Trespasser Solas did not have to show sm affection to lavellan in that moment as it was easier for him to be distant (like he was during their relationship). He finally had a reason to behave like that, be cold and distant. Let her know "my mask is off. I was distant cuz xyz reason. Now you know it too. Hope everything makes sense now. Bye." But no. Also, being distant would have helped him with his ultimate plan, helped him focus on his main goal, so to speak. But instead, as soon as she gives him an olive branch, he is desperate for her to know that he always loved her, that he is a very affectionate man (quite literally pathetic for her if given chance lol), that she did infact changed everything for him.

Solas gets up - a little too quickly, because the darkness shudders about him and then rights itself dizzily with the inevitable magnetism of a gyroscope returning to centre. There is, he perceives, a door; he can tell by the very faint light coming through the bars laid across the little window set into it. So he goes over and tries it. Locked, unsurprisingly. But he had to try. Jackie and Felassan would never let him forget it if he failed to escape purely through an excess of pessismism. Jackie and Felassan. The thought catches on a painful, jagged hollow deep within him. The two of them marooned in Mythal's strange, cold, halls - waiting for him to return to them and then, eventually, understanding that he is not going to.

He stood, ruffling her already-ruffled hair as he walked past to grab another clean pillowcase, wanting to appear at least somewhat courteous without admitting he had already changed his sheets for her that morning. He changed them every time they planned to meet at his apartment, just on the off-chance she might stay.

Tagged by the lovely @theriothag this week! I've been very busy outside of writing, but here's a bit of These Hands I did last week: one for the Glynnin girlies.

Ellana ventured to the south edge of camp at dusk, the boisterous din of clan supper and orange glow of torchlight faded to blue-black nighttime and the buzzing of insects. She smelled the fat of roasting meat, heard the inviting crackle of a cookfire before she saw it, its humble flame gilding Glynnin’s scars. He had exchanged his usual leathers for soft trousers and a woolen shirt that wrapped around his chest and tied at his left flank. His blond, wiry hair hung loose. Neatly combed, it brushed his shoulders. As Ellana approached, he rose from a crouch and, smiling, greeted her by name. “Aneth ara, lethallin,” she said from the opposite side of the fire. Her palms met the fabric of her own trousers, the palms dry but fingers fidgety with nerves. No amount of rehearsal that afternoon had prepared her for what to say to him. Thankfully, it seemed he didn’t expect much, far more comfortable with silence than the hunters her age.

A big thank you to @theriothag, my angel of writing, for continuing to tag me in these. Otherwise, I'd probably keep watching CreepCast and forgetting to write. I'm going so slowly I feel like y'all are just going to get the entirety of R&R ch 3 piecemeal through WIP tags by the time it's over lol.

“You may stay here tonight, if you’re concerned.” Rook shook her head. “No...I uh, have some video games I’ve been meaning to finish anyways. I can pull an all-nighter.” Solas offered up a blank stare in response. The closer they’d become, the less common the “you cannot actually be that stupid” look had become, but he still kept it tucked into his back pocket for moments like these. She could not avoid sleeping forever. He nearly expressed this, but bit his tongue at the last second, knowing it would only make her dig her heels in. Rook tossed the bottle aside and ran her hands over her face, then through her hair, distorting it into a spiky mess somewhere between 80s video vixen and startled cat. She’d thought about video calling Neve and just asking her to stay on the line all night with her while she slept, but Neve was always busy, and Solas was offering. “Yeah, okay. Thanks.”

I’m still editing/ refining Chapter 13 of TROH, but feel a little less self-conscious about my lack of speed these days. Using your (in my case, aged) human mind to create things takes time, and sometimes struggle and that’s what makes the process so fun. I wouldn’t trade the absolute euphoria of finally getting a sentence, paragraph, or a plot point just right (or at least the way I want it) for anything.

Solas approached the arched entryway with an aching, hammering heart. Elle had kissed him there once: shoved him so hard into the alcove he’d lost his footing and his breath. She’d pinned him, with little resistance, against the stone and slid her thumbs into the belt loops of his jeans, to steer him exactly where she wanted, ravishing him so thoroughly, the recollection alone had his toes curling inside of his Converse. It was hardly the time for such indulgences, but his dick could always be counted on when his wisdom could not.

Ta’revas’ other hand is still resting over the sword’s pommel, its point buried firmly in the ground. Their fingers, seemingly unable to ever be idle, are loosely tapping the shiny steel, tendons and prominent veins shifting under taut skin, and his mouth feels ever so slightly too dry.

@theriothag tysm for the tag (x2)!! Life has been actively hunting me lately, but I still have a couple things in the works.

R&R Ch 3:

“I don’t understand. This has never happened before.” “That’s what he said.” Rook shoved another piece of pizza into her mouth, ignoring the pointed glare sent her way. Rook’s latest routine involved staying after band practice to work on her magic with Solas. The first night, they’d gone over some fundamentals, which Rook seemed to grasp quickly. Practical application, however, did not come as easily. Her task was to light a candle, a previously unassuming object that had quickly become her worst enemy. It seemed the more she tried to force it, the more her magic resisted. After an hour of being unable to produce even a spark, an unexpected burst of mana obliterated the tea light and nearly set them both on fire. A mutual decision was made to stop for the night and order dinner.

Another @theriothag's Elle that I don't plan on finishing til I've figured out a better rendering process, but I wanted to get the concept down.

I don't have very much to show just yet, I've been working on chapter 38 and and illustrations for the Storm Coast arc. But I also got side tracked with drawing D&D characters for my friends! I also got my first paid commission (for an illustration) today too! Wooo! I'll share a sneak peak of a WIP of Iron Bull having a nice conversation with my Lavellan under the starry sky.
