Dear toddler regressors here's some tips and tricks on how to go to bed like a proper toddler.

-refuse to go to sleep when offered and act extremely offended they asked

-throw yourself on the floor screaming and crying when they insist it's time for bed

-Bargain with them, you'll go to bed if you get a glass of milk

-refuse to go to sleep without a bed time story

-pretend to go to sleep .. and then walk into your care givers room 5 minutes later saying you couldn't sleep.

-Crawl into the caregivers bed,sprawl out taking up the whole bed, and finally fall asleep

thinking abt like, what I'd do if I was taking care of a little who's self conscious about using regression gear... bc my first thought is "well what if I do something in-between first to show it's okay?"

don't want to use a sippy cup even though u could spill? how about I get us no spill water bottles and we can both use those?

don't want to take a nap? that's okay, I do want to take a nap though, can you hang out with me while I nap? you can color or do anything else, and if you end up wanting to too, you can join me!

worried about wearing padding to make sure you don't have an accident? it's okay, you can put it in the same place I put my jumbo pads! there's not really much of a difference when you think about it, we can be two cool cats taking care of ourselves together!

do you want warm milk while we're out but don't want people to think it's weird? let's get steamers then! see, it can't be that weird if I'm getting one too

you don't need to worry about it if I'm there, because I'm never going to judge and I'll be right there if someone else does. It's okay to want to do little things, even if you aren't quite there yet!

kid who's struggling, trying to hide it from their carer. they go about their normal routine, smiling and pretending, but their carer notices and gently sits them down, asking what's wrong. at their carer's soft concern, the little breaks, letting it all out as their carer holds them and gently wipes their tears.

once they've calmed down a bit, the carer asks, "why didn't you come to me, baby? I'm always here.."

"i didn't want you to leave.. you shouldn't have to deal with all of this, I'm sorry!"

the carer shushes them gently, pulling them close. "oh baby, this isn't temporary. you're my kid. this is forever - anything you need, I'm here. I've got you now, baby. you're never gonna be alone again."

🌷 some toddlers always wanna hold their parent's hand and constantly check if they're still there - others really wanna be independent and constantly say that they can do it themselves!!

🧦 some kids use their stuffies more as decorations or gift them to younger relatives or friends - others still sleep with them every night!!

🦔 some babies switch to solids pretty quickly and soon have a favourite snack - others are still bottle- or even breastfed at a later age!!

🐛 some toddlers start having secrets with friends and only play with people their age - others still do lots of activities with their parents!!

🌾 some kids have more mature interests pretty quickly and can't wait to finally be allowed things they weren't before - others find comfort in their old movies and board games!!

🪩 some babies use pacis until they're trained off them and are diapered at all times - others rely on pacis only for a shorter time and are quickly potty trained!!

⭐️ WE SEE ALL THIS EVERY DAY - DON'T WORRY ABOUT BEING A "CORRECT" REGRESSOR, BECAUSE THERE ARE NO "CORRECT" BABIES/TODDLERS/KIDS EITHER!! ⭐️

Imagine...

⭐Your cg making spaghetti for dinner... you get sauce all over your face as you enthusiastically shovel the noodles into your mouth, causing your cg to laugh as they wipe your face with a soft napkin and urge you to slow down, a warm smile never leaving their lips. "How'd you even manage to get sauce there silly??" Bathtime is inevitable tonight.

⭐Feeling small at the grocery store while you're out shopping with your cg... you grow quieter, your mind feeling fuzzy as you instinctivy drift closer to your cg seeking comfort and saftey It's no matter though, they notice immediatly and take your hand in theirs, holding you tight. They notice your eyes drifting to the baby section, all those soft stuffies and yummy snacks and lovely bottles and pacis... with a small smirk on their face they lead you to through the aisles, allowing you to pick out a few items for yourself for being "such a good shopping helper" as your legs grow tired and you start to lag behind your cg helps you up into the cart so you can "gaurd the groceries" - aka nap - while they finish shopping.

⭐Having a backyard picnic with your cg on a warm sunny day... you can feel the soft dewy grass beneath your feet as you run across the yard, your cg not far behind. You are surrounded by the chirping of the birds and soft breeze whispering through the trees. You look around in wonder, eager to explore. After hunting for bugs under rocks and being chased around by your cg, the two of you finally settle down on the picnic blanket and eat the peanut butter sandwitches you packed. You sip cool, sweet lemonade from your sippy cup as you lay down with your cg, staring up at the sky and pointing out shapes in the clouds. "That one looks like a kitty cat! And that one looks like a dinosaur!!" You soon slip into a blissful sleep, relishing the warmth of the sun, and that's ok, as your cg is there watching over their little one.

⭐Coloring with your cg... you're sitting comfily in their lap, an aray of dollar store coloring books and various markers and pencils splayed out in front of you. You happily (and incoherently) babble to your cg as you scribble away at your coloring, with your cg nodding along, their fondness for you seeping into their responses. "Oh wow baby that's so cool!" "Uh huh, then what happened next" You reveal your masterpiece to your cg, and although there is more coloring outside of the lines then in, their heart fills with pride. "Good job honey! Wow such a clever little one." They promptly hang the coloring page on the fridge, but not before adding a shiny golden star to it, making you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

⭐Bedtime with your cg... being tucked snugly under the covers, your favorite stuffies and softest blankets surrounding you. Your eyes grow heavy as listen to the soothing voice of your cg reading the bedtime story you picked out. Even though you're already half asleep, you insist on "just one more story" - a request that your cg just can't say no to when you ask with your soft pleading whine. It's no suprise to them that your breathing slows about three pages in, you've already drifted off to dreamland. They smile knowingly as they put the book aside and settle into bed next to you, switching the lamp off and wrapping a protective arm around you as they join you in slumber. "Goodnight little one"
