Why is there so much debate on the infamous 'speed of the world' poem? Literally everytime it's mentioned its either to say it's not about rukia, it's about zangetsu. Why would ichigo be so emotional about zangetsu?

IHs know that it’s about Rukia but don’t want to admit it for obvious reasons.

Bleach dudebros think that it’s Zangetsu because they can’t read Ichigo married whoever in 686 so it can’t POSSIBLY be about him yearning for Rukia.

It’s really Kubo’s fault for setting IR up for the entire manga then pulling the rug out from under us in the end.

It's so clear that Bleach is all over the place and thought of on the fly for so many things (not everything, but definitely some things) kubo even admits that when he has writer's block, he draws new characters, but not necessarily the depth needed to properly add those characters, hence why you get things like the Sternritters feeling so half-baked, along with their powers. Things like The Almighty being way too broken to make sense narratively. Things like the fight with Gerard Valkyrie. Yet so many people still praise Kubo as like "Oh, what a genius he planned this all along, amazing." and like.. yeah props because of Kubo we wouldn't love this series so much, but you CANNOT sit here and tell me that this was all thought out and perfectly planned when it has all the hallmarks of an essay thrown together the night before submission.

Yep exactly. I lol when people think he planned the ending from the start. Things like Ichigo’s backstory (like Masaki being a Quincy) and Aizen being the baddie were decided midway through the series. The Quincys were supposed to be a near-extinct race before Kubo decided he had a secret stash of of them hidden away because he needed new antagonists for a new arc. So the idea that Kubo planned the utterly anticlimactic IchiRenAizen vs. Yhwach final fight from the beginning is just. ridiculous.

Anyway if he had really planned ever THAT perfectly he wouldn’t be making all those changes for the anime.

Epiphany. The bleach TYBW is completely and utterly without ma - the space between claps to let things breathe and allow tension to grow.

I was trying to put my finger onto why it felt like watching it is a dreadful chore and now it's explained...

There's no pause. No time to breathe.

It's overwhelming.

Like: Kyoraku activating his bankai felt ridiculously underwhelming.

And it's because there's no pause. He just activates it and speedruns through the acts like he's running down a checklist. Without that space to breathe there's no gravity to it.

It's beat for beat pretty much the same as the manga, but the panel design gives pause and breath to it the anime completely lacks.

And if his Bankai is supposed to be reminiscing of Japanese theatre, then it does a poor job at it because of the quick pace it uses...

the main issue with bleach is That it became too much. It started out as a guy killing spirits so he could help a girl get home. But then it became all about conspiracies, power struggle, literal race wars… kubo wrote himself into corner after corner until the only way to end the series was to put a dog shit bullet between it’s eyes. It got spread so thinly it snapped.

I disagree. The problem wasn’t that Kubo gave the overarching story more depth - the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo world-building and the backstories of the characters were great.

The problem was that during the TYBW arc Bleach seemed to have lost the plot. Here’s my detailed rant about it lol

Please give a reason why Wandenreich is a bad and poor writing villain and what is your idea to make them into more interesting and not one-

The gist is that Kubo rehashed tired ideas (having A-Z Sternritters is utterly retarded), and didn’t write the Quincies’ abilities within the established Bleach lore or set boundaries for them, which makes their abilities seem like asspulls.

That, and the shifting of the “big bad” from Aizen/Hollows to Yhwach/Quincies that late in the game, made Bleach not seem like Bleach anymore.

About IchiRuki and "age gap" argument...

I don't understand why antis keep saying that supporting IchiRuki is immoral because she is a 150 years old ghost and he is 15 years old boy for several reasons:

Rukia may be 150 years old (although it's likely that she was being sarcastic because Ichigo insulted her and kicked her previously), but because Shinigami age differently and in unexplained manner (Unohana still looked young when she died even through she was over 1000 years old, meanwhile Gin went from a little kid to young adult after 110 years timeskip), she is mentally and physically supposed to be a teenage girl, just like Ichigo. She doesnt' behave like an ancient, wise and detached being, she behaves like a teenage girl-she loves plush toys, she can be quite immature at times (Ichigo thinks my drawings are ugly? Let's kick his butt!) and other characters treat her like a teenager.

Before somebody says "So using your logic, would it be ok to ship Ichigo with Yachiru", I will explain this. Sure, Yachiru is probably several decades old, she may be old enough to be Ichigo's grandma. However, unless you age her up, you will be hard pressed to find any Ichigo x Yachiru fanfics or fanarts. Why? Because Yachiru looks like and behaves like a little child. Kenpachi sees her as his daughter figure, Nanao and Nemu treat her as if she was a child, nobody ever looks at her and thinks "You know, I would like to date her because technically she is 80 years old". If Rukia didn't look like and behave like a 15 years old girl, but instead looked and behaved like 5 years old girl, I doubt IchiRuki pairing would be as popular as it is.

2. If Isshin and Masaki are anything to go by, it's not impossible for a ghost and a human to become a couple in Bleach. Worst case scenario, I am sure Urahara would be able to create a device that could either slow down Ichigo's aging, or he could create a gigai for Rukia that would age accordingly.

3. For some reason, I don't see antis using the same argument whenever Ichigo is paired up with Nelliel, Rangiku, Harribel, Yoruichi, Unohana and Ikumi. And those female characters don't even look like teenagers, they are supposed to be mature, adult woman in their 20s or 30s (Also, Ikumi is his boss so that's even more questionable). Only IchiRuki gets this treatment.

4. When IchiRuki shippers imagine Ichigo and Rukia living happily ever after, they don't imagine Rukia still looking like a teenage girl while Ichigo is an elderly man. They either imagine Ichigo and Rukia as full-time Shinigami living in Soul Society together, or Rukia choosing to leave Soul Society and living in Karakura with Ichigo like a normal human.

5. Romantic relationships between mortal humans and immortal beings are very common in fiction. Inuyasha and Kagome, Thor and Jane Foster, Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor, Eros and Psyche...heck, in The Walking Dead comic books Dale and Adrea were lovers even through he was old enough to be her grandfather. IchiRuki is hardly something unusual.

I don't care if y'all say they're just friends. After all THAT, some elaborate star-crossed lovers, "prince" rescuing the "princess" sort of fairy tale, would definitely have spread throughout soul society.

Also, consider Fade to Black events...

"Oh, that whole mess was because of someone obsessing over Kuchuki Rukia. AGAIN."

"Yeah, that human shinigami boy came rushing to her rescue, was even willing to go against the officers just to get to her, and was at the forefront of the battle against this entity threatening the entire Seretei, YET AGAIN. Why am I not surprised?"

...If anything, though, after SS arc, regular shinigamis would have probably started questioning how powerful the captains are if one unhinged teenager on a mission managed to best most of them. Just sayingggg.

tbh I love the fullbring arc despite Rukia’s absence from it because it’s such a fucking ichiruki arc

Firstly it opens with Ichigo resolutely *not missing* Rukia and being a ball of angst about it

Then he dreams about her kicking his ass into gear (along with a bunch of other Soul Society members)

Then he manifests his fullbring (the ability of love, with a fucking heart on his cardigan, in the Valentine’s Day issue) by thinking of Rukia looking longingly back at him as she leaves

Then he finds out all his friends (inadvertently, of course) betrayed him, and he’s so broken that he can’t even trust Ishida or his own father or even Urahara (aka the smartest guy he knows), but then Rukia shows up and he doesn’t even doubt her once

and ofc when she shows up the rain fucking stops

and his eyes are shining he’s so stupid such a transparent baby

and she stabs him and returns his powers and for the first time in this goddamn arc we see him return to the confident, powerful, whole Ichigo that we know from earlier on in the manga

and then Rukia actually DOES kick his ass into gear and he doesn’t even care he’s just glad to see her again

and then Rukia looks up @ him fighting Ginjou with that fucking heart eyes emoji face thinking thoughts like ‘you changed me you changed everybody’ 

and then she fucking throws herself in front of him again because that stupid dumb baby is about to get himself fucking killed, seriously Ichigo when will you learn

and Ichigo makes that face

that ‘NOT HER NOT AGAIN’ face

that ‘anything but her, I didn’t regain powers just to lose her’ face’

and Riruka was so moved by Rukia’s thoughts of Ichigo that she sacrifices herself instead

and then there’s Ichigo in the background and ofc he’s caught Rukia as she falls ofc he has

like???? so many people dislike this arc and I can understand why but I can’t bring myself to hate it because this is an arc where Rukia’s absence carries as much tangible weight, if not more, than characters who are actually there in the flesh and I just???? they’re so in love someone murder me

I closed the door to Bl/each after the tragedy of 6/86 and briefly opened a window to LA, because well that pair is my weakness and it made me laugh how treacherously I/R it was.

So when weeks ago I saw a beautiful I/R fanart on Tik Tok (The anime came back, so the algorithm decided it was a good idea to torture me), and the response to a comment that said "They should have ended up together "was "READ THE MANGA", I was baffled. I mean, what did that mean? had I read a fake manga all those years and the "real manga" appeared Da Vinci Code-style after 2016? Was it all a Jump conspiracy? Have we been duped all this time?

That piqued my curiosity, so I wandered around several sites, reading publications from the "correct/canon/real manga" point of view; and well, you'll see even worse things the bible says.

Here are my favorites:

"The I/H was evident from the beginning, just read chapter 0": yes, because a one-shot that is a sketch of the general idea of a manga, that goes through many revisions and rewrites is absolutely determinant in the development of the main manga, and seriously, what exactly is the evidence?

"HM arc is the ultimate proof of I/H, he went to rescue her and even came back from the dead for her": well, so did her other friends and even R/enji and R/ukia, maybe they were all in love with her too. And about the resurrection...just...never mind.

"I/H are perfect for each other" Here I could do a whole essay from a psychological point of view that proves that it is an absolute fallacy and was more than clear in the FB arc, in real life they wouldn't work and would be a toxic couple. And God knows at least that boy needs therapy.

"O***ime looks like Ma/saki" * Bombastic side eye. Criminal, offensive side eye *

"O***ime deserves I/chigo”: Oh, so he was some kind of trophy for being a good girl, so it wasn't enough to objectify her, they also do the same with the boy.

"Ru/kia was a shinigami and I/chigo was a human, and she's much older than him, their relationship was impossible." *Everything but the rain entered the chat*.

"I/H fought together against Y/wach": And we all know how well they (he) did, right?

"W/D/k/A/L/Y": *sigh* that's what it looks like when you try to fix a mess and fail miserably.

"W/D/k/A/L/Y's scribble": ...

"Anime invented IR": The studio simply pushed something that was already implicit in the original material and they knew it would sell more, it's basic marketing. Most of us knew what was filler and what wasn't (rolls eyes).

And there definitely wasn't a parallel manga that magically made sense of that ending. What a disappointment.

And I/R are the delusional and lacking in compressive reading? It's so much easier to say you just don't like people ship I/R, instead of sending them to read the manga or giving lazy arguments. Pathetic.

This was long, but I just needed to vent or something, because I honestly found the whole situation absolutely hilarious.

My English is broken, so I hope I have been understood.

PS: So in my delusional mind I/R is right now enjoying his honeymoon on the beach *wink**wink*.

As someone that didn't leave after the ending and has seen all these "amazing points" take form and basically became the classic "IH and pro ending dudebro agenda" list, let me tell you, I was and still am baffled too. No matter how many times I read them, I still get shocked at how some really believe that bunch of BS, or better they keep repeating it untill they'll believe it.

You adressed them in a simple but direct and straight to the point way, I don't even need to add anything to what you said, agree to all of it, wait lol well maybe I could add the the pilot chapter lit has In0ue de0d at the end of it but what do we know, that doesn't seem to matter to them lol it doesn't have to make sense smh

I missed the whole thing lol, so I can’t give an opinion on the IR fandom’s reaction. I did see a screenshot of the Eng VA’s tweet on fb though, and thought she was being unnecessarily snarky and unprofessional.

Chiding fans for being IRs? Really? Pls bij, EVERYONE was pro-IR, or at least expecting it to happen, at the height of Bleach. Japanese fans even had IR festivals. The IR ship was HUGE. IH was little more than a crack ship, according to popularity polls. Imagine being so callously condescending now towards the fan base that made Bleach as big as it was back then.
