Their friendship is *chef kiss* so pure
They have movie nights like every single week. Whenever Sara picks the movie it’s either a horror or action movie, but Joe prefers romcoms or any movie that went straight to DVD because it’s horrible. He wants them to get to laugh at something super bad together!
Mario Kart… Neither of them are very good and whenever they race against the AI’s, neither of them get in first. But they have a lot of fun racing!!
Sara works part time at a restaurant and Joe comes by to see her and gets a milkshake pretty much every time
Joe goes through a lot of phases of things he’s really into, and Sara supports him through all of the phases. Like one week he’ll play baseball, the next week he wants to quit.
Joe has like three big dogs, all of them are super sweet and they love Sara so much. Every time she comes over she has to make her way past three massive dogs, each with wiggle butts and who want to give her kisses.
They get each other joke gifts for their birthdays. They just go to the Dollar Tree and get a few of the weirdest things they could find. Joe got Sara an at-home weed test and several baby bibs. Sara got Joe several bad Dollar Store movies and a “crab meat” roll.
Joe will take almost any dare given to him. He thinks it’s one of his best qualities. Sara won’t give him dares, but he’ll pretend she does and give himself dares
Sara gets CPR and first aid certified mostly because Joe is so accident prone.
They walked down the street and someone made a comment about Sara, just like an off-hand kind of rude thing and Joe threatened to beat the shit out of a guy who is so much bigger and stronger than him. They had to run away from this big burly man. Sara really appreciated it though.
They get frozen yogurt and ice cream together! Sara gets one flavor and then some chocolate chips or chocolate sauce on top. Joe likes to mix several flavors and then puts… So many toppings on his.
They’re both closet nerds. They do cosplays of best friends and go to conventions!! At least, they cosplayed in middle school. Now they just like to go to the conventions.
Joe is a bit of a fashionista, and brings Sara shopping with him sometimes. Neither of them really buy much, but they like to dress up and make really bad outfits for each other.
They’re both in the marching band. Joe plays the trombone, Sara plays the clarinet or the drums.
Band was one of Joe’s phases. He’s not super into it anymore, but he gets to hang out with his best friend and playing music is kinda fun, so he’s not going to drop out of it.
They have so many inside jokes… It’s like they have their own language.
Joe goes with Sara’s family on a day trip one time and they have So Much Fun it’s a very treasured memory for both of them.
They have complaining sessions together. They talk about family drama and stuff at school, and whatever else they want. Every time they have comfort food and end up staying up all night, then passing out surrounded by food wrappers and open cans of soda and iced tea.
When one of them is sick, the other visits as soon as they can to help them get better.
They text or see each other every single day.
They don’t go to the movies often because it’s expensive, but sometimes there’s a movie they both really want to see. Joe brings a backpack full of popcorn and Sara brings a backpack full of sodas.
They go to the drive-in a lot!! They get to stay for several movies in a row and sit in the trunk of one of their cars surrounded by tons of pillows and blankets and it’s The Best
Theater was one of Joe’s phases, and stayed in it for about two years. Sara went to all of his shows of course!
Sara wasn’t in too many clubs, but the ones she was in she stayed in all throughout school. She was on the debate team and was in the photography club!
Whenever she needed a model for her photos, it was always either Ryoko or Joe. Usually she would invite both of them to be a good wingman and try to get her two best friends to hang out more.
Sara has a cat, a really fat and soft one. He’s a lazy boy and he loves to sit on Joe’s lap whenever he visits.
They’ve known each other for the longest time. No matter what happens… No matter if they fight or what life things get in the way, they will always be friends.
