i've been writing a novel about lancelot for five years. burnt out on it like two years ago. kcd reignited my passion for it bc of. u kno. and i have finally gotten back into writing it again!!!! so i will always be happy to yap about that :)

ever since finishing the game I've been pondering my headcanon/au for how erik's post canon situation would look like if he lived on and I finally sat down to sketch out some concepts for it... still got thoughts forming on it but in short he does not get better! also just an excuse to draw him in all black + his red. my favourite edgelord <3

ohh man this is gonna be a DEEP fucking cut but. i think it was probably the magic treehouse books. bc i genuinely cannot remember a time when i wasn't into arthuriana (the same as i can't remember a time when i wasn't into legend of zelda), so like. i must've gotten into it before i gained Consciousness. and the only exposure i could've had to it at that age must have been the magic treehouse books. which, to be clear, are only extremely tangentially arthuriana in that the owner of the magic treehouse is morgan le fey herself. there were some books with merlin in them too i think? and those send them to fantasy places (including camelot!) instead of historical ones? idk i most distinctly remember reading the story where the kids got sent to pompeii to save a scroll?? i think?? from the eruption of mount vesuvius.

as far as character i dislike the most. it's tristan. he's like if lancelot was boring. like idk what to even say about him he just sucks, he's not interesting to me at all, and no version of his and isolde's story has ever really done anything to compel me. maybe there's some version of tristan and isolde out there that'll change my mind, but for the time being, meh. he bores me!!!! he's boring!!!!! give me unhinged knights doing insane behaviors!!!!!!! i like my knights Deeply Unwell!!!!!!!!!

i have SO many arthuriana headcanons and i think i've shared most of my major ones...........ok i can't say that this is a top or fave headcanon bc truly i cannot decide which headcanons are my favorite lasdkasj i love all of them BUT ANYWAY it's A little headcanon i hope this suffices!!!

when morgan isn't around, the round table often turns to lancelot as their source of knowledge on the occult. which is very funny bc he doesn't know Shit about Fuck when it comes to magic, but he's the closest thing they've got. so they'll ask him shit like "hey lance is this ring cursed??? hey has someone put a charm on me?? hey this village thinks that one of their sheep is the devil, can you help????" and he just throws his hands up like "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW????????"

but he's right like 90% of the time so they're never gonna stop asking him :P

Ari, I just learned about the common tailorbird and I need your opinion on it.

they sew together their nests.............they're so skilled and talented..........

more seriously though, i am absolutely fascinated by this nesting behavior. like, what caused it to develop? all nests are marvels of structural engineering, but this is such a specific type of construction habit. it doesn't seem like they lack materials for more traditional nests, so this isn't a behavior driven by scarcity. is it then for camouflage? if so, why don't we see this behavior in far more birds in the area? it also isn't a behavior like the bowerbirds, who build their structures for the purpose of attracting mates -- generally you build nests after you've found a mate! i am genuinely fascinated by this!! and i'm not an evolutionary biologist so these are truly just shots in the dark on my part.

VERDICT: i love them. little tailors.....so skilled..........fucking superb you funky little songbird
