Kuroshitsuji chapter 153 has brought repeated occurrence of the #4 to my attention once again. In recent arcs so far we’ve seen:

The Starlight 4

The 4 blood types

The 4 star lords

Of course there is always our Ciel’s 4 servants

And now the 4 “regions” of England. The northern, southern, eastern, and western. (Like the four cardinal directions.)

In Japan 4 is considered an unlucky number. Four is considered to be unlucky because the word for four is shi (四/し) closely resembles the word for death shi (死/し). 

This might mean nothing but part of me keeps thinking this is a bad omen for the story. That Agni was just the beginning of the losses we will face.
