I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this but I did. In episode 6 of OFMD when Ed is in the tub he’s flinching at the banging on the door. And when we see his flashback and him as a kid he’s covering his ears when his dad threw the dish and it made a loud sound. So this brought me to the conclusion that Ed is afraid of loud noises that bring harm towards himself and people he loves. He flinched in fear because he thinks when there is a bang or loud destructive noise he thinks it’s meant for him or someone else in a harmful way.

Of course hes probably shot off canons but he knows that’ll happen. He’s causing the loud noise to happen and knows that it will bring him no harm, unless it happens to him.

Anyways it comforts me a lot because as someone who experienced something similar growing up it gives me reassurance that that specific kind of fear and violence is being shown in media which I’ve never seen before.

You know what I want in season 2? I want Ed and Stede to have a full on fight blood and everything. And not fully forgive each other right away (specifically Ed). Stede forgives him faster and for Ed it takes a bit longer. It’s not until Stede is reading to the crew under the stars Ed starts crying. Everyone has gone to sleep so only Stede sees. He just hugs Ed and Ed clings onto him just letting it all out begging him to stay. That’s when he forgives him. And that’s when they have another kiss💅

You know what makes me stay up and cry? The fact that Ed starting wearing his hair nice after the party. He wanted to feel like he still looked fancy and good, and when Stede said “you wear fine things well” he had is hair all fancy. So I bet he wore it up to not just look fancy but because Stede thinks he looks good in nice things too.
