REGULUS WANTS ALL THE KISSES. but if he has to pick, he'll take ϡ for a kiss that lets you know I love you. (blacksneverrun)
A special kiss! | accepting | @blacksneverrun
❝ Oh no. ❞ When Regulus had said he would like for her to teach him how to cook, Heidi’s thought that wouldn’t be so dangerous, and it would be a wonderful way to pass the time, really. She loved cooking, and so far he seemed to be enjoying it, too. What more could they ask for?
Well, for Regulus to not accidentally cut himself in the finger would be an option. The wound was shallow and hardly bled, and Heidi knew they could easily fix it with a wand and a bit of magic, but she was awfully set in her ways ( her mother’s ways, that was ), and instead, she took his hand and brought his finger to her lips. Kisses held a certain kind of magic, too, didn’t they?
♕ for a kiss of swearing fealty.
Heidi was determined to not fail him. Regulus couldn’t afford being caught out in the street during this war. They didn’t know if He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named knew what he had done, and was looking for him yet, and the uncertainty made that they had to be extra cautious. He’d have to hide, and it was better if few people knew. Few people meaning Albus Dumbledore, himself…. And her, his Secret Keeper, once the Fidelius Charm was cast. ❝ No matter what happens, I’m on your side, alright? ❞ She told him, his hands in hers as she gave them a soft squeeze. ❝ They don’t know who I am, or that I am even associated with you. They won’t know where to look, trust me. I will keep you safe. ❞ Like she had done, before. Like she would, again.
She lifted his hands to her lips and, in a semblance of the old ways of swearing fealty ( Helga’s memories reminded her of that ), on his knuckle. ❝ Cross my heart. ❞
✿ for a sweet kiss on the cheek.
❝ You are quite the worrier, ❞ Heidi noticed with a little laugh as she shrugged her coat on. Sure, Regulus had a point in being worried, there were more than enough dangers outside this door, the war not even included, and she’d have to walk out there all on her own—but she wasn’t just anyone, even though he did not know that. ❝ I’ll manage, Regulus, I’ll be totally fine. ❞
Secretly, she felt quite giddy that he was worried about her safety, meaning he cared. Meaning she could be a bit bolder, now. She turned to him—this hallway was terribly small, making movement a pretty intimate affair in general, and leaned in to press her lips to his cheek. She didn’t linger too long, and gazed at him through her lashes afterward. ❝ Really, don’t worry. ❞
♠ for a kiss that leaves a mark on the skin.
It was quite a surprise attack, coming from Heidi. She knew he hadn’t expected her to pop up behind where he was sat on the couch, engulfed in one of the books she’d brought him, but that was the whole fun of it, wasn’t it? Her lips pressed to his neck and she felt surprise course through him before he relaxed. Another kiss followed, and then she became a bit bolder and carefully sucked on his skin until he whined and pushed her away. A nice red mark had formed on his neck, and she laughed. ❝ That’s me, marking you, ❞ she informed him with a giggle. ❝ Mine, mine, mine. ❞
♆ for a kiss where there is a pulse.
Heidi knew she’d been fast asleep, but at some point she’d become so attuned to Regulus in the bed next to her, that she noticed immediately if something was off. She could feel him stir, the sheets moving as he struggled with a nightmare, and then his loud breath as he managed to get out of it. She was awake now, though she didn’t move yet, allowing him the time to settle down from the dream before she curled into him, arms slipping around his frame as her lips found his quickened pulse in his neck. ❝ We made it, remember? ❞ she whispered, voice soft and rough before she kissed him on the neck again. ❝ We made it, Regulus. You made it. ❞
ϡ for a kiss that lets you know I love you.
Heidi felt like she could almost touch the tension, present in this room. She’d kissed him before, just once, in an attempt to make him feel as if he’d truly made it. Afterwards, he’d claimed he was very much dreaming, which had made her laugh and wonder, for a long while, what it meant if that was what he dreamt about.
She could tell from the look in his eyes, now, that what she’d thought it meant ( what she’d hoped it meant ) was true, and that she was happy about that. It meant that what she was about to do would seal what had grown between them in the past couple of weeks.
The second kiss she ever gave him was laden with what she felt for him, because she wanted to let Regulus know that she cared, that he made her heart beat so wildly, that she was in love with him. It was soft, but so much more present than the first one, her lips pressing more firmly against his, hands finding his hair, tangling in the soft strands. I think I love you.
ღ for a kiss filled with passion and need.
Heidi didn’t want to tell him, she really didn’t, but Regulus had come to know her far too well NOT to know when something upset her. ❝ I just—I don’t know whether we will win the war. The odds have been… Not in our favor, things have become more and more dangerous, I am—- ❞ she paused for a moment, drawing in a much needed, steadying breath before she stepped into his embrace, resting her cheek on his shoulder as her arms slipped around his waist. ❝ Scared for my family, my friends… ❞ She wasn’t scared for herself, no. She was just about the last person on the very long list of people she’d rather keep safe, instead. The witch lifted her head from his shoulder and tried to smile at him, though she couldn’t quite manage.
So instead, she wiggled in his grip and her arms rounded his neck instead, body arching into his as she gazed up at him. ❝ But there’s not much more I can do, ❞ she murmured, ❝ And it’s not like worrying about it will change anything. Regulus? ❞ She tilted her head a bit, brought her face closer to his. ❝ Will you kiss me, please? I… I want to remember what it feels like—to be alive. ❞ In this world of theirs, torn apart by war.
The kiss she got was loving and warm, and she deepened it, herself, pressing herself against him, desperate and needy, kiss filled with passion, I love you, I love you, I love you.
☂ for a kiss in the rain.
The war was over. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was defeated by a boy no more than a year old. Sirius Black had been brought to Azkaban for crimes no one had thought he would have ever committed, though all evidence pointed in that direction, and Bellatrix Lestrange and the brothers had been caught. Their trial would follow in the coming days, though everyone was fairly certain they’d gotten themselves a ticket straight to the Wizarding Prison.
Heidi had gone to Regulus to inform him of the news. He was safe, they both were—but at what expense? It was raining outside when they stepped out of the apartment Regulus had been holed up in for so long, and the world felt softer, somehow, veiled by the water, which dripped like a soft curtain all around them and made their hair stick to their cheeks and necks.
Heidi turned to look at him and found his gaze already on her. A kiss followed ; she could taste the sadness on his lips, and knew that no matter what she did to soothe it, it wouldn’t go away. That was okay, she thought. We are nothing without the hardships, the things that shape us. She kissed him and held on to his hands, because even if she could do nothing to ease his pain, she wanted him to know that she was there for him.
