The Orange Man won’t stop trying to seduce me.

Hello good birbs! Since Twitter is getting wacky I'm gonna try out Tumblr again! :)
Happy holidays everyone ❤️
It’s especially hard during the holidays as Smidgen has been such a big part but I wanted to do something to remember him and Bibi who were love at first sight partners from day 1

Wild parrots tend to fly in flocks, but when kept as single pets, they may become lonely and bored
Once the birds had learned how to initiate video interactions, the second phase of the experiment could begin. In this “open call” period, the 15 participating birds could make calls freely; they also got to choose which bird to dial up. Over the next two months, pet parrots made 147 deliberate video calls to other birds. Their owners took detailed notes about the calls and recorded more than 1,000 hours of video footage that the researchers analyzed.
If you guys have a few minutes (~5) to watch the video with the study goals and results + clips of the birds, it’s so so so wholesome.
Smidgen leaves no bell unturned

Smidgen just wants to be hanging out and looks forward to the time when we’d pick him up.
Farewell for now my Smidgen
Smidgen was laid to rest on February 2, 2023. As big of a loss this is, I am so thankful for having this angel in my life. A lovely sweet presence that wanted whatever time we had but was never imposing. Protective of his kind, loyal, joyful and always regal. He has helped me through many of life’s changes and is very close to my heart. I know he is always with me but the distance I feel is unbearable at times. I have to trust him in God’s hands now and focus on how happy and beautiful he was. Being the loving creature that he is, he kissed me twice making the kissing sound twice in his last moments. I will hold on to that knowing how much he loved us and how he seemed to be saying it was ok to let him go.

Will keep this blog alive with his pictures that I didn’t get round to posting
