"Phoenix has long been known as one of the worst examples of testing american suburban sprawl to its absolute limits. Much of the metro area is insanely car dependent, but the city in the past decade has made some incredible changes to try and change this. With valley metro having created a light rail line all the way back in 2008, the city has expanded upon it and continued to build out more light rail. With one of the biggest extensions just recently opening, it seems Phoenix is working to build a community in its core that is less car dependent and more open to seeing though a multimodal future."
