Do you plan on updating "I Hate Liars"? Are you alright? It's been five months since you posted skhfkdjsk
First of all, thank you so much for caring, that really means a lot to me. ♥️
Second of all, honestly, I don’t know.
I worked really hard on the last chapter and I even thought it was the best one yet but the reaction I got from it kind of put me off finishing the series.
I know I took an extreeeeeeemely long break and maybe that’s why no one seemed to like it or even care, but idk, it just kind of made all the newly found motivation I had just... disappear.
So in all honesty, I truly don’t know. I had plans for what I wanted at least the next 3-5 chapters to look like, so maybe if that motivation finds me again I’ll get back to it, but I can’t promise you anything.
Again though, thank you so much for caring enough about the series to ask. ☺️ If it wasn’t for my stupid brain going full turtle mode as soon as something doesn’t go my way irl, maybe it’d be a better writer, idk.
Author’s note: Here it is. It’s been over a year and idk if anyone who read the first three chapters when i first uploaded them is going to be reading this now but hopefully you do. And for all the newer readers, I hope you’ll like it too~~ (edit: had to re-upload because of a bug)
Also, give a warm welcome to our newest character Jungkook! (literally needed a character super tall with broad shoulders and Google immediately recommended Jungkook damn boi). Jk will be a recurring character and the other BTS boys will probably appear from time to time. I’m also looking to add a badass female character in the next chapter so look forward to that ♡

chapter one • chapter two • chapter three
Marble floors and high ceilings. Gorgeous dresses and expensive tuxedos. Dom Perignon flowing in every glasses. You had never seen such an unnecessary show of wealth before but you suddenly understood why Hyunggyu had prepared such a getup for you. He needed you to be the center of attention but in a room like this, it wasn't an easy thing to do. This wasn't just a high school reunion you go to after going through a glow up to impress all the bullies you internally despise. No. This was on a whole other level. These were people who didn't know you, didn't need to know you but that you needed to make want to know you. These were people you needed to charm in order for your head to stay on your shoulders. Quite literally.
You exhaled a sigh of relief when a waiter passed by you, holding out his tray full with champagne glasses. Your left hand reached for a glass as the pressure on your right slightly intensified. "Be careful with that. Wouldn't want you to get drunk and throw a fit." A slight smirk laced with hatred crossed your lips, a small ball of rage building inside your chest. You brought the glass to your lips and took a sip, reveling in the exhilarating feeling of the fine bubbles on your tongue. "Don't worry, I know what you brought me here for. This is only a little bit of liquid courage." You took another sip before Hyunggyu stole the glass from your hand. His eyes bore into you as he finished the glass before disposing of it on the nearest decorative table. Hyunggyu brought his hand to your shoulder, moving your hair back and exposing your collarbone. He brought his lips to your skin, peppering kisses all over your collarbone as you awkwardly stood there, making eye contact with the passing guests. Your left hand made its way to his chin, gently getting him off of you. People kept passing you by, quite clearly eavesdropping and you forced yourself to smile as if completely lovestruck with your fiancé. "Not here in front of everyone, darling." You felt like you were going to puke at the sweetness that escaped your lips. Hyunggyu seemed extremely pleased with your sudden show of affection though, and even slightly confused at whether this was really all for show or not. Could you really be faking all of this so expertly? "Finally warming up to me, kitten." You clenched your jaw slightly as you brought your lips near his ear so you could whisper out of earshot. "If you believe this is anything but an act, you're fooling yourself." You left a slight peck on his cheek as you moved back, analyzing his reaction. You felt sick to your stomach after doing that, fearing in what your momentary bravery would ensue. But to your surprise, Hyunggyu chuckled, a bright smile crossing over his lips. It almost seemed genuine. "Kitten's got claws. I like it." Before you could disintegrate into a puddle of nervousness right in front of his eyes, Daniel appeared in front of the both of you. He whispered something in Hyunggyu's ear and gestured to a nearby staircase where two bodyguards dressed in nothing but black were waiting for them. Hyunggyu turned back towards you, bringing your hand to his lips as he left a warm kiss on its back. "Be a good kitty and go socialize, will you?" he said as he stared straight into your eyes. You managed a tense smile before Daniel whisked him away. You let out a breath you hadn't realized you'd been holding and scooped another glass from a passing waiter. This was going to be a very long night.
The fabric of your dress flowed beautifully around your curves as you made your way into the ballroom. You took in every little detail of the beautiful hall, analyzing and memorizing. A small stage had been built at one end of the room, opposite a balcony connected to two massive marble staircases leading to the garden. The mayor would probably be making a speech at some point during the evening and you already dreaded having to look interested. The rest of the room was arranged around a massive wooden dance floor, standing tables scattered all around it. The sight was quite mesmerizing and you had a hard time visualizing anyone actually living here. As you stood there, in the entrance to the ballroom, you quickly realized you had captivated a few people's attention. You smiled coyly as if shy at the sudden spotlight put on you and pushed a strand of hair behind your right ear before making your way to a table. You pressed your hands into it, trying so desperately to steady yourself. You started feeling dizzy as soon as you entered the ballroom, realizing all too soon you were finally alone. No Hyunggyu. No Daniel. No one. You could run, try to escape. There were so many people here, it'd certainly take Hyunggyu enough time to realize you were gone for you to get far enough from here. As you analyzed the room once more, your attention drifted towards the balcony and you recognized a familiar face standing beside the open doors. You couldn't quite figure out who he was exactly, but you knew one thing for sure: this was one of Hyunggyu's men. Like he would dare leave you alone on your first full day with him. How innocent had you been to even picture that happening? The man was staring straight back at you, smirking as if he had caught you red-handed. You acted like you hadn't recognized him, your gaze only skimming over him like he wasn't interesting enough to hold your attention. You tried to suppress the growing ball of nerves taking over your stomach, making your palms increasingly sweaty. You looked back down at your ring, feeling the cold, hard diamond beneath your fingers. This felt more like shackles than an engagement ring to you and you suddenly realized something. Your story wasn't only one of revenge anymore. It was one of survival. By bringing you here, Hyunggyu was putting you through a test that you would fail and pay for with your life, or succeed and get rewarded for with some sort of power in this relationship. And by taking you out of the gilded cage he had so masterfully built for you, he had also given you the chance to make connections, create your own circle of people with power. And you weren't about to squander that opportunity because of fear or rage. You needed to keep your cool if only for a chance at a future escape.
A young man dragged you out of your thoughts. You looked up at him and instantly turned on the charm, smiling happily that you didn't have to be the one to make the first step towards anyone here. He looked about a couple of years younger than Hyunggyu but also a lot stronger, his shoulders so broad you could evaporate from anyone's view simply by hiding behind him. He was probably about the same height as him but he still towered over you even though you were wearing high heels. The grin plastered on his face was reminiscent of the one that seemed constantly hung on Hyunggyu's lips but you could see a tinge of playful flirtatiousness hidden behind it. "Who would dare leave such a pretty lady alone at a boring party like this?" he asked, putting his hand in front of you and bending over as if waiting to kiss the back of your hand. You couldn't help but chuckle at the overly played-out romantic gesture that had you shivering in fear a couple of moments ago and gave him your left hand. "My lovely husband-to-be, I'm afraid." You knew eyes were on you and your every move would be reported back to Hyunggyu. Flirting with a handsome young man like this? Not a good look for a woman supposed to be engaged to a man she adores. But harmless banter to secure relationships while clearly showing you were taken, that had to be accepted. You saw his eyebrow twitch as he took in your comment and examined the ring on your finger, trying to figure out who could possibly afford such a thing. He still placed a chaste kiss on the back of your hand, standing back up as he tried and failed to keep his composure. "You're trying to figure out if you haven't just royally pissed off someone very important, aren't you?" a light chuckle escaped his lips at your remark, visibly relaxing as the mood lightened. "That obvious, uh?" A hand crept up his neck, clearly embarrassed as a carefree smile illuminated his fine traits. "It's sort of a habit of mine. Pissing people off over beautiful women like yourself, that is." You couldn't help but smile, feeling the weight of the last day slowly lifting off of you as he made you laugh. "Well, that surely makes me feel very special." You both laughed at that, all the awkward tension of a first meeting evaporating into thin air. Being so carefree with someone you had barely met made you realize you had never felt that with Daniel over the past day. As protected and safe as he had made you feel, as warm and comforting as he was, he hadn't helped you feel so... you. He'd been your solace in this dark world you'd been thrown into, but you couldn't disassociate him with how you met him. Why you met him. You couldn't help but think of him as part of this perpetual hell you were now stuck into. But him, this man right in front of you, had managed to make you feel so liberated in such a short time and you couldn't help but smile sheepishly at that thought.
A tall older woman, strikingly beautiful, made her way towards your table, her hand landing gracefully on the man's shoulder. You instantly figured she probably was his mother. "Jungkook, would you be a dear and introduce me to this young lady?" You could hear a slight snobbishness in her tone and yet the movement of her eyes, skillfully eyeing you up and down showed nothing more than a mother evaluating the worth of a potential future wife for her son. You held a smile back and before Jungkook could try and introduce you without even knowing your name, you stuck your hand over the table. You put a slight tension in your shoulders, looking purely regal. "(y/n), Kim Hyunggyu's fiancée. It's an absolute pleasure to meet you. Your son makes for wonderful company." You could tell by her reaction that she had no idea who Hyunggyu was. You complimenting her son, on the other hand, made her absolutely overjoyed - even though she tried her damnedest to keep a smile from breaking her composure. She took your hand in hers and cheerfully introduced herself as the wife of a very powerful politician Daniel had told you about. She had two boys, Jungkook and his older brother and you could tell she was in absolute adoration of both of them. You turned your attention back to Jungkook and you could see in his expression that he, on the other hand, knew very well who Hyunggyu was. Jaw clenched and brows furrowed, his eyes kept darting back to your ring, every look only seeming to make him angrier. You didn't know why knowing who your fiancé was making him so angry but you could easily imagine what Hyunggyu might have done to elicit this reaction. You suddenly felt a slight pressure on your lower back and your entire body tensed before you forced yourself to look composed and relaxed. Hyunggyu had placed himself right in between you and Jungkook. As you turned your head to your right, you gaze was met with Hyunggyu's who looked utterly pissed off. You placed your hand flat on his chest, exposing your diamond ring for the entire room to see as the lights above played a mesmerizing spectacle on the slick surface. "Well, hello there." Your lips brushed against his skin and you left a small peck on his cheek before leaning back into his grasp. He seemed both completely shocked and utterly pleased at your little display of affection. You didn't know which reaction you hated the most. You felt like a prisoner in his arms. Trapped and left to your own despair. You hated yourself for playing along, but as soon as you decided to engage with Jungkook and his mother, this sick little game you were playing with Hyunggyu wasn't for your own good anymore: it was for theirs. Because you knew damn well what a pissed off Hyunggyu could do and you weren't about to have blood spilled because of you. Not any more. Hyunggyu looked over at who had kept you company. His eyes skimmed over Jungkook's mom and instantly landed on him, narrowing as you felt the pressure on your back getting more intense. You slightly moved your hand against his chest, trying to grab his attention. "These wonderful people were keeping me company while you were busy, darling. I'm sure you've heard of Ms. Jeon and her son." The words that left your mouth felt foreign. This body didn't feel like yours anymore. And yet, your mind was so focused on putting on a good front for Hyunggyu, for yourself, but also for every single person you would ever come in contact with from now on. These words, laced with a sweetness that felt like poison on your lips, were the only things that would keep Hyunggyu from murdering innocent people. Because he wouldn't ask questions. He wouldn't act rationally. He would see a young, handsome guy talking to the woman he's forcing into marrying him and he would order the first minion he'd find to silently take care of him. "Did you take care of everything? I missed you." This version of you, this act you managed to put on both disgusted you and made you proud of yourself. Because you knew it was your only way of having a chance to make it out alive. It was your only way of hoping for a normal life, if you could ever get back to that. It was also the fastest way to losing your sanity. You finally saw Hyunggyu's jaw unclench as the pressure on your back lessened and Hyunggyu shook both Jungkook's and Jungkook's mother's hand. "Of course I have. It's a pleasure to meet you both." His attention turned back to you and a smirk tugged at his lips. "Everything went great. How about we start enjoying ourselves now, what do you say princess?" Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.

chapter one • chapter two
The next morning, you woke up to an empty room. You turned around, looking over at Hyunggyu's side of the bed. The covers were bunched up next to you and you could clearly see the imprint of his body in the mattress. He slept right next to you. But he didn't try anything. At least not after what he had pulled last night. And for some reason, it made you relax a little. In your mind, it was clear he was some sort of sociopath but maybe he wasn't as much of an excuse for a human being as you thought. You sat up in bed, still staring at his imprint on the mattress. In your mind, you imagined him, facing away from you, respecting the little bit of boundary you deserved. And as your mind wavered, going to a place where you didn't absolutely hate him, going to a state of mind where he wasn't the devil incarnate, you had to slap yourself back to reason. This was the same man who shot your father, left him for dead and then tried to rape you, all in the span of a single day. He might have some good moments, he might not be satan 24/7 but he sure as hell wasn't worthy of your wavering heart. He was garbage. An absolute excuse for a human being. And although he'll probably try to change the way you think of him, you'll need to remember your mother's words. "Choose the right allies. Fool the right people." Although they weren't hers, to begin with, you chose to believe those words of wisdom came from your mom. And if in your situation, that's what it took to stay sane, you'll gladly fool yourself into believing your mother actually talked to you while you were asleep.
Your eyes wandered down the bed, following every line in the satin sheets to the bench at the foot of the bed. It was a small padded bench that went along with the simplistic theme of the room. Your eyes landed on the long rectangular black box, patiently waiting for you. You made your way over to it and took the extremity of the velvet ribbon into your hands. The velvet was soft and felt expensive under your fingertips. You played with the ribbon until it loosened and you put it aside. Tentatively, you opened the box to reveal a massive amount of white silk paper. You pushed it aside and there, in the box, laid a magnificent satin red dress. With a memo on top.
"We're both invited to the mayor's ball tonight. I get to show off my fiancée while you socialize with the top 1% of Seoul socialites. Be ready by 7 pm. I'll see you tonight."
You put the note aside, your attention going back to the silk red gown. Hyunggyu surely didn't spare any expense. You took the dress out of the box and studied it for a moment. It looked so expensive, you felt like you were in the wrong by simply touching it. Reading the note again, you sighed heavily. This was your life now. Spending your days locked in this gilded prison and your nights hanging by Hyunggyu's arms as he showed you off. You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath. In this game you're about to play, you either win, or you die. Hyunggyu might have brought you down, but there was no way in hell you were going to let him win that easily.
You put the red gown down and started undressing. As you stayed there, in only your panties, you swiftly turned around, now very conscious of the door that could be open by basically anyone at any point. You weren't sure of a lot of things about your situation but one thing was for sure: for the time being, you were considered a prisoner here. And prisoners aren't allowed any privacy. You turned back towards the dress and swiftly but cautiously put it on. The satin slid right down your hips, the fabric hugging your every curve. The gown fit you like a glove and for a second you wondered whether Hyunggyu secretly took your body measurements while you were sleeping. The fleeting thought left as you heard a knock on the door. You turned around, startled as you saw a tall figure slip in through the door, not waiting for you to invite them in. Then again who were you to believe you had the privilege of inviting anyone in here. You saw a mess of blond hair close the door as he turned around and you recognized Daniel. As soon as he laid his eyes on you, it was like he was starstruck. He couldn't help but stare, his eyes wandering your body, tracing your every curve, wondering how the satin of your dress would feel bunched up in his hands as he cornered you against a wall. But as his eyes made their way back up your body to land on your face, he was met with an expression he wasn't expecting. It was almost like you were mad. Were you? You were. When you realized the man standing in front of you was Daniel, mixed emotions flowed through your body. For some reason, you felt safe and at peace whenever he was around. But he was also the person who promised to keep you safe before leaving you with the big bad wolf himself. He promised he'd keep you safe and you'd almost gotten raped. Was that how he was planning to keep you safe? Was that how he was planning to get you out of here? As those questions ran wild in your mind, he made his way to you, stopping about a meter away from you. His eyes did not leave your face for an instant, studying your expression, every tiny muscle twitch. "You look absolutely stunning." You acted like you didn't care but your heart was saying otherwise. You could feel it beating faster and faster in your chest as Daniel grew closer and as sweet words escaped his plump lips. You tried to keep your composure to the best of your ability and answered coldly. "What are you doing here?" Daniel seemed slightly hurt you'd suddenly be so cold, not exactly knowing what was wrong but feeling something must have happened. You wanted him to understand. You wanted him to get how terrified you had been the night before when he left you to fend for yourself. In only a couple of hours, you had put so much trust in him, in a complete stranger, and you wanted him to know the time of trusting him blindly was over. If he was determined to actually help you, he'd have to prove it. For a second you feared you might be cutting off ties with the only person who might be willing to help you but as the feeling of Hyunggyu's hands ghosted over your body, you realized you'd rather be alone than fighting alongside somebody you couldn't fully put your trust in. As you thought back to the night before, your hands protectively went to your sides, trying to chase away the feeling left behind by Hyunggyu. And Daniel instantly caught the slight change in your attitude. He saw the way you slightly furrowed your brows as you clutched your dress but he didn't dare ask about it. He knew what kind of man Hyunggyu could be. He was the kind of man to take care of his own people. He might be a little hard to get at first, but as long as you don't cross him, he has your back. But with women, he tended to be a completely different man. From a loyalty-driven guy, he transformed into this dog who went after anything that moved. And even though Daniel could swear he saw a glimpse of a twinkle in Hyunggyu's eyes when he looked at you, he knew very well what Hyunggyu was capable of. And if that's what had happened, he'd rather let you come to terms with it and tell him when you were ready.
After a few moments of silence, Daniel shifted in place and cleared his throat. "I'm actually here to help you prepare for tonight." His voice brought you back to reality, escaping the haunting memory of the night before. Your icy stare finding Daniel's eyes as you did your best to look unbothered. "Prepare me for that ball we're supposed to go to? You're going to help me do my make-up or something?" Your icy tone sent a shiver through Daniel but your attempt at looking nonchalant brought a smirk to his lips. "No, no, I'll let you figure that out on your own." He ran a hand through his hair, his fingers landing on the back of his neck as he tentatively looked up at you. "Tonight's pretty important. Some people are doubting Hyunggyu hyungnim's ability to take over the business and he needs you on your best behavior." You scoffed, crossing your arms in front of your chest. This was completely absurd. This man who proclaimed himself your fiancé, dragged you out of your home one day, shooting your father on the way out and decided to take you to a very important ball the next. Daniel sighed seeing your reaction. "I know it must sound completely crazy to you but this is your ticket to get in Hyunggyu hyungnim's good graces. Remember what I'm going to teach you, help him gain some ground tonight with Seoul's finest and he might just give you some more freedom. This is all very sudden, I know, but I need you to keep it together if you want a shot at getting out of here." You couldn't believe the words that escaped Daniel's lips. But then again, this whole situation was so absurd, you felt like this was only fitting. Your mom's voice sneaked into your mind, reminding you to keep your composure, telling you to keep fighting, for them. Your father's face popped up in your mind and you felt tears pricking at your eyes as you thought of never being able to see him again, as you thought of his body rotting on the cold hard floor of the restaurant. Daniel saw the change in attitude, seeing your vulnerability crawl back up, no longer hiding behind the tough exterior you tried to put forth with him. His heart ached knowing you thought you needed to put up a front with him. But then again, how could you not? He was a stranger to you. He was someone who watched his boss shoot your father in the head without doing a single thing to stop him. How could you not be wary of him? And he felt such a strange attraction towards you. Although he felt like he had known you all his life, he hadn't and he knew he couldn't force that upon you. You needed to move at your own pace and he was ready to give you exactly that. After a few seconds of silence, Daniel started digging around in his pocket. Clutching the leather watch tightly in his hand, he tentatively took it out as he extended his hand towards you. For a moment you didn't really understand what he was doing until he opened his hand to reveal your dad's watch. Your eyes went wide as you instantly closed the distance between the two of you, taking the watch into your hands. You stared at the watch as tears started to silently roll down your face. "Where'd you get that?" Your tone was a mix of sadness and anger and in that moment, he froze in place, regretting everything he had done. Who did he think he was burying your father for you? His heart was beating against his chest as his mouth went dry, looking for the right words to appease your hurt. "I-I went back there." He looked over your every feature, the tear-stains left behind on your cheeks. "I buried your father in the backyard... next to the other grave." He gulped as he watched you caress the glass lovingly, your fingertips going over the crack running through it. Yesterday morning, this watch had been intact and that afternoon, as Hyunggyu decided to stomp all over your heart, he did the same to this very watch. Staring at the crack running through the thin glass, you promised to run your fingertips over this very crack every time you felt your heart waver. Every time you felt like giving up and letting Hyunggyu run the rest of your life, you'd look at this broken leather watch and think back to the day he single-handedly decided to change the course of your entire life for the worst. "I thought you'd want something to remember him by... I hope I didn't overstep." You wrapped the watch around your left wrist, admiring how it loosely fit your wrist. Without looking up at him, you snaked your arms around his waist, grazing his sides as you pushed his arms aside. You pressed your face against his chest, slightly sobbing as you closed your eyes, listening to the sound of his heartbeat. After the initial shock from your reaction, Daniel embraced you in his long arms, his hands trailing the small of your back as he realized the slick red gown was backless. His fingertips grazed your bare skin as he felt goosebumps on your back. "Thank you." you whispered as you hugged him even closer, breathing in his scent. "For the watch. And-" after taking a little pause, basking in his warmth, you slowly moved away, looking up at him as his hands stayed protectively on the small of your back. "And thank you for allowing my father some peace." You stood on your tiptoes as you planted your lips on his right cheek, your arms snaking around his neck as he squeezed you harder against his chest. You placed your head on his shoulder, still on your tiptoes as he let your fragrance embrace him. You let a sigh escape past your lips, feeling a strange sense of comfort and safety wash over you. You opened your eyes and slightly squeezed the back of his neck. "For some odd reason, I feel like I can count on you. Even when I should think you're the devil for associating with someone like him, for a reason unbeknownst to me... I don't." A slight smile played on his lips as the words you uttered comforted him in where he stood with you. You separated yourself from him, your gaze finding his sparkling eyes in a second. "Please don't make me regret that." His right hand went up to your face, tracing your hairline with his fingertips before landing on your collarbone. "I won't. I promise."
You both enjoyed each other's company for a little longer before Daniel had to excuse himself. He told you to meet him downstairs after you'd change and you looked a little confused as you watched him walk out the door. Change into what? Hyunggyu was ready to buy you a gown that was probably in the tens of thousands but he expected you to wear your dirty, blood-stained clothes as long as you stayed here? Cheap bastard. That's when you heard a knock on the door. The young boy you had seen yesterday poked his head into your room again as he had to do a double take on your appearance. You saw a slight blush crawl up his neck, settling on his cheeks as you chuckled and went over to him, the satin of your dress flowing over your curves. Might as well get as many people as possible on your side, right? He stood straight up, only opening the door wide enough to hand you some more comfortable clothing. You thanked him and after taking a last look at you, he closed the door and left you to change, a slightly embarrassed smile playing on his lips. Ok, so maybe not such a cheap bastard. You quickly changed out of your dress and laid it on the bed, hopping into the fitted black jeans and loose black t-shirt that had been picked out for you. Apparently, your future husband was going for the "no one dare look at my fiancée" kind of vibe. You tentatively went outside your room, making your way downstairs. You had a really good sense of direction and even though you had only walked these halls once, you found your way without a hitch. As you reached the bottom of the stairs, someone escorted you towards a brightly lit room where you found Daniel, serving some tea. You sat down opposite him on one of the two huge sofas that took most of the space in the room. Yesterday evening, this room was filled with guns and mountains of cocaine but today, under the sunlight seeping through the windows, it looked as innocent as a room could get. The two huge ivory sofas gave you a false sense of security as the smooth carpet fibers were tickling your ankles. The glass coffee table that separated Daniel and you added this quaint and cozy feeling to the room which didn't seem like the kind of vibe a Mafia overlord would generally go for. "You in the mafia sure love your soft sofas. Is this entire place just tiny rooms where you can chatter over a nice cup of tea?" He chuckled, pushing the cup of fuming liquid over to you as he brought his own cup to his lips. You watched him closely as he brought the dainty cup to his plump lips, sipping on the hot liquid and sighing in content as the warmth flowed down his throat. You observed him, your mouth salivating as you found yourself gulping at the sight. You slightly shook your head before he caught you spacing out and took the cup into your own hands. "It's actually just the one. And the little alcove in between the first and second floor. Hyunggyu hyugnim likes to treat his guest right." He said, looking up at you before putting his cup back down. "Before murdering them." You sipped on your tea as you saw Daniel's face harden from the corner of your eye. "Sometimes." The liquid caught in your throat as you gulped down hard. You felt like you knew what kind of man Hyunggyu was but having Daniel acknowledge it felt like bringing something abstract to life. You placed the cup on your left knee, your right hand reaching for the sofa, your fingertips brushing the soft surface. "Guess this poor bastard doesn't get to live long before being thrown out with blood all over it." "(y/n)." You instantly looked up, feeling the urgency in Daniel's voice. "This kind of remark is fine with me but be careful of who might overhear. Hyunggyu hyungnim likes a woman of character but be careful with your attitude. He needs you on your best behavior, especially tonight." You scoffed, your hand grabbing the edge of the sofa so hard your knuckles turned white. "He needs me on a leash." You felt your heart tighten as you thought back to last night and the threat he had made. Whether you liked it or not, he owned you. "But I get it. I either behave or he'll make me regret it." You sighed, looking at the ground. "Not like he hasn't already." You whispered as a sob crawled its way up your throat. You swallowed hard, trying to keep your composure. "What does that mean?" You took another sip of tea before placing the cup back on the table. "Nevermind." "No. What do you mean?" You felt your eyes start to water as you thought back to the night before. To his hands on you. To his lips, leaving scorching hot marks on your body. You ground your teeth and closed your eyes, not wanting to talk about it anymore. No matter how hard you tried to close yourself off and forget about all that had happened, you couldn't do that. You couldn't just move past it. But you had to. For your own survival. You had to be strong and face all of this head on. "I said, nevermind. Drop it." Your hot and cold attitude left him confused. He didn't know where he stood with you. One moment, you're hugging him with all your might, your arms wrapped around his waist like your life depended on it and the other you close yourself off, refusing any kind of help. It was frustrating and he promised himself he'd get you to open up. One day.
You spent the next two hours learning all the big dogs' names. Daniel made sure you knew how to walk in heels, which was a very entertaining lesson. He didn't put on his own pair to straight-up show you how to roll your hips from side to side but he made damn sure you knew how to. He also made sure you understood that tonight, all eyes had to be on you and Hyunggyu. You had to make every man present wanting to be with you and every woman present wanting to be you. Simple, right? He also made sure you understood that even though everyone had to be looking and drooling over you tonight, you were to look at Hyunggyu and Hyunggyu only. And most of all, you had to look like you were happy to be by his side. As Daniel went on with his "lesson", your heart was burning in your chest, thinking of having to spend an entire evening hanging by his side, getting introduced to everyone as his fiancée. You were going to have to smile and pretend like your relationship was completely genuine and you were head over heels for the man who put a bullet through your dad's skull. Just thinking about spending an entire evening by his side made you shake in fear and anger. But what could you do? Even if you decided to make a run for it, where would you go? You didn't have anyone. Not anymore. There was nowhere for you to run to. You were alone and this, this was your destiny. And following your mother's words, you decided to play this game right.
After Daniel went over everything one last time, he let you get back to your room, telling you to get ready. As soon as you got back, you headed straight for the bathroom, drawing yourself a nice hot bath. You slipped in, the warmth of the water making your skin tingle. This time, you stayed afloat. Your arms on each side of the bathtub, your head laying on the backend, you stared at the ceiling, imagining the bright blue sky hiding behind this boring white ceiling. You wondered whether birds were flying around above you, enjoying their freedom. You wondered whether they knew how lucky they were to travel the world, in search of a place to call home. You weren't ever going to be able to have that now. You didn't have any family left. Your father's men were probably too scared for their lives to try and save you. Or they simply didn't care to even try. One of his guys probably jumped on the opportunity and took over your father's run-down kingdom. You sighed heavily as you thought of your mom and dad. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, the water stilling around your body. You thought back to the words you could swear you heard your mom utter as you were deep in sleep and made a promise to yourself. No matter what happened. With Daniel. With Hyunggyu. No matter how great Hyunggyu treats you. No matter how badly he tries to spoil you with expensive gifts. No matter how fancy your life gets. You promised yourself you would never forget this was the man who destroyed the plans you had in life. This was the man that had decided to single-handedly uproot you from everything you knew and throw you in one of the most dangerous environments you could find yourself in. This was the man responsible for losing the last standing member of your family. No matter what feelings started to bloom, you could never forget that. And you promised yourself you wouldn't.
You spent the next hour and a half getting all dolled-up. While you were with Daniel, learning everything you needed to know for tonight, someone had bought and laid out on the dressing table all the makeup you could possibly ever need. From three different eye-shadow palettes to six different shades of red lipstick, this was all so over-the-top. You decided to curl your hair, letting them smoothly fall on your shoulders. You exited the bathroom and glanced at the red gown on the bed. You caressed the fabric, sure you had never felt anything so smooth in your entire life. You slipped it on, the fabric hugging your curves just as it had this morning. You looked at yourself in the big mirror through the bathroom door and you couldn't believe the person you were looking at was actually you. Money sure goes a long way to look good. As you admired yourself in the mirror for what felt like the first time in forever, you heard the door click as someone wearing a suit slipped in, a box in hand. The tall figure turned around to reveal Hyunggyu holding a shoebox. He was wearing an all-black suit. Black shirt, black tie, black vest and black pants. His hair was slicked back and in the bedroom light, the scar crossing his face had never looked so... sexy. Your breath caught in your throat as you forced yourself to try and think straight. A smirk was playing on his lips as he looked at you hungrily, licking his lips. Even from a couple of meters away, you could see the pure lust filling his eyes, looking at you like you were a delicious prey. "I knew red would be your color." His eyes scanned over your body once more before landing on your face, a wide smile spreading on his. Suddenly he looked almost... innocent. He looked like any other guy you'd meet at a coffee shop on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Minus the scar across the face. And yet you'd seen his dark side. Or at least a part of it. You knew how terrifying he could get and the fact that you felt your lower stomach tighten as he walked closer to you had your chest shaking in fear. He offered you a hand as he motioned you over to the small bench at the foot of the bed. "Sit." His voice was like pure honey. That's when you realized this man was dangerous. He was a sleeping volcano waiting to be awakened. One day, he was the kind of man to try and force himself on you and the other, he'd act all gentlemanly. He was terrifying. And for some odd reason, although your brain was screaming for your to run for the hills, your body followed every word that dripped from his lips. You did as he told and sat down as he put one knee on the ground and placed the shoe box on your right. He opened it up to reveal red high heels that looked extremely expensive. As he picked one up, you peeked at the bottom of the shoe and realized these were Louboutins. You were never one to really care for fashion items but then again, you never had the means to even try. He helped you put both shoes on before reaching into his pocket, taking out a square velvet box. You gulped as you observed his fingers dance over the red velvet. He opened the little box to reveal a massive diamond ring. You kept yourself from gasping at the sight as he reached over for your left hand, looking up at you before slipping the ring on. As his skin made contact with yours, a shiver ran down your spine and this time, you weren't quite sure what it meant. "Thought I'd make it official." he said, a smirk spreading on his face. You held your hand out, looking over at the massive diamond ring adorning your finger. You felt a heavy weight settle on your chest as you realized this entire situation was becoming reality. Before, you had somehow felt like him saying he'd make you his wife was just his way of keeping you in line. But no. He actually intended on forcefully making you stay by his side. Your chest tightened at the thought, the small waver you might have felt seeing him looking all dapper leaving your body as soon as it had crept up on you. He helped you up and looked over you once more as he offered his arm for you to take. Taking a deep breath, you put on a fake smile as you laced your arm with his. Every time your skin touched his, this shiver would run down your spine and at this point, you didn't know whether this was a good or a bad thing anymore. Your hand wrapped around his forearm as you sealed your fate. As you stared at the ring on your finger, his eyes studied your face. Behind his fierce gaze, his mind was racing. He didn't know what to make of your whole attitude. Half-anxious that you had a plan to completely ruin his reputation this evening, he opted to believe he had actually dompted you and you had become his well-mannered little puppy. If that's what he thought, he'd be in for quite the ride. From the corner of your eye, you saw him staring at you, his brow furrowing. You looked up at him, doe-eyed as you tried your best to plaster a genuine smile on your face. "Let's go." You whispered as you gave his forearm a slight squeeze. A smirk tugged at his lips as he led you out the door.
You looked around and couldn't believe your eyes. This was your very first time in a limousine. A goddamn limousine. The man sitting next to you might have been a monster and a complete excuse for a human being but he sure knew how to go all out. He sat down next to you, leaving a good enough space between the two of you that you didn't feel suffocated by his presence. But as soon as the car started, his hand crept up to your knee and it stayed there the entire way. You couldn't help but stare at his thumb, rubbing circles on your inner thigh as you tried to keep your composure. You knew better than to push him away but you weren't going to play into his game. At least not in private. You might get nominated for a Golden Globe for the performance you were planning on putting tonight, but he should know better than to expect for you to act like his future wife behind closed doors. After about half an hour in complete silence, your mind going in circle over Hyunggyu's touch, you finally arrived at the Mayor's mansion. The right door next to Hyunggyu opened and you spotted Daniel's blonde locks waving in the breeze. You hadn't realized Daniel had come along but then again you should have known. Daniel and Hyunggyu might be at two opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to human decency but Daniel was still his second in command. Hyunggyu exited first, buttoning his vest and drinking in the view of the majestic mansion before turning around to offer you his hand. You looked up at him, hesitant to take his hand at first. You saw his insistent gaze and the crowd of people starting to gather behind him and tentatively put your hand in his. A smirk played on his lips as he brought your hand to his lips and helped you out of the limo. As soon as you stood by his side, his arm snaked around your back, his left hand landing on your bruised hip. You almost winced at the touch, trying as hard as you could to hold it in. You turned towards Hyunggyu, giving him a fake smile as you saw Daniel in the corner of your eye looking upon the scene while closing the car door. Hyunggyu moved closer to you, his lips brushing against your ear as he whispered. "Ready, darling?" You could see Daniel looking at you, waiting for a reaction, waiting for you to put on an act. You thought to what he'd told you this afternoon and took a deep breath. Your red lips parted into a smile as Hyunggyu looked into your eyes deeply. You held his gaze as your hand landed on his. A shiver coursed through your body as your skin made contact with his. A smile tugging at his lips from your reaction, his thumb started to draw circles into your hip just like he did in the car and you gritted your teeth, trying to hold the pain in. "Ready as I'll ever be." you managed to say through the pain. He planted a kiss on your cheek as flashes of light attacked the both of you and you finally noticed the armada of paparazzi on both sides of the red carpet leading up to the mansion. You acted coy upon receiving his kiss which seemed to please Hyunggyu and the paparazzi. His lips left your cheek, his eyes gleaming with pride and satisfaction as he seemed to think you had given up control completely. "That's what I like to hear, sweetheart." His hand left your side as he laced his fingers with yours and you felt like you could finally breathe. Daniel appeared from behind Hyunggyu, motioning you both to move towards the steps leading up to the mansion. "Hyungnim, we should be going." As the words left his lips, his gaze was fixated on you. You had never seen such intensity from Daniel. His eyes darted to your hand, your fingers intertwined with Hyunggyu's and you could swear you saw him clench his jaw. As his eyes made their way back to your face, you slightly nodded towards him, assuring him you were alright. You hoped he understood. Before you could make sure Daniel had gotten your message, Hyunggyu was leading you through the jungle of camera flashes as you tried your best to smile for the camera and look happy. You made sure to wave with your left hand, exposing the massive diamond ring that had only been on your hand for about an hour. As you climbed up the stairs to the Mayor's mansion, you looked up at the sky and thought of your mom. With her voice ringing true in your mind, you looked to your right at Hyunggyu and smirked. Game on.
I'm currently writing the next chapter of IHL and depending on how long it takes me to finish it, it could possibly drop tonight (Paris time 🇫🇷). I still have one big important scene to write that's gonna take me at least an hour and a couple others that are more to set up the mood so it should go fairly fast. But chapter 3 is going live tomorrow night at the latest~~ hope you're excited! 😏😊💕
EDIT: IT’S DONE. FINALLY. I’m going to proof-read, tweak it a bit and then it’s going live~~~~~
I enrolled in Korean studies at a uni in Paris. Basically we're learning Korean and everything about Korean society and Korean history (and the region around the Korean Peninsula). 😊 And since I spent a year learning in Korea, I got to skip the first year but because of that the paperwork is a complete mess. 😤😅 But I'm studying something I'm really interested in so it's worth it, just a little bit of a pain. ☺️💕thanks for asking babe~ 💘💖
Will you update "I Hate Liars" soon?<|3 I've been loving your stories so bad x-x
I'm so glad you're enjoying my stories babe 😊💕 well as I've said before, the layout for the next chapter is all done. I have like 20% written but I haven't found the time to finish it yet. If I manage to get my uni stuff in order by the end of this week, I'll try and have the next chapter posted this weekend. Sorry for making you wait so long but thanks for waiting for me~ 💗💖
I thought you forgot about the i hate liars scenario tbh
Well I definitely didn't. It's just that 5k+ scenarios just don't pop out of my brain when I need them to. Also I just started uni and I'm in between two grades so it's a complete mess and my university's administration is really slow so basically I've been struggling to get all my papers in order.... believe me I'd rather be writing than dealing with this crap but for at least a week, I'm putting the scenarios on the back burner while I deal with real life stuff.
So the layout for the next chapter is all done but it's already 1.5k+ which means it'll probably be another long-ass chapter so it'll take me some time to write 😳🙄 if I get enough inspiration, I'll write it tomorrow but I can't promise anything. Just know that it's coming soon~~ 😏💖
This is the anon that requested he Minhyun angst PLEASE MAKE A PART 2 IT WAS AMAZING
So you're not mad I completely strayed away from hardcore angst? 😳😳 I actually do intend to get to some hardcore angst in there but that'll probably be like two parts down the road and then I'll cleanly end the scenario there~~ 😊 hope that's okay with you and glad you still liked it 💕💖💗
OKAY BUT teach me how to write as good as you. That Minhyun vampire au is just sooooo good. I deadass reread the first part before reading the new one. Wow.👌👌 And I'm also happy I'm not the only one who looks at him and lowkey thinks he's a vampire. 😂 especially in hands on me with that high collar 😏 Also I hope you feel okay now and everything's fine. 😄 - that someone who mentioned haknyeon before (can i ask for anon name pretty please?)
Oh jeez you’re so sweet 💗💕 hehehe I’m so happy to hear you say that and honestly, I don’t really have a way. But it’s either I have inspiration and something comes out or I’m in an inspiration drought that can last days to weeks. I’ve been trying so hard to write a part 2 but like all inspiration has left my body… 😰😭 I think that’s what uni is doing to me with all their administrative bs. 😡😤 right? like jeez i don’t even have a thing for vampires but I’d let that boy dig into my neck anytime. 😏😜 Anon pretty is yours bb, also can I say how absolutely ecstatic I am to have a regular like damn love you babe💖💘💖
Author’s note: so when I started writing this scenario it was supposed to be the angsty follow-up to my minhyun vampire!au because the anon requested hardcore angst and I kind of veered away from that. well. let’s just say it happened again. Minhyun just has that effect on me where I have to write smut. I guess. Also, this is my first actual smut ever so please be gentle~~ I’d happily write a part 2 to this, so if you liked it don’t hesitate to send me some feedback :)
Summary: After your first time with this man you had discovered to be a vampire, your entire life changed. You moved in with him and gave him all the power in the relationship. One morning, you decide to take some of that power back.
Ever since that day, everything had changed. Minhyun couldn't bear the thought of you going back to an empty apartment after a day spent with him and although you put up a fight, not even two weeks after your first time together, he had you moving into his place. The first few days had been extremely awkward for you. His place was really nice but let's just say Minhyun was very minimalistic when it came to furniture and his place simply felt... cold. You found yourself always trying to get out of the apartment, deciding to hang out with friends anywhere but his place. Your place. Although it didn't feel like it quite yet. Minhyun was very dominant. May it be in your everyday life or in the bedroom, he liked to be in control. He liked to see you squirm under his touch, following his every command. And let's just say that him never giving you any power in the relationship didn't help you to adapt and feel at home. But last night, as you fell asleep in his arms, you had decided to stop letting yourself be the follower in this relationship and take some power back for yourself.
You woke up in Minhyun's warm embrace, basking in his sweet and intoxicating scent. You placed a cold hand on his chest, propping yourself up on one elbow, admiring his every feature. He pretended to be asleep, letting you stare as long as you wanted to. You started to get impatient and moved on top of him. You placed a sweet, chaste kiss on his lips which had him smiling, eyes still closed. His hands instantly found their way to your hips and he flipped you over, hovering over you, hair falling into his eyes. Every time he looked at you like that, you felt like your heart was going to burst. Even after months of knowing him, you couldn't adapt to the intensity and to be completely honest, you weren't mad about that. "Pretending to be sleeping, uh?" you teased, hitting his chest with as much force as a 4-year-old. He brought his mouth to your neck, leaving three open mouthed kisses from your ear to your collarbone. You gripped his shoulders, eyes fluttering closed under the exhilarating warmth of his lips on your skin. He nuzzled his nose in the crook of your neck, leaving one last kiss on the soft skin under your ear. "I have some things to do today so I won't be able to see you until tonight. I just wanted to give you enough time to get your quota." You chuckled slightly, running your hand through his hair mindlessly. "My quota?" He propped himself up, looking back at you, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Of me. I wouldn't want my princess missing me. Too much." You punched his chest a little harder this time, managing to extirpate yourself from under him as he rolled over on the side, pretending to be hurt. You turned towards him, not even slightly concerned for his safety. He was a vampire after all. You took the hem of the long t-shirt you were wearing into your hands, slightly bringing it upwards so it rode up your thighs, exposing your behind. You saw his eyes darken, following your every move. "Guess I should do the same for you. Wouldn't want you missing your princess' body in the middle of the day." You turned away from him, walking towards the bathroom. With each step, you swung your hips from side to side, making your shirt ride up even more. You heard a groan come from the bed as you stopped at the entrance to the bathroom, leaning on the doorframe. You looked back at him, a playful look in your eyes. "Well?" You saw his eyebrow shoot up, his attention entirely on you. "You coming or not?" In a single second, he was behind you, his hands roaming from your hips to your stomach. He brought you closer to him and through the thin fabric of your shirt and his briefs, you could feel his growing bulge pulsing against your lower back. You turned around, your right hand finding its way to the band of his briefs. You played with the elastic with one finger, releasing it and letting it slap against his bare stomach. A slight wince escaped from his lips as a smirk played on your face. You slipped a hand down his briefs, palming his member as you felt it pulse against your touch. Minhyun through his head back in pleasure, a moan escaping his lips. Your lips went to find his torso as you placed open mouthed kisses on his pecs, your hand still working on the raging boner that kept growing under your touch. You moved your way down his torso, getting on your knees as his head snapped towards you, his eyes dark with lust. Every time things had gotten intimate between the two of you, Minhyun had always been the one in charge. And seeing him on the verge of pure ecstasy from your hand only had you feeling a certain sense of pride. And power. You left kisses from his left hip to his right, slightly tugging at his briefs. Lust flowed in his eyes but something in them changed. For the first time ever, you swore you could see him pleading with you to bring him to his release. A smirk tugged at your lips as you took the band of his brief between your teeth, bringing it all the way down to the floor. He stepped out of it, throwing it somewhere in the bedroom with his left foot. You brought your face back up, ending up face to face with his raging erection right in front of you. A smug smirk graced your lips as you basked in the way he was completely ready for you. The way he needed you so badly. You placed an open mouthed kiss on his tip, a moan escaping his lips. Your tongue peeked out of your mouth as you looked at him through your lashes, an exhilarating feeling coursing through your body. A single bead of sweat rolled down his forehead and his eyes were closed shut as you pressed your tongue hard against his base, licking all the way to his tip, bringing it into your mouth. His hands found their way to your hair. You felt a slight pressure on the back of your head pushing you towards his member and you sat back on your heels, moving away from him. His eyes shot open at the sudden lack of touching, his wandering gaze finding you in an instant. "You want me to suck you dry, right?" He nodded, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he gulped hard. A growing ball of nerves and pleasure starting building between your legs as you saw him completely helpless under your touch. You felt your folds becoming wetter by the minute as you rubbed your thighs together, trying your hardest not to let show how wet you were from seeing him squirm under your touch. "Use your words." You saw the confusion in his eyes. Never before had you been so dominating with him and he couldn't help but feel conflicted as to what he was feeling. Because he was absolutely loving it. All the blood in his body moving towards his nether region, he had a hard time forming words. "Yes, princess." You raised your eyebrows, waiting for something. He knew exactly what it was. So often had he made you beg before giving you what you wanted. Now was your turn. "Please." You grinned, feeling accomplished seeing him squirm under your command. "Your wish is my command, my king." His member twitched as the words left your mouth. His pet name for you had always been princess. It naturally fell into place. But hearing you call him your king made him react in a way he could never have predicted. You brought your hands up, grabbing at his ass cheeks, a smug grin plastered on your face as you felt him flex under your touch. You looked back up at him, his eyes fixated on you, pleading with you silently to bring him to his release. You placed a kiss on the top of his beautiful cock before you took his entire length in your mouth. As your mouth reached his base, the tip of his cock tickled the back of your throat and you gagged. You felt his cock twitch inside of your mouth at the feeling. You kept taking him in your mouth, speeding up as sweet cursing started spilling from his lips. His hand found its way back into your hair but he simply grabbed at it, not daring to force you into anything again. You brought your right hand to his balls, taking them in your grasp. You started playing with them as you kept taking him in your mouth. "Fuck princess, your-" He shuddered as you scratched the soft skin between his balls and his ass. "You feel so good." His grip on your hair tightened as he drew close to his release. "God I'm so- so close." You deep-throated him once more, his dick twitching inside of your mouth as he released his load at the back of your throat. You swallowed his sweet release as you continued sucking his cock, helping him ride off his high. His grip on your hair slightly loosened as you brought yourself to your feet, bringing a finger to the corners of your mouth, cleaning yourself up of his cum. His eyes lazily opened as you brought the finger to your mouth, sucking slowly on it, savoring his taste. He brought his hand up to your face, placing a loose strand of hair behind your ear. He closed the distance between you two, his hands finding their way to the hem of your shirt. He tugged on it slightly as if to ask for your permission. You smirked and threw your arms above your head, staring straight into his eyes. Your shirt left your body as Minhyun threw it down on the floor, leaving you only in your panties in front of his naked and disheveled figure. The look in his eyes suddenly changed as he went from the submissive mess he had been under your touch to his normal dominant self. Lust flooded his eyes as he brought a hand to your neck, moving your hair away. He grabbed onto your shoulder with his left hand, bringing his right to your lips, tracing your bottom lip with his thumb. "My turn, princess."
So no one really asked for it but Minhyun was just calling for me so I wrote a follow-up to the vampire!au. A smut follow-up. It’s all ready to go and will be posted tonight at 10pm Paris time which is like 4pm Eastern time or something.
Sorry for the wait, I’ve been stressed and procrastinating a lot lately but I hope you’ll be able to forgive me with what’s coming tonight~
