#for approximately 2 weeks in college I watched Jaws to fall asleep every night 🥰#that 70s sound mixing is just sooo satisfying and crunchy and the mixing is so all encompassing it is pleasant to sleep to #I also know someone who sleeps to hereditary which I think is crazy but glass houses and all #I would say Saw is comforting but I get so excited for the jigsaw reveal every time that I DO get amped at the end #it’s just so fucking funny and good baby THATS cinema #chills

I can’t believe we’re still calling English in fantasy settings “common”, give it an in-universe name and it will not only enhance my immersion but will also be Less Racist.

I enjoyed Project Hail Mary and all but I didn’t love how the movie had to blow up a black man so Ryan Gosling could have his space adventure

#here’s my thing: cast a black man as grace maybe #that would be compelling esp. bc I think it would add a layer to his need to be captured and coerced into the mission #and also add another layer of him being seen as disposable for this project #but no black men are so disposable we explode them so we can get on with the story of the real hero of this space flight #a white guy #wooo hoo #it was fun movie but like Come On Man #barefoot raps the news #also this is unrelated to the criticism in the above post but Lovelyyy puppetry #the reason I went was bc of the puppet and I had a great time with it #it reminded me of my favorite puppet from the dark crystal TV show #and I was unfamiliar with James Ortiz’ work bc I don’t live much in the world of theater puppetry #but sooo good so fun and when I heard they let him voice the character I was Sold

the fact is as a transmasc person, if you had 100 million years alone with me in a room where only you were allowed to talk, you'd still never convince me that trans women "have it better" or that "more people care about them" than us based on their hypervisibility, or that there isn't enough trans advocacy/resources/aid available for me because "trans women are getting it all," or that trans women are in any way responsible for any of the problems i have because i'm transmasc. the problems i have because i'm transmasc come from transphobia perpetuated by a cisgender majority actively creating and upholding systems of oppression. and in that struggle trans women are my allies whom i love and you simply cannot convince me otherwise.
