“Hey Barton, you want to come see this.”
Clint looks up at Tony’s voice, putting his bow and quiver on the rack before walking out of the large room. He could practically hear the slyness in Tony’s voice, and all he’s wondering is who the billionaire is spying on now. That man has no regard for privacy.
He walks into the security room, seeing Tony staring at one of the screens, grinning. Clint sighs. “Tony, if it’s Wanda and Vision again, I don’t want to-”
“It’s not.” Tony grins. “It’s better take a look.”
Rolling his eyes, Clint plops down into the chair next to Tony’s leaning over and looking at the screen. He’s surprised when he sees his younger sister, (y/n), walking down the hall with Pietro. He’s even more surprised when he sees they’re holding hands.
“What the-She’s only twenty-one!” Clint yells. Tony just smirks and crosses his arms as he leans back in his chair.
Clint’s eyes stay glued to the screen, mouth open as the two of you talk. Pietro’s obviously flirting, and he’s surprised to see that you’re buying it. His sister! At the end of the conversation, Pietro leans down and kisses you softly.
“What the-”
Tony cackles as Clint storms out of the room, watching on a separate monitor as he grabs his bow and quiver from the training room. Looking back at the monitor with (y/n) and Pietro on it, he sees an arrow fly into view. Pietro barely moves in time not to be hit. Clint’s curses ring over the speakers, making Tony grin as he chases Pietro down the hallway. You chase after your brother, cursing also.
Tony sighs, smile still on his face. “I should probably go get Cap.”

Natasha craned around and peered through the glass door of the toaster oven. “What are those?”
“Mine. They are mine.”
“Don’t be greedy, Tony, you could buy certain small European countries.”
Tony blinked up at her. “What would I do with a small European country?”
“Make me queen of it and give me preferential trading rights.”
“Steve wouldn’t like that. You know how he feels about the monarchy. Also, Pepper hates when I make deals with Europe behind her back.”

Natasha talks to Steve about sacrificing oneself despite the pain it brings quite often. On these occasions Steve orders pizza and makes them drink; and does his best to ease Natasha mind about Banner, using his first hand knowledge and experience.
Steve “watch your fucking language” Rogers...
The thing is… I think Steve actually would get on people’s cases about their language, but not about cursing in general. Instead, I think Steve would be insistent on what kind of insults were okay, and the second you used one that wasn’t, he’d be so unimpressed with you and just sort of pop out of nowhere like…
“-used to be such a man-whore-” “Whoa! We do not shame sex-workers or sexual lifestyles in this tower, thank you!” “Oh, uh, sorry, Steve.”
“God, I know right? I’ve never met a bigger bitch-” “That’s a misogynistic and dehumanizing insult to use and we need to be better as a society than to make negative associations to being female or feminine.” “…Right. You’re right. I’m sorry.”
“That bastard!” “While they are a horrible person, making comments that imply someone born to unmarried biological parents is a bad thing is unacceptable.” “…weren’t you working out with Thor three floors down?”
“Son of a bitch!” “I’ve already talked at length about the misogynistic nature of comparing people to female dogs, but surely there’s a better way to insult someone than to bring up and insult their mother. So it somehow comes to be that, while “fuck” is a regularly used word, Steve unintentionally manages to train the entire Avengers team and quite a bit of SHIELD into using completely non-problematic insults. Superhero-supervillain trash-talk has become endlessly entertaining; there are twitter accounts dedicated to immortalizing every word of this.
Clint Barton is regularly heard calling people “goobers”. Tony Stark loses his temper at a press conference and refers to Justin Hammer as a “fucking douchenerd”. A guard at an enemy base swears he heard the Black Widow say “crapwaffles” while trying to hack into their systems. The confused and furious rant that happens when Loki is first called a “dweeb” to his face goes viral on Youtube.
This is the Steve “Language!” Rogers that I want.
