - My memory is fuzzy and doesn’t help I’ve always loved music even as a child, but I believe this is probably one of the earliest song I was obsessed with - I remember listening to it over and over again. It was either this or a Peter, Paul, and Mary song from one of their children albums.
The first single I bought: Evanescence’s Fallen album, I think?? My parents bought CDs for me, as well, so I’m not 100% sure which was the first I bought myself and I can’t remember the first song I bought on iTunes lol
The song I do at karaoke: Basically, every song on Shania Twain’s Come On Over album.
The song I inexplicably know every lyric to: Rag Doll by Aerosmith - though maybe not so inexplicably if you knew I liked Aerosmith haha
The best song to play at a party: Cheers by Rihanna
The song I can no longer listen to: Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day - I listened to this song SO MUCH when I was in high school. It held so many memories for me, a lot of them bittersweet. It was symbolic of an end of an era for me and I think listening to it brings me back to a time where I wasn’t at my best.
The song I secretly love, but tell everyone I hate: I don’t think I have one? At least, not anymore. I’ve learned to unabashedly say I love a song even if it’s (0bjectively) bad. If it brings me joy, who cares?
The best song to have sex to: I have never had sex to music, but my knee jerk answer would be Closer by NIN or Love Dump by Static-X
The song that changed my life: Born This Way by Lady Gaga
The song that makes me cry: Space Doggity by Jonathan Coulton - It’s a song about Laika, the first dog in space - IYKYK. It always makes me ball my eyes out. I don’t listen to it often even though its a great song.
The song that gets me up in the morning: Anything upbeat, honestly. I really should listen to music as soon as I wake up to help me shed the cobwebs, but I don’t lol.
The song I’d like played at my funeral: I feel like levity is seriously needed at a funeral or wake so part of me really wants to say Get Low by Lil Jon ( my friends know I love this song ) but if I had to choose something more fitting, perhaps Winter by Tori Amos.

Lucanis Dellamorte and Spite in battle. Interesting to see the color is more of a red, even though in other scenes Spite shows up as more of a purple?
Boy, is it hard to pause the game in time to catch these poses, but it was well worth it. I will have to give this a try with a few other characters when I have a moment!
Thank you for the tag, @virshiral. I am still in the outlining stage for what I am tentatively calling "A Veil Too Far" - my sci-fi/fantasy/modern(?) AU of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. I was bad, though, and started working on writing the early chapters, so here's a snippet from that!
"I guess we better get our hands on that dagger, then." She'd begun to ask him if he thought it would be safe for them to leave the cave now, when he'd looked off to the side, as if listening to a voice she couldn't hear.
"It's probably best you wake up now," he said to her, when he'd looked back at her. "Your companions will be waiting for you."
Confused, she tilted her head to the side and asked, "What do you mean, wake up?"
The transition was sudden. She blinked and when she opened her eyes it was to an unfamiliar room, lying flat on her back on a small cot. She felt groggy, like she had just woken up. Had she really just dreamed all of that?
She rolled to a seated position with a groan. Her body felt sore and beat up from the fight. She rubbed at her head, trying to clear it as she thought back on what she'd experienced. She still remembered everything that happened, which was unusual. Most of her dreams became less clear the longer she was awake, but this one had felt so real.
"Well, look who's still with us," a voice said from behind her.
Turning, Lena saw that Varric was occupying a cot on the other side of the room. His arm was in a sling and one of his legs appeared to be in a brace.
"Varric," she gasped, swinging her legs around to rest on the ground, as she stared at him. "What happened to you?"
"Looks worse than it appears," he said, motioning with his good arm. "After you passed out, the tear in the Veil collapsed, causing some good ol' fashioned magical blowback. Threw us both for several feet. Bianca would have been destroyed if I hadn't rolled my body in time, but that meant I had to take a few breaks myself." He motioned to a table next to his bed where Bianca sat, practically gleaming. "Completely worth it."
Lena could only stare at the dwarf in disbelief. "Your obsession with that thing is beyond concerning."

They kiss, lips bruised by the espresso they have been drinking to stay awake, swaying as if drunkenly against each other with the train's rollicking motion. Somehow the awkwardness of it is impossibly dear to him.
'I'm tired,' she says. 'We've done enough, haven't we? Let's go to bed.'
He would like to make love to her, but the hour is so late and he feels strangely small and ashamed, unworthy. Instead he simply holds her until she falls asleep in his arms, and then he stares into the oscillating shadows for many hours more, feeling the wheels turning beneath him, searching for an answer that slips, like the land below, ever from his grasp.
