@bittersweetbloom
at least we look at the same night sky
always an option, never the one. always the poet, not the poem. always a choice, but never chosen.
Silly me thinking you lay awake at 2am and think about me, like I think about you.
Can’t tell if I need a hug or just get hit by a car
I hate that I’m still hoping…
It sucks that you have to keep yourself busy to feel okay
Mirror, again
The glass doesn’t lie,
but it doesn’t love either.
I stand here,
counting every flaw
like bruises I gave myself.
My reflection flinches first—
as if even it
can’t bear to look at me.
Yet still I stay,
hoping one day
the person in the mirror
won’t feel like a wound.
Somebody to Someone
I wish I could be
somebody to someone
not the backup plan,
not the name they remember
only when the night feels too quiet.
I wish I could be the message they type
before they overthink it,
the person they choose
without hesitation.
But I keep learning
that wanting to matter
doesn’t make me matter,
and loving hard
doesn’t make anyone stay.
I just wanna feel like somebody
like a heartbeat someone listens for,
like a story someone wants to keep reading,
like a place someone returns to
because it feels like home.
Instead, I fall for people
who don’t fall back.
I just wanna fall in love
the kind that doesn’t vanish,
the kind that doesn’t make me
question my worth,
the kind that finally feels
like I’m not begging
to be seen.
Maybe one day
I’ll be somebody to someone.

But tonight,
it just hurts
that I’m not.
you taught me
that heartbreak isn’t reserved
for lovers.
She turns pages
like doors she hopes will open for her someday.
Every story holds a promise—
a hand reaching,
a heart choosing,
a love that arrives without being asked to.
But she is the girl
who closes the book
and feels the quiet settle around her,
wondering when her own name
will finally be written
in someone else’s forever.
Still, she reads.
Not to escape
but to believe
that somewhere,
someone is learning how to love
a girl exactly like her.
They laugh,
ask why I’m still single,
as if it’s a punchline
I should be used to by now.
But later,
when the house goes quiet
and the world stops performing,
I lie awake
with a question that doesn’t joke back.
I wonder if there’s someone
whose hands were made
to hold a heart like mine,
or if I’m meant to love in silence—
always almost,
never chosen.
And the truth is,
their laughter fades fast.
It’s the loneliness that echoes.
Behind the girl who says ‘everything happens for a reason’ lives a heart still searching for the reason her path was carved through so much hurt and pain.
It’s not my body that scares me, it’s the belief it makes me unlovable.
what’s not meant for you will disappoint you a thousand times.
