As we celebrate pride month, when better than to announce our queer marriage?! Jeraca and I married on Leap Day, February 29th, of this year, about two years after we first met on a date at Billy Goat Hill in San Francisco. We returned to the same date spot to celebrate our love.
We had a court marriage because of our values - we are both immunocompromised and, as the pandemic is still going on, we needed to have a small marriage to protect our health and the community's health. This marriage will also allow us to legally take care of each other. We planned our court marriage at the last minute, as we realized we wanted it to be on Leap Day. Aside from us, we only invited our good friend Erika, an amazing actor and photographer who took these wonderful photos. We will have a small wedding with our friends and chosen family who have supported us within the next few years.
I fell in love with Jeraca because of their humanity. Jeraca is a Doctor of Psychology, a therapist, and they take care of their patients every day with all their compassion, their love, and their expertise.
I fell in love with Arvind because of their incredible kindness. They are a courageous soul who is brave enough to be gentle in a world that often demands hardness, they remain soft. Whatever job they have, they make people around them feel safe and comfortable.
Jeraca and I share the same vision for the world: a world where all people can live in freedom, where the shackles of all forms of oppression are thrown off, and all children can grow up feeling safe, loved, and taken care of.
Jeraca has taken care of me through my colonoscopies and infusions and my health struggles with Crohn's disease and arthritis. Their heart shines through each and every one of their actions.
Arvind has taken care of me through multiple medical procedures and is a great nurse! They never let me run out of ice cream or laughter.
I am so, so lucky to have met them and I cannot wait to introduce the love of my life to you all - my extended family - next year during Adithi's wedding.
I cannot wait to meet everyone!
Before I introduce Jeraca, I want to share our pronouns: they/them/their. Jeraca is trans and I am nonbinary. If you want to learn more, please read the following:

When meeting us next year, please do your best to use our pronouns of they/them/their.
Also, Jeraca and I will be wearing masks during our travels. We still wear masks because we are both immunocompromised and it is important to keep all folks safe in this ongoing pandemic.
We love you all and are excited to see you all next year. Our kitties, Appa and Momo, say hi!
