You canât compare them. A success can mean getting an A in your hardest class, or making tea, or having good friends in your life. Itâs different for everyone at different points in their life.
Cards Against Humanity is letting customers pick which 2016 candidate theyâll donate to, as long as itâs Clinton
The gameâs creators have launched a fundraiser, America Votes With Cards Against Humanity, where theyâre letting their customers decide which of the two campaigns should received the donations the company collects.
âToday, weâre letting America choose between two new expansion packs about either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump,â the projectâs website reads. âAt the end of this promotion, Cards Against Humanity will tally up the sales of both packs, and depending on which pack gets more support, we will donate all the money in support of Hillary Clintonâs campaign.â

I think the fact that within Hogwarts thereâs a lot of distaste for Slytherin and Hufflepuff shows some interesting insight into the wizarding community. Like, Hufflepuff represents hard work and fairness, right? But thereâs the idea that Hufflepuffs are losers, sort of the proverbial nice guys who finish last. On the other hand, Slytherins, who represent cunning and ambition and personal drive, are seen as cutthroat and generally nasty and mean.Â
Ultimately, Hufflepuff and Slytherin are both rooted in philosophies on self betterment and achieving success in life, both in terms of being a better person and being a more powerful/wealthy person. The obvious question raised by Hogwarts studentâs disapproval of both Slytherin and Hufflepuff is this: if it makes you a loser to succeed through hard work and fairness, but a cheat to succeed through cleverness and an attitude of doing whatever it takes to achieve your goals, how is someone in the wizarding world expected to gain power/wealth/status if they arenât already born with it?Â
Itâs also worth noting that in a world where magic can do your work for you, Hufflepuffs are scoffed at for being willing to work at all, and Slytherins are shunned for taking advantage of magic to itâs fullest.
Listen I am so here for platonic âI love you"s. I donât care if you think âI love youâ is some sacred phrase to only utter to one person in your life, i donât care if you think it makes me look overbearing. I say âI love youâ to my friends every time I say goodbye because I want them to know 100% without a doubt that I care for them and love them and am there for them so so much.
Some of my favorites from Gen One!Â

why do you think are non-shippers like spacewalkeraven able to appreciate lexa and blarke shippers spend so much time on writing metas about how abusive clexa apparently is? do you think it's really just a 'shipping' issue they have because leax gets in the way of their ship or do you think it has something to do with lesbophobia. i'm not sure if you are the right person to ask but you had your fair share with some awful blarkes so i think your judgement would be more honest in this case.
Alright first of all let me say that this is a generalized speech. Obviously there are always exceptions. Iâm mostly referring to a particular group of people, and this is merely my opinion at the end of the day, but Iâd rather make it clear. That said, I honestly think itâs a combination of shipping and internalized heteronormativity. They are tightly connected when it comes to Clexa, because nothing like Clexa had honestly happened before on television. Queer characters are a minority. Queer lead characters are even rarer. When that queer lead enters a canon relationship with another girl, while her relationship (romantic) with the male lead stays nothing more than fanon and is barely acknowledged when compared to the canon wlw relationship, you have something pretty much never seen before. And I think the shippers of the fanon ship were destabilized by this.
I have never watched Legend of Korra, but Iâve heard a bit about it and I cannot help but think about that âWeâre popping the biggest bottle when Makorra happens tonightâ post. People took for granted that the M/F relationship would be endgame and the F/F one would stay a crackship, and so were shocked by that finale. That is heteronormativity. Plus, from my understanding, and please correct me if Iâm wrong, Mako and Korra used to be in an actual canon romantic relationship.
With Be//arke, this never happened. The male and the female lead NOT hooking up? There must be a reason, the writers must have a plan, itâs still slow-burn. Itâs impossible for this relationship to be just platonic.
Now, everyone ships whatever they want to ship, that is not the problem. The problem is this systematic demonization and vilification of only the lesbian character. Fair enough, I joined the fandom only last year despite watching the show from the Pilot, but I donât remember ever reading 50k analyses dedicated to demonizing Finn. So why does this happen with Lexa? It may not be on purpose, but I do think this visceral hate for her comes from heteronormativity. There is anger and frustration because your ship isnât canon yet (and there is nothing wrong with this), and added to that, your ship is completely ignored in favor of a ship that usually stays a crackship, something that when it comes to television, can be canon only in fanfictions.
So what happens next? Aggressive rejection of the WLW ship, demonization of the lesbian character, and âmeta teamsâ, dedicated to deconstruct the show and reconstruct it to make it fit a scenario where Blarke is canon. A scenario where Blarke and Bellamy are the center of everything, and where Lexa is a monster, a tyrant, an autocrat (and I want to specify that a certain person started calling Lexa an autocrat instead of tyrant because she thinks we donât understand that they mean the same thing). The truth is that Lexa is none of those things, and the show is not centered around Blarke, just like it was not centered around Clexa. They are different parts of Clarkeâs journey. Both Lexa and Bellamy start as antagonists, and they grow into Clarkeâs love and Clarkeâs partner. I will never understand why Blarkes take âplatonicâ as an insult. Saying that Bellamy and Clarkeâs relationship is platonic not only is true, but is not an insult, and itâs not dismissive of the importance of their relationship. Saying that their relationship is important doesnât take anything from Clexa, and vice-versa. Why? Because they are different types of relationship. It really isnât that hard to understand. Thatâs why non-shippers can appreciate both without any drama. @spacewalkeravenreyesâs analyses are so brilliant because they are objective. Whether itâs an analysis of Lexa or Bellamy or Raven etc. there are no bias to be found. Just a, Iâd dare to say, almost professional examination of facts and characters and relationships. The fact that individuals like rosy called her analyses biased simply for defending Lexa is a pretty telling sign. Well, let me tell you. She is part of the Blarkeâs âmeta teamâ, arguably the most active member, and Iâve never seen someone more biased. What happens in that team and that is encouraged by her is the example of bad analysis.Â
Clarke was talking about Lexa and not Raven!ALIE in 3.11 when she said âI let her get to meâ to Bellamy.
Bellamy nodding to Abby after she loads her gun and says âonly if they get past youâ while waiting for the attack of the chipped in 3.16 people means she is taking orders from him, and itâs a hint that Bellamy is perceived as the new Chancellor
Lexa asked Clarke to stay in Polis in 3.03 after Bellamy showed up, because she was clearly jealous and wanted to keep Clarke away from him.
Lexa chose to abandon the Sky People at Mt Weather not only for a strategic, political reason, but also because Clarke had rejected her kiss and had then proceeded to talk about Bellamyâs success in disabling the acid fog. So she sold Bellamy to the enemy because she was jealous.
And these are just the few things I can think of right now. This is what I mean when I say they twist the show to make it about Bellamy and Blarke and to make Lexa appear like the devil incarnate. This show is supposed to be about perspective, how no one is good and no one is bad, itâs just a matter of POVs. But every character gets this benefit, except Lexa.
Murphy was pretty much a monster in season 1, BUT seeing things from his POV⊠Bellamy acted like a douche in season 1 and committed mass murder in season 3, BUT seeing things from his POV⊠Hell, Iâve seen meta justifying Pike, saying he deserved a shot at redemption too. This happens with every character but Lexa.
I donât have one single reason for this, and I donât think there is a single one. More than the group of people who write these âmetasâ about how abusive Clexa and Lexa is, what worries me is how many people let themselves be influenced by them. Itâs not the full answer, but I believe in part it comes from heteronormativity. This need to find an explanation as to why the ship that usually âshouldâ be canon not only is not, but is also repeatedly shut down in favor of the usually fanon F/F ship. Even if this explanation comes from pretty much re-writing the show and misunderstanding (more like refusing to understand) and demonizing a character to an extent I had never seen before in my life.
