&&.                he’d just poured a fresh cup of coffee for a customer and nodded to them as they paid their tab. he recognized the girl, she came into his cafe; cuppa joe a few times when he opened up. “me a model?” he chuckled at the thought. he whipped the towel over his shoulder while leaning on the counter. “i’m not the damn model type...but i reckon i can help you out.” he rose a brow. “are you old enough to buy me a beer? and m’not a kid...m’older than you...kid.” he gave her a look.

Vince didn’t have to be a psychic to tell that Blake was uncomfortable, but why, he wasn’t sure. Maybe it was just a case of nerves. “The kids keep me busy.” He says after a moment, chuckling softly. “Yeah…here we are.” Silence falls between them again and Vince clears his throat, taking a sup from his drink. “Well…Siggy’s my best friend, and you guys are seeing each other, so I thought it’d be nice if we hung out and got to know each other at least a little bit.” 

&&.               constantly, he had to tell himself that this was okay, that it wasn’t history repeating. his knee bounced slightly as he continued to pale a bit the thought still at the back of his mind. “i know how that is...my little girl occupies majority of my time, and when she doesn’t i’m looking out for bryce and emma” he smiled a bit talking about the kids. “yeah...” he trailed off before clearing his throat at the silence. they were off to a great start. when Vince spoke again, he felt the coils in his chest tighten, feeling like they might snap. “oh yeah...yeah.” he finally exhaled and decided to just be honest. “ honestly...i’m not gonna put on a fake smile and pretend like i’m okay...this is really uncomfortable for me. last time i met someone close to someone i was in a relationship with...it was under the worst circumstances...so i apologize if i’m a bit on edge.” he explained a bit before rubbing the back of his neck. “ i’m tryin’ to keep tellin’ m’self that this ain’t like that but i’ll admit...it’s pretty hard at time.”

Vince wanted to give Blake a chance. He was important to Siggy, so it was important that he get to know the other man. He didn’t really know much about him outside of what his best friend had told him. He figured it might be better to meet the other man in his own turf, which was why he was at Cuppa Joe now. Giving Blake a smile, he returns the shake, nodding slightly at the offer. “Oh, uh…thank you.” After ordering, he places some money in the tip jar, going to join the other again. “Thanks for meeting me. Sorry it’s taken so long…life’s a bit crazy.” 

&&.               “ not a problem.” he clenched his teeth some while the other went to do what he needed to. he’d be a liar if he said this whole sit down didn’t make him uncomfortable. unintentionally he felt his mind going to a place he didn’t like. was he going to tell him that he’d been sleeping with siggy? knee bounced some as he exhaled, rubbing his now clammy palms against his pants. he glanced up as vince sat back down across from him. “ i reckon it’s just timin’ “ he murmured. “ but here we are...so..” he trailed a bit. “what can i do you for ? “

Vince figured it was high time that he met Blake. So he had reached out to the other man, inviting him out for a cup of coffee. Arriving early at Cuppa Joe, he gets them a table, moving to his feet to greet the other man when he arrives. “Blake? It’s nice to officially meet you, I’m Vince.”

&&.               blake didn’t really have plans for the day. it was a lazy weekend for those in the household. one of those days where blake would just sit on the couch, siggy in his arms with his daughter along with her own kids watching the greatest showman. something was different this particular day. instead of relaxing back, he’d gotten an invite to his own cafe to meet with...vince. he’d be lying if he said this meeting didn’t make him feel a bit off. how many men would have a sit down with their lady’s ex...who they were still very close with? coming into the cafe, he waved to his workers while spotting the back of who he came to meet. as he stood, he found himself sizing up slightly before extending his hand to shake firmly. “nice to finally meet you as well, vince.” he let his hand go, taking a seat. “feel free to order whatever you’d like..it’s on the house.” he gave a nod of his head.

Siggy was tired the minute she walked in the door, setting her stuff against the half wall by the living room before leaning against it and resting her head. She took a moment before she straightened up and turned to give Blake a tired smile as she took off the jacket she was wearing. “I told you she was a cutie. She’s going to be a handful when she gets bigger for sure.” She hung her coat up sighed, looking down at her watch and realizing how late they had stayed out just enjoying the fresh air and watching the sunset. Her hand ran through her hair and she sighed, “I guess the kids are upstairs waiting on us to tell them good night. I’m gonna do that and then go get a shower. Maybe after we can watch a movie or something to celebrate your release from quarantine.” She smirked, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek before heading upstairs to tuck in Bryce and Emma. // @blakexwilson

&&.                getting out for some needed air was truthfully everything for him. however, the highlight of his day was watching his woman in action. how studious she was, yet had this calming spirit to her. each movement just oozed passion, as if she were doing what she was meant to. “she was adorable, but i hate to break this to you darlin’ but i’ve only got eyes for 4 others people in m’life” he shot her a wink while helping her put everything down. “if you want i reckon you can start puttin’ them in bed, i can finish putting things away down here” he reassured. “after that i’ll come up to kiss their foreheads” he put one of the cases on her desk, brow arching at the suggestion. “i can do a movie, s’long as i’ve got my lady close to me...go on and take care of yourself darlin’” he smiled feeling her lips press to his cheek. though, as she began to walk upstairs, he very softly took her hand, giving her a soft tug back to his arms. he just swayed with her a moment before dipping down, pressing a slow kiss to her soft lips. “m’sorry...wasn’t ready to let you go or watch you walk away just yet.”
