As someone who’s spent the last 2 months reading historical sources on fat liberation: So much of especially the early work (70s) was done by fat lesbian feminists who were tired of still being singled out and treated as lesser even in the spaces that thought themselves to be progressive. And even still up to the point where I currently am with my research (90s) most of the people including fat liberation in their activism were some flavour of queer.
