$288k per bitcoin in 2020 - 2024? 🧐 Stock 2 Flow Cross Asset model explained by @bitintro - Quant investor planB recently published a new article enhancing his famous Stock2Flow model. (Go check it out on medium.com!) - PlanB removed the time series from the original model and analyzed different assets with regards to their market capitalization and stock2flow value. - PlanB introduced the concept of phase transitions (basically the same asset but very different properties) for Bitcoin. This allows to cluster Bitcoin into 4 different phases (different narratives and s2f value) and to compare the btc cluster with silver and gold against each other. - The result is fascinating. The 6 assets share a linear relationship - the higher the stock2flow value - the higher the respective market cap of the assets. - PlanB derived a formula to calculate the expected market capitalization of an asset with regards to its s2f value. - Now after the third halving Bitcoin has a s2f value of about 56, which translates into a market cap of roughly $5.5 T. Bitcoin block reward halving explained! 📌 - Most of you will probably have heard of the bitcoin #halving by now. It is an event that occurs every 210,000 blocks or roughly every 4 years. - Every halving decreases the block reward by 50%. This ensures that the issuance rate of Bitcoin is constantly going down until in 2140 21M coins are finally mined. Bitcoin will now have a similar inflation rate to gold and less than the target of 2% of fiat currencies. - Moreover, miners get paid significantly less for using their hardware and energy to produce new blocks.
