I was in school when first I heard this song. Good memories... Those were simpler times.
The song that makes me cry...
Gale's theme. I can't listen to it without crying. It's coming home after a long battle and knowing that it's all going to be okay.
The song that changed my life
The song that started it all. I have always loved this song, but I came up with my Greater God!Gale fic series while listening to this. It will forever be the song of my Galemance.
The song to play at my funeral
Don't cry for me. Instead celebrate life and be happy. Death is a kind friend, and we will meet again someday.
The song I know every lyric to
As a socially anxious person, this song means a lot to me...

thank you @vishantikaffar for tagging me! I was excited to cook on this one hehe. I'm incredibly indecisive and I listen to a little of everything, so this was genuinely difficult to decide!!! I'm also a certified yapper so this is going to be SUCH a long post. I am not sorry. :)
First song I fell in love with
first song I saved on spotify cause I can never pick faves and my memory is awful doodoo dog shit so I genuinely don't remember
The first single I bought
I never really bought singles, but the first album I remember purchasing with my own money was Infinity On High by Fall Out Boy and the first music video I remember seeing was Dance Dance by Fall Out Boy ... so I feel like it's safe to assume it was probably a Fall Out Boy song.
The song I do at karaoke
Retired choir/theatre kid with a strong alto voice? yeah...
there's a ton tbh (I have a whole playlist of songs I could do for karaoke if I ever needed help thinking of some) so it is different every time tbh
The song I inexplicably know every lyric to
okay so related to the retired choir/theatre kid thing, I remember every lyric to .... most songs I like or listened to often enough. so I'll pick the ones that stick out in my memory.
Love My Lips from VeggieTales ... listen I was raised in a DEEPLY religious household, and ten days after I turned eight, got my lips stuck in a gate, my friends all laughed... and I just--
Look At Me Now (feat. Lil' Wayne & Busta Rhymes) by Chris Brown (ew) I was the kid that got told all the time that I talked a million miles a minute, so when this song came out and people were like "finally someone that talks faster than you!" about busta rhymes I made it my personal mission to learn the entire thing (sans certain words because I am wHHHHIte)
for a more recent pull: LABOUR - the cacophony by Paris Paloma because I LOOOOOVE feminine rage and the cacophony version especially scratches the brain so good
The best song to play at a party
Personally I'm a big fan of 2000s booty shakers for a party, but pretty much anything upbeat with a good rhythm is my go-to, so here's the ones in my head lately:
Take Your Shirt Off by T-Pain
Roc Steady (feat. Flo Milli) by Megan Thee Stallion
sweat by Haiden Henderson (this guy makes almost entirely sexually suggestive music and then gets shy when he sings it live and it makes me giggle i love him)
The song I can no longer listen to
there's not really any song I just Cannot listen to anymore but there are some that I would most likely skip if they came on shuffle because they make me CRY. here's an example if you feel like crying:
listened to this again while making this just to be sure, did indeed cry
The song I secretly love but I tell everyone I hate
none, i'm polyjamorous and i will listen to lowkey anything and all my friends know it. now the song my FRIENDS hate that I love? I got a number of those. they're mostly silly or annoying. I love a silly goofy song, I cannot lie. Here's some of my fave silly goofies:
McDonald's in the Pentagon by Silly Stu
Skibidi by Little Big (these eurovision freaks i love them)
Jesus Is The One (I Got Depression) by Zack Fox and Kenny Beats
The best song to have sex to
see I feel like this depends on the vibe you're going for but you could go a lot of ways
Suck My Kiss by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Loud by The Home Team
lips by Haiden Henderson (the BLUSH on his face when he first sang this live? obsessed)
The song that changed my life
I honestly don't know, I feel like music has just kinda always been influential in my life but I can't think of a particular song that CHANGED my life necessarily. there are songs that are like sentimental or influential to me though, so I'll put those:
Hello by SHINee (this was the FIRST ever kpop song I heard and did introduce me to a whole new world of music!)
Angel of Music from The Phantom of the Opera (the first musical/operetta I ever remember knowing, and now I'm a musicals girlie)
Take Me To Church by Hozier (first ever hozier song I knew (probably for a lot of people cause I think this was the first of his that really went BIG) and now I am a hozier main I love that guy)
The song that makes me cry
so I forgot this was here and I put a song-that-makes-me-cry above ,... so fuck it, have another one:
(i'm a really easy crier if I can be so honest, and it's okay)
The song that gets me up in the morning
I am generally an enjoyer of upbeat feel goods or hype up music in the morning, so here's some that I like:
Lil Boo Thang by Paul Russell
Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader
Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen (bless you freddie mercury, my bisexual icon)
9 to 5 by Dolly Parton
The song I’d like played at my funeral
Highway to Hell by AC/DC (kidding....... unless?)
This one is hard tbh cause I'm a firm believer that funerals are more for the living than they are for the dead, but nonetheless I think I would want something classic and comforting.
Lean on Me is always a classic, but also Stand By Me by Ben E. King, What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong, or maybe Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

That's a tough question, but it must have been something Queen. So here, one of my faves.
This got long, so the rest is under the cut.
The first single I bought
I don't think I ever bought a single, but the first album was By The Way by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I was obsessed with them as a teen for some reason.
The song I do at karaoke
Never done karaoke, never will, cause I won't inflict my horrible singing upon others like that. I only sing when the music is loud enough to drown out my voice, and this is the one that reliably has me singing along lately (Fern, this is on you).
The song I inexplicably know every lyric to
Okay so there's unfortunately nothing inexplicable about me knowing song lyrics, cause my brain does this thing when it demands listening to good songs on repeat for literal hours at a time, so the lyrics just sorta get stuck. And the worst (best) offender is this one. I spent about a week listening to nothing else.
The best song to play at a party
Uhhh. Great question! Very little idea. Never actually been to a party, but this one is a fun vibe to me, so whatevs. Here you go.
The song I can no longer listen to
I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis. It's not a bad song, but it makes my brain nope out for some reason.
The song I secretly love but tell everyone I hate
This is more of a "I thought I was so over this one but apparently am not" situation. I was so obsessed with this one as a kid and I apparently still enjoy it after all these years.
The best song to have sex to
I don't really have a sex playlist, I'm sorry to say. But this one could work? I mean, it's hard to go wrong with Hozier.
The song that changed my life
That's another tough question. I had to scour my faves playlist for a reasonable answer, and while I'm pretty sure there have been others, this is definitely one of them. The music video was one of the first instances where I saw a gay couple in media without them being ridiculed, and it resonated for reasons I would only discover years later.
The song that makes me cry
I'm not really the type to cry over songs, but this one has me feeling things.
The song that gets me up in the morning
This one has me pulling through bad days lately. A great song for fighting one's way through anything life has in store.
The song I'd like played at my funeral
No idea why, but this came to mind.
Well, this was fun. I was tagged by the creator of this tag game, @vanillastrange! Thank you so much! I will say this one took a while for me to fill out, because I honestly had to sit and think about it lol. I listen to a lot of music - old and new, so trying to think of the answer to some of these was a fight with my shoddy memory. However, it was really fun! So, thanks again, for tagging me!
Here's the The List:
First song I fell in love with
The first single I bought
The song I do at karaoke
The song I inexplicably know every lyric to
The best song to play at a party
The song I can no longer listen to
The song I secretly love but tell everyone I hate
The best song to have sex to
The song that changed my life
The song that makes me cry
The song that gets me up in the morning
The song I'd like played at my funeral
And here are my answers:
First song I fell in love with: Dreams by The Cranberries - My memory is fuzzy and doesn’t help I’ve always loved music even as a child, but I believe this is probably one of the earliest song I was obsessed with - I remember listening to it over and over again. It was either this or a Peter, Paul, and Mary song from one of their children albums.
The first single I bought: Evanescence’s Fallen album, I think?? My parents bought CDs for me, as well, so I’m not 100% sure which was the first I bought myself and I can’t remember the first song I bought on iTunes lol
The song I do at karaoke: Basically, every song on Shania Twain’s Come On Over album.
The song I inexplicably know every lyric to: Rag Doll by Aerosmith - though maybe not so inexplicably if you knew I liked Aerosmith haha
The best song to play at a party: Cheers by Rihanna
The song I can no longer listen to: Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day - I listened to this song SO MUCH when I was in high school. It held so many memories for me, a lot of them bittersweet. It was symbolic of an end of an era for me and I think listening to it brings me back to a time where I wasn’t at my best.
The song I secretly love, but tell everyone I hate: I don’t think I have one? At least, not anymore. I’ve learned to unabashedly say I love a song even if it’s (0bjectively) bad. If it brings me joy, who cares?
The best song to have sex to: I have never had sex to music, but my knee jerk answer would be Closer by NIN or Love Dump by Static-X
The song that changed my life: Born This Way by Lady Gaga
The song that makes me cry: Space Doggity by Jonathan Coulton - It’s a song about Laika, the first dog in space - IYKYK. It always makes me ball my eyes out. I don’t listen to it often even though its a great song.
The song that gets me up in the morning: Anything upbeat, honestly. I really should listen to music as soon as I wake up to help me shed the cobwebs, but I don’t lol.
The song I’d like played at my funeral: I feel like levity is seriously needed at a funeral or wake so part of me really wants to say Get Low by Lil Jon ( my friends know I love this song ) but if I had to choose something more fitting, perhaps Winter by Tori Amos.
If you would also like to participate, please feel free to do so, but to pass it along (with ZERO pressure) I will tag @wetcatspellcaster, @chubritza, @postboxrose and @luzial
Tysm for tagging me @virshiral ! I've seen this around and it looked fun!

My Answers:
Objectively speaking, probably Sharp Dressed Man-ZZ Top. Apparently before I could even walk, I'd pull myself up using the shelves of the entertainment cabinet to turn the stereo up whenever my parents played it.
First single I ever bought was probably Complicated by Avril Lavigne.
Fun Fact: I don't do karaoke! Both of the characters I'm writing being singers is more of a power fantasy for me than anything. In reality, whenever I try to sing in front of other people, I get so nervous my throat tightens until I sound like Minnie Mouse. If I could get my shit together, maybe something from The Birthday Massacre since my tone/range is somewhat similar to Chibi's. Realistically, I'd probably go for Rebel Girl-Bikini Kill because I could have fun with it without worrying too much about how I sound.
Anything that was popular when I was in middle school. I will be on my death bed and still remember the lyrics to Lip Gloss-Lil Mama.
Depends on the party! Dragula-Rob Zombie tends to go over well with my friend group lol.
Sing-My Chemical Romance. I love that band. I love them so much. They were my first band-related hyperfixation. But fucking hell did that song get overplayed.
I don't have these anymore, but once upon a time it would have been Toxic-Britney Spears.
Also highly dependent. Preferably with a good beat. xx by The xx and AM by The Arctic Monkeys used to be go-tos for me, but the point is to choose one song so based on that...let's go out of left field with Lucretia My Reflection-Sisters of Mercy
The Young Crazed Peeling-The Distillers. Brody Dalle was such a huge influence on me as a kid. Started standing up for myself around the same time I started listening to her work.
Ugh, Hello-Evanescence. It's like my early childhood trauma rolled into about 4 minutes.
I'm not sure I have one of these any more either, but A.M. 180-Grandaddy used to be my alarm.
Oh, fuck if I know. Something that won't make the funeral workers want to climb in after me because they're hearing it for the 15th time that week? Actually hold up—if I know them, I'm choosing My Way-Frank Sinatra to fuck with them. If not, an instrumental of Scarborough Fair.
You can listen [here] if you want.
Tagging @theriothag @luzial if you'd like, and anyone else who may wish to!
I found this article interviewing Moby about different songs he likes and ripped the questions off to make a Mutuals' Mixtape! It'd be great, as a little added treat, to pick at least one song from someone else's list, see if it strikes your fancy!
I LOVE music, and I think it's a great way to get to know/bond with someone, but there's no pressure for anyone tagged @theriothag @elfyroot @aliceis-dead @dayntee @modestharellan @fadetouchedlurker @iamsuperconfused @starrshinegirl @virshiral @crittadownunder @bitethebulette @tulipathy

And here are my answers:
The Only Time by Nine Inch Nails, pretty sure it was my sexual awakening lmao
A lot of my music was burned on CDs by friends, but a core memory of mine is about one I didn't pay for that's a cheeky story I like to tell, Steal This Album! by System of a Down
I've never done karaoke, but with the right drinks and encouragement, I would absolutely sing Dear Brother by Puscifer
Most songs by Madonna (thanks to my mother lol)
My Own Worst Enemy by Lit
Headstrong by Trapt (pls don't make me leave the room lol)
I remember a time where I feared my gothic reputation would be ruined if anyone knew I listened to pop music, and definitely secretly enjoyed Toxic by Britney Spears
Black Milk by Massive Attack, but honestly the whole Mezzanine album is sexy asf
I get frisson like crazy (for music, movies, books, etc) all the time, but in my teen years, I got a lot of validation for my anger with Killing In The Name by Rage Against The Machine
All The Things Lost by MSMR was the last one to make me legit cry
