i haven't written/posted fanfic in (maybe??) a decade, but expedition 33 made me bold! more accurately, made me have so many Thoughts that i needed to put them on paper. thus, stripping out paint was born!
each chapter is a standalone vignette/study on a character, relationship or moment from expedition 33. so far, i can offer you:
Utility: Lune looks back on her life's purpose (lune-centric, a life to live ending, vaguely verso/lune but she's angry at him, understandably)
Replacement: Verso and the men he finds himself replacing (painted!verso-centric, verso/sciel but they decide being friends is way better, sciel attempts to battle Depression with banter and the Power of Loving Your Friends)
Absolution: Two sisters after a fire (clea and alicia after a life to live ending, recovery and healing, fighting someone because you love them so much, the promise of sweet, sweet revenge)
Mirror: The many portraits of Clea Dessendre (clea-centric, oldest-daughter syndrome, rage, nostalgia, featuring: painted!clea, the hauler, fading woman and the lady of sap!!)
Legacy: Gustave makes lists (gustave-centric, pre-canon, non-linear narrative so just have fun and be yourself, exploration of the gustave/sophie breakup, i'm in my gustave scholar era, ok)
And coming soon...
Lune-centric Scielune, with a dash of "my personal headcannon that Lune and Gustave had a very short fling that didn't go well at all so they decided to be friends and have great work chemistry now" and a Maelle-centric exploration of the "a life to paint" ending!
anyway that's it goodbye and remember to stay fresh, cheesebags
